Reflections by Jill - A Weekly Commentary for OLTL

From Jill Berry, for About.com

The montage where Nash remembered his time with Tess was beautiful. I actually shed a tear when Nash just sat there thinking of Tess and said, “You said you’d never leave me.” And Jessica tried to be as kind as she could when she told him that she could feel Tess and all her thoughts but she couldn’t see her any more. And the kick in the teeth to Nash was when she told him that she didn’t love him. Spoilers say that a wedding will be in the works for Antonio and Jessica, but when her feelings for Nash keep surfacing, will she be able to go through with the wedding? Hey, how many soap weddings actually happen where some craziness at the last minute calls off the whole thing? Lots, right? That’s what I’m hoping for. After all, Jessica married Tico (oh, I cringe thinking about him) when she really knew it wasn’t right for her, so I can’t see her doing that again if she has second thoughts.

We got more intensity from Kevin and Kelly. There are so many problems between these two people that it appears they will never be able to sort them out and have peace, but I guess they will since the two are supposed to exit Llanview together later this year. I can see both sides of this. Kelly desperately wants a baby and doesn’t care that it’s Duke’s and Kevin hasn’t gotten to the point where he can accept everything but he’s trying. They need to give each other a break, that’s for sure. It was a nice touch when Kevin told her that he could learn to live with what happened with Duke but he could never learn to live without her. Then when Natalie told Kevin about Spencer having that virus in his office, it was nice to see Kevin and Kelly united to find out exactly what happened. At first I thought Kelly was going to defend Spencer. Perish the thought!

Didn’t you love watching John and Bo search Spencer’s office. They were like two kids in a candy store. And I loved watching Paige socked it to Spencer. I am waiting longingly for the day when he cracks and we see him realize that he’s not going to get away with what he’s done. Will we ever see him give it up? Somehow, Spencer cowering in a corner sobbing his eyes out would go a long way towards making me a happy girl.

Paige was right. It was too bad that David didn’t have the guts to totally kick Spencer to the curb like she did. I do enjoy watching David taunt Spencer from the other side of the jail bars. That’s just plain fun to watch, isn’t it?

And finally, Paige decides to tell Hugh that he’s Spencer’s son and she is his mother. Wow. I can’t wait to see how Hugh reacts to this horrible news. I hear that John and Hugh are going to set up Spencer by letting him go on low bail and then planting a tracking device in his wristwatch so they can follow him, hoping he’ll lead then to the gun that killed John’s father. I hear they will find the gun, so I’m hoping Spencer walks right into their trap.

And Dorian, what can I say? She was in hot enough water when she masterminded the scheme that led to Adriana’s kidnapping, but now she might as well just throw in the towel. Rex getting shot was the icing on the cake. I could just hear the gears grinding in Dorian’s head and her thinking, “Oh boy, as if I weren’t in enough trouble with my daughter, now the jerk has to go and get himself shot. She’s never going to forgive me now!” Hey, at least we got rid of Bruce. Having him around just took too much time away from things we really wanted to watch. A few months from now I don’t think we’ll remember his name. Too bad he didn’t take Claudia with him.

And of course Dorian decided to live by that age old motto, “Deny, deny, deny!” She doesn’t realize how transparent she is when she’s trying to lie her way out of something. I loved that she finally admitted to Adriana that she was behind the whole stalker plot and then Adriana Bo arrest her. Too bad Rex couldn’t be out there to see it.

And speaking of Claudia, what kind of idiot is this woman? She stood there and talked to Jessica about her illness and likened her to Humpty Dumpty. Antonio should have used his obnoxious temper on her and fired her on the spot. But no; Claudia only gets a warning. What’s that about?

I’m glad that Marcie and Michael are going to adopt Tommy. The heartbreaker will be when they finally have him all to themselves and the possibility arises that Tommy is Margaret’s long lost baby. Ah happiness, it never lasts on daytime.
