REFLECTIONS BY JILL for September 8, 2008

Lee Ramsey

I think Ms. Nursemaid Janet has a few screws loose, too. Instead of going to the police when Todd first threatened her to comply with his wishes, she has bought into the whole mess, too. I mean, come on; Lee Ramsey was her hero! Obviously this whole torturous Todd storyline wouldn’t work without a few idiots to go along with him and Janet fits the bill for sure. I nearly choked when she told Marty that she thinks Todd is a very sexy man and that he has a crush on her. Marty buys into it and lets her feelings run wild to the point where she dolls herself up for Todd and tells him when he comes home that she will help him raise the baby. Ewwww! This is a family affair I don’t want to witness.

I have to say at this point that the writers, TPTB, or whatever addled brain in charge is prolonging this debacle between Todd and Marty, it has gone way too far. It’s one thing to watch Todd pull the wool over Marty’s eyes and feed her a history she doesn’t remember. However, it is totally something different and very, very sick to take it to the point where Todd is allowed to become so immersed in his own sick mind and fantasy world that he takes full advantage of Marty. To have any hint of romance between Todd and Marty when he was her rapist and she has no idea about her past with him is disgusting. Having them kiss at the end of Friday’s show was unacceptable to me and I was shocked to see it.

Clint continues to be Little Asa and I’m sick of him, too. I was thrilled that Natalie showed up at the house and went after him about sending Jared to Colombia to do his dirty work. The best part was that Nora witnessed the whole thing, which is exactly what Clint was trying to avoid. Clint told Natalie that he was not troubled about anything he was doing to get the company back and Natalie was sharp enough to say that if he was so sure he was doing the right thing, why was he keeping it from Nora? Actually, Clint doesn’t really care what Nora thinks. He likes having her on his arm when she agrees with what he does and when she calls him out about his behavior, he has no use for her. Nora wasn’t happy to find out that Clint was using Langston to get back at Dorian and she let him know that she was angriest at the fact that he kept her in the dark, just like he did when Lindsay was feeding him blackmail information on his enemies. The funniest thing was that while this scene was going on, I was thinking that Nora now owns that mansion and she should just toss Clint’s butt out of there and it seemed like she did. I wonder if he’ll really move out. Go Nora! She doesn’t need him weighing her down. Now that Dallas is back in town and wants Clint back, I think she should have him and Nora should tell Clint, “Don’t let the door hit you in the butt.”

I’ll bet Rex wasn’t too thrilled about being caught making out with Gigi in the airport by Adriana’s brother and cousin. Cristian and Antonio were not too happy to witness Rex and Gigi’s happiness and what could Rex say? He told them the truth and Antonio warned him that he doesn’t want to see his sister hurt or humiliated. I guess Antonio understands from what happened with Jessica that it’s possible to love someone and then fall in love with someone else. It’s too bad he doesn’t know all the trouble Adriana made before she left Llanview. And now Cristian has to wait for another flight to follow Antonio, Talia and Sarah back to Llanview and he gets grabbed by Carlo’s thugs. Thankfully, we only have a few more days of dealing with Carlo. Thank goodness.

I felt sorry for Marcie and Michael. These two just can’t make it work. Marcie still holds out hope that they can be together with Starr’s baby and even though Michael really believes he can’t get involved in that life again, it hurts him not to be with Marcie in that birthing class. I don’t blame him for his position; there will never be peace for them with Todd around and Marcie just won’t see that. Then Marcie and Michael have words at Capricorn because Marcie walks in and sees him dancing with Layla. It won’t take much any more for Marcie and Michael to get their wires crossed and even a little thing like a dance with a friend is a strain on them.

Thank goodness Rex and Gigi are back from 1968 but they have a nasty scene at the airport when Brody and Shane come to meet them. Gigi needs to deal with Brody with a very strong hand because he has gone way overboard in his actions since she’s been gone especially now that Shane spilled the beans about the DNA test. Everyone needs to remember that Shane is the most important person to consider in this mess and Rex wasn’t helping when he came on so strongly to Brody about getting out of the picture now that he was going to take over as Shane’s father. Rex needs to take a much more mature stance here because even Brody knows more about parenting than he does and it is going to take more than saying he’s Shane’s father for things to work out. Shane adores Brody and it didn’t help for Rex to argue with Brody and punch him out. Rex made it even worse when Shane saw it happen, said, “You hit my father” and Rex yelled at Shane, “He’s not your father.” That was a bad move on Rex’s part. He needs to step back and let Gigi take responsibility for starting this mess and deal with Shane by herself first. Brody can just hang back and make Rex look bad; it works for him. Rex needs to be smarter.
