Reflections by Jill - A Weekly Commentary for OLTL

From

And what a surprise when John and Natalie got into Spencer’s safe deposit box and didn’t find the gun, but found that incriminating photo of Margaret and her baby. Although I’d love to see John with the gun as evidence that Spencer killed his father, that photo is a wonderfully damning piece of evidence. Leave it to Nora to get the judge to issue a search warrant so that Hugh could obtain the photo legally. And John never had to let on that he knew exactly what Hugh was going to find. Then to top it off Hugh found that letter that Spencer wrote to Margaret’s little boy. I wonder if that hand writing expert’s testimony will stand up in court. Of course if it gets to court Spencer will have just as many experts that counter whatever is thrown at him.

I’m so happy to see Nora back at work. I’ve missed Hillary in the part of her role she does best, that of the smart, independent and honest career woman. I love seeing her working with Hugh, John and Bo.

And as someone who usually defends Kelly, I was not happy that when she thought she had a problem with her pregnancy and went to that clinic, she called Kevin to tell him what happened, but wouldn’t tell him where she was or let him come be with her. What was that all about? If she wasn’t going to tell him where she was, she should never have called. Why did he need to get that call and then be worried and not be able to do anything about it? I thought it was wrong of Kelly to do that and very selfish.

Then we have Nash, ever the good daddy, dropping whatever he’s doing when he hears from Jessica that the baby has a fever. I thought he was too cute when he rushed over there with all the remedies and information he picked up on what to do when a baby has fever. Jessica keeps remembering more and more of what Tess’s life with Nash was like and although she tries to keep telling herself that she loves Antonio and wants a life with him (and I’m sure the Jess part of her wants exactly that), she can’t seem to get or stay mad at Nash for hanging around. I think Antonio going back to the police force is going to do more harm than good to his relationship with Jessica. Wasn’t it a bit too contrived that the day Antonio gets his badge back he busts the same doctor that covered up for Spencer when Paige supposedly killed Thomas McBain in the operating room? It was great that Jessica got to confront the guy. She’s making incredible progress and her integration is going to be complete very soon.

On to Cristian and Evangeline. Well, they finally made it to bed uninterrupted and I thought their love scenes were very nice. I like the chemistry between these two. I like that they can talk to each other honestly and laugh together. I thought it was very realistic when Evangeline hesitated to make love with Cris at first and then explained that it was difficult for her because she hasn’t been in a relationship for a long time and this wasn’t casual for her. Of course Cristian admitted that it wasn’t casual for him either and that he wanted a future with her except that he first wanted to make something of himself. I think the boxing storyline has to go. Little does Cris know that Vincent will be throwing him to the wolves and if he doesn’t permanently destroy his hand or get his head smashed in, he’ll be very lucky. His relationship with Evangeline is going to be shaky.
