REFLECTIONS BY JILL for July 30, 2007

From Jill Berry, for About.com

And our beloved David is now gone. His last airdates were last week and I hope we get him back again soon, even for a little while. I was glad that he didn’t leave on bad terms with Viki, but boy, she got some surprise when she gave him that computer and Clint walked in and tossed it across the room, spilling the beans about David blackmailing him for $10 million to save Jessica’s life. David felt like dirt when he saw how disappointed Viki was in him and it is certainly a turnaround for David to have a conscience about anything, let alone to feel bad enough about hurting someone that he’d give back all that money just so Viki wouldn’t look at him like he was pond scum.

Of course David wasn’t happy with Clint for making him look terrible in Viki’s eyes and threatened to drag Asa through the mud, but we all know that’s not happening. I’m not condoning what David did to Clint, but let’s face it; both Bo and Clint were going to ignore the fact that Asa was paying David $10 million to kill Spencer, so in comparison, what David did was small potatoes.

It was pretty cute when David opened the box and Viki told him it was a computer like the one he admired in her bedroom and he said, “That’s not all I admired in your bedroom.” Viki and David are so cute together and I’d love it if David could hang around so that we could continue to enjoy the comedy between these two, if not a romance. It looks like Michael is just about ready to explode now that Todd is back and going to be fine. He was even afraid for Blair and Viki to go and sit with Todd for fear that some information about Todd’s son would come out. This situation with Todd and that baby is so explosive. I can’t imagine how bad it’s going to be for everyone involved when the truth comes out.

And Paige is leaving. I know she has been upset since Hugh died and she has had a hard time dealing with his death, but I think it was a bit of a stretch to use that as an excuse to get her out of town, especially when she comes out and says she doesn’t know if she’s coming back. It was no consolation to Bo that Paige admitted that she was empty from her grief and didn’t want to bring Bo and Matthew down with her. Poor Bo. I can’t say how bad I feel for him. Why can’t this great guy find a good woman to love and stay with him? If he is going to be involved with Lindsay after this, she is no replacement for Paige. It took three actresses playing Paige for me to finally like this character and I really do like her. I have always wanted Bo back together with Nora, but if that was not going to happen, I was very happy that he found love with Paige. Now Bo has to take another hit in the gut. It’s not fair, that’s all I can say. I just hate seeing him thinking that it was something he did that made her want to leave.

I guess Miles is hoping he can get out of the hot seat, but now John is questioning him about the hooker who wound up in Todd’s bed the motel and whoa, now we find out that the hooker was sent by Jordan. Hmmm, we all know how Miles knows Jordan. We all remember how she taught him how to pleasure Marty and make her fall in love with him. ICK! Now Marty seems to think she remembers everything about Spencer’s murder when she remembers being in the room and supposedly stabbing Spencer. John sure doesn’t want to believe she did it. I am impatient to see the resolution to this mess already.

How adorable is Matthew? I loved the scenes where Cole came to stay at the mansion and Matthew tried to make him feel at home. Matthew is a very old soul and he has such a good and compassionate heart. I loved hearing him tell Cole about being without his mom for all that time when she was in a coma and it was so sweet when he told Cole that he didn’t think he’d have to wait that long to have his mom back. He sure made Nora proud when she overheard that. She and Bo should be so proud of that kid.

I liked watching Dorian and David’s farewell. These two really belong together. No couple understands each other better than Dorian and David. I was hoping that she would figure out that he gave the money back to feel better about herself in Viki’s eyes. That would have ruined her day, or her week, or her life. But all David said was that he finally feels free. Good for you David. Have yourself a good life but don’t forget to come back to Llanview. We’ll all be awaiting your next visit!

See ya next week.

Jill
