OH NO! I knew it was only a matter of time, but has Blair Cramer learned nothing from her lifetime of bad choices? We all know that when it comes to Todd, neither Blair nor Tea has a whole brain between them, but I was hoping against hope that Blair’s horrible experience with Spencer would have taught her something about dealing with men WITH HER CLOTHES ON! Just when I get a tiny ounce of respect for Blair, she goes and reminds me that she is by nature a very insecure and loose woman and she will never stop believing that anything can be achieved with sex.
So, Blair gets ticked off seeing Todd and Tea kiss passionately at the pool and instead of taking the high road, she decides to get down on Todd’s level (which is about as low as she can go) and hires Chad the Hottie Lifeguard to teach Sam how to swim. Of course Blair is decked out in a teeny bikini and major high heels to hang out at the pool and her goal is not to teach Sam to swim, but to make Todd jealous as she throws herself at Chad. Honestly, I think that judge had the right idea when he doubted Todd and Blair were fit parents. The garbage they pull in front of their kids is ridiculous. It never ceases to amaze me that Starr has grown up to be a wonderful, smart and caring young adult with those two idiots as parents. Jack is already well on his way to ruin as a clone of his father, which no one seems to be addressing and poor little Sam is at the mercy of Todd, Blair and Jack’s influence.
Of course it gets worse because as much as Todd and Blair claim they aren’t trying to make each other jealous, that is exactly what they are doing. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; these two deserve each other and nobody else deserves to be in the nasty position of being involved with them. Todd walks into the cabana and finds Blair in a major lip lock with Chad (would she really have had sex with this stranger to make her disgusting ex jealous?) and he can’t stand to see it. Since Blair has accomplished her goal of getting Todd’s attention, she lets Chad leave and then after some inane comment from Todd like, “if there’s nothing between us you won’t care about getting naked in front of me”, Blair goes for it and strips. It takes Todd about three seconds to jump her bones and they are having sex when Tea walks in and is horrified. Why is she horrified? Simple; she is horrified because she is STUPID! She has allowed herself to be an insecure, pathetic woman when it comes to Todd and it is so ridiculous because in every other aspect of her life she is a smart, take no prisoners woman. Sure, Tea calls it quits with Todd for good this time (we’ll see how long that lasts) and I did love her initial reaction when she grabbed him good where it really hurts. But I hated the fact that she stood there crying her eyes out like a pathetic jilted lover and let him go on about how having sex with Blair meant nothing and she was the one he wants; how it was an accident and it happened because Blair got naked in front of him and was trying to make him jealous with the pool boy. Does Todd ever listen to how ridiculous he sounds? I guess he figures he can talk his way out of or into anything. Hey, he’s gotten plenty of women in Llanview to sleep with him; Marty, Tea, Blair. Todd is disgusting; Tea is pathetic and I have lost all hope for Blair. John is well rid of her. Dorian had the right idea trashing and burning that cabana mattress. Even Dorian knows it is really sick that Blair’s biggest joy after having sex with Todd is that Tea was furious about it.
And speaking of John, he decides after an enlightening discussion with Cole that he has wasted enough time getting his life on track and heads over to see Marty. He tells her he doesn’t want to waste any more time wondering how things will work out for them and after letting Marty know that his marriage to Blair is over and that Blair won’t make trouble for them (yeah right) they fall into each other’s arms and get very close to making love when Marty decides that so much is going on right now and she is not ready. Just as she decides that she really is ready and they start getting cozy again, Marty has a flashback of sleeping with Todd (Ugh, I hated that so much!). Is there any life at all in Llanview that Todd hasn’t wrecked? Marty admits to John that Todd came to her mind since he’s the last man she had sex with (EWW) and John understands that she is not ready to be with him in that way. John is very understanding but probably wants to put a bullet between Todd’s eyes which he later does at the shooting range) and who could blame him? John leaves and says it’s okay that she’s not ready and she tells him she doesn’t remember him being a patient man. John does his “knight in shining armor” thing and tells Marty that he is patient when it is something worth waiting for. These are the quiet little things I love about John when he is dealing with someone he cares about. Blair never deserved him in a serious relationship other than as friends.
And speaking of Marty, I was appalled that she marched over to Todd’s place and let him have it about being in her head so that she couldn’t be with John. Why do these otherwise smart women all find it impossible to keep from letting Todd know that he has so much power over their lives. Couldn’t Marty have dealt with this on her own? Did she have to let Todd know that she was yet one more woman he could bring to her knees? IT MAKES ME SICK!
