FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS

Disonba3 writes: “What about John McBain and Natalie? The fan polls and the message boards tell the writers that everyone (or nearly everyone) wants them together, not suffering from the same ole tried and true John phobia. He said Nat was his soul mate. I want to know what changed? What did the appearance of Marty Saybrooke have to do with John and Nat’s romance? Fans waited so long for the two of them to be united, then they break them up? I'm confused. Don't we matter? Don't our opinions of what we watch count? I no longer watch OLTL since TPTB decided to break them up. I do occasionally drop in due to soap.com and check things out, but I will not watch the utter degradation of Nat and John's love by involving them with other people, nor will I until this couple is reunited.”

Dear Disonba3: I have wanted John and Natalie together from the beginning, too, but at least for right now it is not meant to be even though it is more than obvious that they still care a lot for each other. The show has other things in mind for them; for Natalie a new man she meets through her new job and for John, maybe Marty. I’m not a big Marty fan but I am still a really big John fan so I’m waiting to see where all the new storylines lead everyone. It is certainly your prerogative to stop watching the show and as far as a reunion for John and Natalie, who knows if it will ever happen or when.

Jamie writes: “I appreciate the fact that you think Nash is the next best thing since sliced bread. But it is amazing to me that Nash is a hero for saving Antonio, but Antonio is not a hero for saving Jessica? Unless I missed it, I did not read “hero and Antonio” in the same sentence with regard to his sacrifice for Jessica. But, OMG, Nash does a little sewing up a wound and he is the big hero around town now. Amazing the slack you give this guy.”

Dear Jamie: Well, Nash is not the next best thing since sliced bread. For me that could only be one guy and that was Ben Davidson. Nash is a close second as far as sweet and devoted partners go in my opinion. And even though I love Nash and am happy he will finally be with Jessica, I have been more than sympathetic to Antonio’s situation, especially where it concerns Jamie. I feel terrible for Antonio; he got the really short end of the stick in this situation and I have never said he got what he deserved because I don’t believe he deserved any of what happened to him. He, Jamie and Nash were as much victims of DID as Jessica was and it’s very sad. As harsh as it sounds, Antonio has to find a way to deal with his hurt and I don’t blame him for any of his feelings. Jessica can’t expect any kind of relationship with him and she just has to go on with her life and deal with her guilt, just as Antonio has to find a way to get over her.

Dee writes: ‘’I love your column except for the way you hate Todd. He is the force that keeps me taping the show for all these years, first with Roger and now with Trevor. I have really missed Todd this month and want to see him and Blair together again. I love Viki with Clint and cannot stand Dorian. I guess they are bringing a new love into Viki’s life. I don’t think it will be quite the same.”

Dear Dee: I don’t hate Todd. I do basically dislike him a lot, sorry. I don’t hate any characters except the really vile villains like Spencer, Tate and now the newest creep, Miles. The thing for me that separates Todd from these other creeps is that Todd does have some redeeming qualities. The others have none. That’s why I don’t really “hate” Todd. Todd loves his kids even though he almost never thinks before he acts on some selfish mission and winds up hurting them and Blair. I also love his relationship with his sister, Viki. I think Todd and Blair belong together because as I’ve said before, nobody else deserves the headache of being with either one of them. And as far as Viki goes, I think in the past several years since Ben has been gone, they have said she would have a new love interest about 100 times. It never seems to pan out, but I will say that I adore her storyline with David. I love seeing Viki having fun and I adore David so teaming them up can mean nothing but total enjoyment for me. The fact that it bugs the heck out of Dorian (and probably Clint) only adds to my fun.
