Tuc Watkins as David Vickers

FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS

Helene writes: “I am frustrated trying to find David Vickers on cast lists. I want to know his real name and is he the actor living on Wisteria Lane on Desperate Housewives?”

Dear Helene: The adorable actor who plays David Vickers is Tuc Watkins and yes, that is definitely him you see on Desperate Housewives. Luckily we’ve been able to get him back to New York for a few stints as David Vickers in recent months, but everyone I know would love to have him back permanently.

Karen writes: “I totally agree with you about Layla. She appears to not have a life now that Vincent is MIA. A real friend would let Adriana know that her obsessive behavior will eventually cost her Rex. At this point, Layla appears to have lost all her spunk. When will Viki find out about Charlie and what do you think she will do?”

Dear Karen: It’s too bad that we hardly get a glimpse of Vincent anymore since the actor has been taken off contract and will probably leave the show. It seems as though the writers don’t know what to do Layla besides having her be at Adriana’s beck and call. Layla seems to be getting a little tired of Adriana’s behavior and has tried to advise her that she will lose Rex if she doesn’t calm down, but it is going to be interesting to see what happens to Layla once Adriana is gone. I don’t know exactly when Viki will find out the truth about Charlie and I don’t know what she’ll do. Viki has always been the kindest and most forgiving person on the show and we all know she has forgiven the deception of loved ones in the past. Viki certainly went through a lot with Ben, from dealing with his mob connections to him having an ex-wife that he (oops) forgot to tell her about and Viki’s very deep love for Ben allowed her to forgive him. When it comes to Viki and Charlie, I don’t yet see the same kind of connection that Viki had in past relationships. I also think the situation with Charlie is worse because he has made a choice to deliberately lie to her and moved in with her with the intention of being happy with her for as long as he could before the poop hits the fan. Yes, he is torn over protecting Jared and lying to Viki and that’s the only thing that might help him a little bit because Viki is the master at being devoted to her children. To me, even though Charlie is protecting his son, he is also protecting himself from losing Viki and if the writers are true to Viki’s character, she won’t be so forgiving of being made a fool of and Charlie will have to sweat it out for a while. I don’t doubt that eventually Viki will forgive Charlie; that’s just her way. However, she will be very humiliated, as well as hurt.

Howard writes: “Do the TPTB ever listen to the fans? There are close to 1,400 fans that are truly upset about the firing of Forbes March and most will stop watching. Does anyone at OLTL care? How do we get them to listen?”

Dear Howard: I think TPTB do listen to the fans sometimes, but not nearly often enough in my opinion. They have made this decision to let Forbes go and believe me, there are a lot more than 1,400 fans that are upset, including me. Check around on some of the soap websites. I know there is a big petition going around somewhere that people are signing to keep Nash in Llanview. From what I’ve heard, it is pretty much a done deal that he’s gone and that makes me very angry because this is a character that we invested in; we watched him grow into a very decent and loving guy, only to see the character thrown under the bus.

Jamie writes: “I don’t understand how in one paragraph, you say the character of Cris is one-dimensional because he stands up for his brother and gets into a fight and then in the next paragraph, you praise the character for getting Todd’s goat. So, which is it?”

Dear Jamie: It’s both, of course! Cristian has been made into a one-dimensional character in some ways, which is evidenced by the fact that his first impulse is to blow up in many situations. Now we know that he was part of the plan to get Ramsey by getting into that fight with John, but before we knew that, I’m sure no one was surprised that Cris would do something like that for real. He has blown up many times in the past without thinking rationally. Cris can be very gentle and kind, but he blows up before thinking something through rationally most of the time. And when it comes to him getting Todd’s goat, I don’t care who does it, just about everyone in Llanview has been the victim of Todd’s maniacal behavior and I can’t blame anyone for taking a pot shot at Todd. I’d praise anyone who put Todd in his place.
