REFLECTIONS BY JILL for April 9, 2007

And there was Blair, mother of the year, planning her song list at Capricorn and starting a new career while her family is in shambles. I guess Blair is dumb enough to wonder why that guy hit on her in that nothing of a dress she was wearing. And leave it to Blair to be in the middle of a melee, knocking Cristian out with a bottle. Blair and Todd are so right for each other. More self-centered people than those two don’t exist.

Does there always have to be a smug, obnoxious guy on the show, or are we just blessed with rotten casting? Tate is a sickening addition to the show and the way he invades Adriana’s space makes my skin crawl. The fact that she doesn’t seem to hate it very much makes my skin crawl even more and Rex isn’t blind. He saw that she got a little crazy when Tate kissed Layla and he’s no fool. Adriana is not doing a good job of dealing with Tate and if she really wanted to, she’d be better at it. When Tate told Adriana that he has been known to be insatiable and could never get enough I nearly got sick to my stomach. Do women really fall for guys like that these days? Ewwww!!!

And Jessica signed the papers to adopt Jamie. That was really stupid. She signed them right in front of Nash to get back at him for causing the tension in her life. Hey, wake up Jessica. If you weren’t as in love with Nash as he is with you, you wouldn’t be so torn apart. Putting Jamie in the middle of this mess is really cruel. And Nash sure didn’t keep to his plan of five minutes ago when he said a stern good-bye to Jessica and vowed to stay away from her. That went out the window the next time he laid eyes on her. Antonio is no fool. He knows something is going on between them and I’d like to see him confront them and just get this all out in the open already.

Nora certainly stepped over the line when she walked into the police station and started yelling at everyone about the arson case not being solved yet. Even though she later apologized, she was harping on them again in the next scene when the next fire was set. Obviously, Nora has a lot to be upset about, but Bo was right when he reminded her that she wasn’t the only one hurt by the arsonist thus far and that his people were doing all they could to solve the case.

In case you haven’t heard, Phil Carey (Asa) has decided to quit the show after being offered recurring status. I can’t say that I agree with this. He didn’t have more than a recurring presence on the show when he was on contract and I personally think it is ungrateful for him to walk away like this. I don’t know how it will affect the upcoming shows that David will be appearing in. It wouldn’t be fair to the fans that have been so loyal to him for him to walk away and destroy a storyline we’ve all be waiting to see.

And in conclusion, I have an observation. Do you find it at all ironic that these days the most modestly dressed woman on the show is Natalie Buchanan? I am amazed at how many bare chests and cleavages we’ve been watching on this show. I know it might be the current style, but most of the women in Llanview are, shall we say, overexposed! There’s Blair of course, in a barely there dress, hanging out all over the place; there’s Jessica in a very low cut top that most of what she has hangs out of; Evangeline wears the same type of clothing and worst of all is Adriana, who probably could have walked around in a bikini top instead of that dress with the red bra hanging out and not been noticed any more. I am by no means a prude, but come on, half of Llanview is hanging out, literally and it’s hard to focus on anything else in the scene when half of the breasts in Llanview are taking up most of the airtime. Just an observation! And believe me, the chests on Rex and Tate don’t nearly even out the score!
