Reflections by Jill - A Weekly Commentary for OLTL for March 6, 2007

From Jill Berry

REFLECTIONS BY JILL for March 6, 2007

I don’t know why Dorian and Todd aren’t better friends. They both sure do enjoy making trouble for people and gloating over it. They have so much in common.

Let’s start with Dorian. I did get an initial good laugh out of her smashing that pie in Lindsay’s face at the diner in retaliation for Lindsay telling Viki about Dorian’s plan to mess up her date with Clint. But the longer those scenes went on, the more I wanted to smack Dorian. She got such joy out of embarrassing Lindsay and putting her on the spot when Paige showed up. I can see Dorian being mad at Lindsay (by her own demented reasoning), but Lindsay and Dorian were always partners in crime and Dorian went over the top with payback and she enjoyed it way too much. I don’t remember her ever smiling so happily in her life as when she stuck it to Lindsay, oh, except when she’s crawling all over Clint. She was like the cat that ate 10 canaries. I couldn’t believe it when Dorian came right out and told Paige that Lindsay was trying to break up her and Bo. I loved the way Paige held her own and let them stew wondering whether or not she’d tell Bo what they were up to.

And on toTodd. I can’t decide who loves to annoy people more, Todd or Dorian, but Todd is up there with the most annoying people I’ve ever had to watch. He takes such pleasure in bashing Cristian right to Evangeline’s face. He’s like a little boy who likes to push the envelope as far as he can to see what he can get away with, like when he saw that Cris was calling on Evangeline’s cell phone and didn’t tell her and especially when Cris came to Evangeline’s door and found her with Todd. And that fancy dinner and massage he planned for Evangeline was so “Todd” and if Evangeline is so in love with Cris and wanted to make things right, why take Todd up on his off which is definitely anything but “no strings.”

I don’t blame Cristian for calling it quits with Evangeline. She was stupid and weak for even opening her door to Todd, knowing how much he hates and wants to upset Cristian. And honestly, Cristian is becoming more of a pain in the butt boyfriend every day. Sure, he has a right to be mad at Evangeline and I don’t even blame him for wanting to call it quits since having a friend like Todd in Evangeline’s life will always cause trouble for them as a couple. But if Cristian has made the decision to cut Evangeline loose, then he needs to get over himself and move on. That scene at the hospital where he followed Todd out of Antonio’s room and decked him in the hall was awful. And shoving Evangeline out of the way (which is what it looked like to me) was so out of line it was ridiculous. He’s not right for Evangeline and she deserves better than a hothead who can’t contain himself when he gets angry. And she deserves more than a lunatic like Todd, too.

Okay, let’s talk about the other crazy triangle. Could Jessica and Nash have been any more ridiculous when they declared their love for each other and starting ripping each other’s clothes off while the club burned down around them? Give me a break! Did this cause anyone to flash back to Kelly and Duke getting it on during the tornado last year? And there was good buddy and wonderful husband, Antonio saving his wife’s life and going back into the fire because she wouldn’t leave without Nash. AND STILL Antonio doesn’t stop and wonder what the heck is going on with these two. I think he has started to get a feeling that something is up because he started asking questions in the hospital about why Jessica and Nash were in the storage room together in the first place. Holy Cow! I thought Cristian was going to bust a gut when he heard that. How much longer is he going to keep Jessica’s secret.

And I don’t care who doesn’t like Nash, but in spite of the fact that he fell in love with Antonio’s wife, he at least has the decency to feel guilty about what happened. Not that it’s going to stop him from pursuing Jessica. What a mess! I know, it was awful for them to start making out on the floor in the storage room and honestly, I blame Jessica a whole lot more than Nash because she married Antonio when she had a zillion doubts and if she didn’t keep putting herself in Nash’s way, his feelings wouldn’t have been encouraged. I guess out of guilt Jessica is going to tell Nash she’s staying with Antonio, but how long will that last?

So, John has hauled in Rex and Michael. Are those two kidding? They look and sound as guilty as sin and both of them were dumb enough to go to John and beg him to quit looking for Spencer’s killer because he wouldn’t like what he found. I think it’s hysterical that they each think the other is the killer and they’ve been protecting each other. That scene where they realized they were needlessly protecting each other was a riot. I have to give it to John Paul. The faces Rex pulls when he’s excited or stressed out are hysterical. I love this guy and he brings so much to the show.

Michael is right in worrying that John is going to figure out that the connection between him and Rex is Tommy. John is already figuring it out. And I love that Bo told John that if Michael or Rex were involved in the murder, he would try to work it out with Nora so that it looked like they were defending Blair. Hey, it pays to have a buddy and practically a family member in the big boss’s seat. And I commend Bo because even if it was Vincent who killed Spencer, I don’t think he should pay for it.

And speaking of Vincent, boy, I get tired of complaining about this guy but they keep annoying me with him. And I blame Natalie also for not just turning around and leaving the roof when he followed her up there. Do we need to hear from him that he wouldn’t shed a tear if Natalie and John went their separate ways? Hey, big surprise! He’s a creep and an opportunist and Layla said it best when she found him on the roof with Natalie and he asked why she cared what he was up to since she dumped him. Her response said it all when she replied, “I dumped you because you’re a lying crook!” I’m so glad that Layla dumped him and never succumbed to what he considers his wonderful charm. I hope she always remembers that she’s too good for him in 100 different ways.
