FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS

Nancy writes: “I read your comments about Starr, Cole and Langston and I totally agree with you. I love Starr and Cole and the friendship between Starr and Langston. I do not want to see any of it trashed. I love everything about Starr and Cole. And there is absolutely no chemistry between Cole and Langston.”

Dear Nancy: I don’t see any good reason for tearing Starr and Cole apart at this time. It’s obvious that Cole is going through a very rough time, dealing with losing both parents, being alone for the first time in his young life and just dealing with being a young man in today’s society having to deal with mature issues. I think the chemistry between Cole and Langston as friends is great; they can relate to each other on a level that Starr can’t understand even though she is a very smart and sensitive young woman. However, I think a romance developing from the friendship between Langston and Cole is just wrong. I think Langston and Starr have a wonderful friendship and I see no reason to rock the boat for these 16-year olds in that way. Sadly, they say that Cole will be gone later this year. I hope it is not true.

Danelle writes: “I love the new Michael. I am absolutely SICK of Marcie (yawn) and I want Nora and Bo back together! I am bracing myself for this Lindsay revival (she is so pathetic, gag). Do you ever wonder why none of the staff at Viki or Dorian's is ever seen? There could be some wonderful story lines there.

Dear Danelle: I love the new Michael, too. To be honest, I have to say that Marcie is wearing on my nerves and I hope they do something to bring her back to some semblance of who she used to be because I don’t want to see this new Michael saddled with a storyline where he is continually spending his time trying to get his wife out of her funk. Marcie’s grief has gone on long enough and we don’t spend half as many months dwelling on a storyline when characters are grieving over the death of a loved one. It’s nice to see that there are still a lot of Bo and Nora fans out there. I have to agree that I don’t want to see more of the same old conniving Lindsay, but when she and Nora tangle, I’m still glad she’s around. And LOL, as far as Viki and Dorian’s domestic help is concerned, I think it’s been about seven years since we’ve seen Lois, Viki’s housekeeper, although she is still around. I don’t think Viki has any other staff that has ever been mentioned. Dorian is another story. She has had tons of people in her employ, but she has very little respect for them and can never even remember their names. She treats them like the servants she thinks they are. I’m sure she fires at least two or three of them every week. You’re right about the fact that there could be some good storylines relating to the “help.” After all, look how much enjoyment we all get out of Nigel being around Asa’s mansion.

VLP writes: “I have been watching One Life to Live for several years, but somehow I missed the whole Natalie and Jessica twin thing. I thought I heard on an episode that Natalie and Jessica have a different father, but Viki is mother to both and they are twins. Clint is Natalie's father and Mitch Laurence is Jessica's father? So they are not twins?”

Dear VLP: Wow, I could live another whole lifetime without dealing with this storyline again. I don’t even remember all the details but it was a repulsive storyline. In a nutshell and without going into all the sordid history, it seems that Viki was pregnant by Clint and unbeknownst to her, she was raped around the same time by Mitch Laurence and we are supposed to believe that yes, Jessica and Natalie are twins (they were born at the same time) and supposedly tests have proven that Clint is Natalie’s father and Mitch was Jessica’s. If you believe that any DNA test in Llanview is valid, or if you believe that there isn’t more to the paternity of these sisters, I have a bridge I’d like to sell you.

Kitty writes: “I know we have to have villains but Ramsey is just not the one for me. What an obnoxious creep and an idiot besides! Now he has replaced Bo as commissioner. GIVE ME A BREAK! Do we really need this? I hope this story is a short one and someone wipes him out ASAP!”

Dear Kitty: I couldn’t agree with you more. To me, Ramsey is another Spencer Truman and although I think One Life to Live has the market cornered on finding the most horrific and obnoxious villains I’ve seen in a long time, I think we could have used more of a break between Spencer and Ramsey. I, too, hope he’s not around for long, but hey, I thought he’d be gone after he was arrested and suspended by the FBI. Silly me!
