REFLECTIONS BY JILL for February 27, 2007

From

So what do you think of Miles? If it’s true, his story is certainly a sad one. And on top of being abandoned in an institution by his father, never being known by his mother and growing up with no family at all, he finds out that Mitch Laurence is his brother, not to mention that ridiculous Todd look-alike, Walker. It was nice to see the Jessica side of her came out when she showed compassion for Miles and was willing to give him a chance even though his brother was literally the face of evil. And they sure shocked the heck out of Viki when they revealed that his name was Laurence. Viki, as always, is willing to play it day by day and give him a chance. I think she’s smart enough to be very careful about how far she lets him into her family. Miles is in awe of the fact that he has some family he never knew about, but he has to think about what everyone has been through. I mean, let’s face it, between Spencer and Mitch, Miles doesn’t have any role models that aren’t monsters. Poor guy.

Can we say it enough times? Rex is getting exactly what we knew he would get and that is a life of misery over the secret he’s keeping about little Tommy. I feel sorry for Rex, but it’s too bad he didn’t think his plan all the way through before he set out to decided everyone’s fate. He’s become too decent a man to live comfortably with such a horrible secret and giving Todd that death certificate was a last ditch attempt to put an end to the mess he created, but it was a very cruel blow to Todd. I don’t want to even think about what Todd is going to do to Rex when he finds out the truth about Tommy and he will soon enough. I am not too happy about the fact that Adriana is now trying to get Rex to keep the secret. This mess gets worse by the minute.

I knew it was only a matter of time before Marcie got suspicious enough of Michael to confront him about his lies. Michael is way out of control. If he’s not the killer (which I don’t believe he is) then he is doing a pretty good job of nailing his own coffin shut anyway. He can’t give Marcie a straight answer and he was a wild man with Natalie when he kept pushing her and begging her to get John to back off the case because John doesn’t really want to know whom the killer is. I died laughing when Natalie told Michael that she and John weren’t doing well right now and Michael said, “Are you two every doing well?” You have to love Michael; a stressed out man with a sense of humor. As it turns out, Michael and Rex each think the other committed the murder. Interesting.

And David is headed back to Llanview on March 6th and he’s going to deal with Asa (his daddy?) as well as Spencer’s murder. I can’t wait. There are pictures on this website of him showing off some of his best assets, if you get my drift, so enjoy!

And now John thinks Michael could very well be the killer, or at least he knows the evidence points to him, especially since he remembered Michael having his scarf around his neck. And of course, knowing him as well as she does, Natalie knows that John suspects Michael. Say what you will about Natalie, but no one gets John like she does.

And I’m sorry, but I can’t stand John confiding in Marty. I don’t really like her attitude and I don’t find her very compassionate. I guess John didn’t feel he could confide in anyone else who would be forced to keep the conversation confidential. Hey, maybe John and Nash should confide in each other. They could swear on a confidential pact and totally spill their guts to each other. Some people have commented on the chemistry between John and Marty. Personally I don’t see it. Of course I don’t want John to have chemistry with anyone other than Natalie, but honestly, I don’t see John’s and Marty’s personalities meshing at all.

Hey, at least Viki couldn’t break any limbs on her second date with Clint. Backgammon is a pretty safe game. Again, I have to ask if Viki really feels romantic feelings for Clint or if she just likes sticking it to Dorian, because when Clint asked her to spend the night, she laughed and said it would be fun just to see how much it would bug Dorian. Asa sure wants Clint and Viki together. He’s kind of funny. He’d have them at the altar tomorrow if he had his way. I laughed when he said, “You belong together, you two lovers.”

And what about Starr? I don’t know about you, but as a teenager, when I used to baby sit, the one big rule was NO BOYS!!! When Starr invited Cole over while she was watching Tommy I said, oh no, here comes trouble.

In conclusion, I didn’t think I was going to get many laughs last week, but I can always count on Roxy. I thought she was hysterical when she went up to Marcie’s apartment and asked if Marcie had an extra knitting needle because she was trying to use hers to dig a bottle of vodka out of her freezer and it bent and now not only can’t she knit, but she doesn’t have the vodka. When she asked Marcie if she had either a knitting needle or a bottle of vodka I laughed because Roxy is hysterical all by herself and also because I love the reactions she gets from people like Marcie, “normal people.” And I’m sure Roxy thinks she knits much better after having knocked back a few.

I thought Nelly Furtado was okay, but I don’t really enjoy real-life entertainment on soaps that much. I prefer the airtime devoted to the guts of the storylines.

See ya next week.
