FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS

Jamie writes: “I am still upset that there was no funeral or any kind of service for Marty. I would think that Cole would have wanted to honor his mother in some way. Plus, I would think it would have helped with his grieving process. I am still hoping that Marty is not dead and she will return.”

Dear Jamie: I agree with you. I don’t understand why there wasn’t any kind of memorial service for Marty, especially with Viki, Nora and many others being close to Marty. Of course Viki was in Texas and found out about Marty’s death while she was there, but she did come home and there should have been something done then. Even if they do plan to bring her back somewhere down the road, she wasn’t sent off in a very respectful way, was she? I guess the show thought it was more important to dwell on the guy who caused her death (Ramsey) and isn’t it sad that we have to dwell on another Spencer, rather than dealing with what’s really important.

Sharon writes: “Allison Perkins is back and now Ramsey will be the new police commissioner? Is this show a remake of The Twilight Zone? Ramsey is an attempted murderer, and a kidnapper, so how can he be the head of the police? The only reason is that I can figure out is the Mayor is crooked and he knows Ramsey will play. This show is going down the toilet in a big way. Now they are set to break up Cole and Starr. Why can't just one couple be happy? The show is so dark anymore. I'm going to watch my videos of Ben and Viki. I still say theirs was one of the best love stories ever on a soap. They've brought other characters back from the dead so WHERE IS BEN!”

Dear Sharon: It sure does feel like the Twilight Zone, doesn’t it? Obviously, the mayor has an agenda of his own and he has made it clear that he couldn’t achieve his own agenda while Asa was pulling all the strings with his connections. And even though Bo feels that Lindsay was just an excuse the mayor used to get rid of him, the mayor would have had to work a lot harder to get rid of him if he hadn’t taken in Lindsay. I am also unhappy about the turn of events coming up for Cole and Starr. They are a very cute young couple and stirring up trouble for them after all they’ve been through is just wrong. And hey, need I say that I agree with you completely about Ben and Viki. I know he’s somewhere out there and I say we find him. Hmmm, and speaking of tapes, my office is closed today due to the snow in the Northeast and looking at some of those old tapes is sounding better and better.

Disonaba3 writes: “Are TPTB EVER going to reunite Natalie & John? And if so, when? This is why I don't watch any more. We got to see them together and in flashbacks, John had gone so far as to imagine having children with Nat. He knew her better than anyone and we got to see them break up! WHY?”

Dear Disonaba3: I wish I could tell you that I knew when John and Natalie would get back together and I wish I knew that it would actually happen one day. The fact is that I have no idea and it seems like Natalie and Jared are headed for a serious relationship one of these days, so I don’t know what that means for Natalie and John in the long run. I agree that there is something very special between these two. They know each other so well and they care about each other on a level that transcends everything they have been through together, good and bad. Most couples cannot say that. Most couples move on and that’s the end of their close relationship. For John and Natalie, the bond never seems to break or even lessen in strength. I’d love to see them back together one day. Who knows? Anything is possible.

Alison writes: “Just had to answer your query about how many Bo/Nora fans are still out there, because I wanted to say I am definitely one of them! As a veteran OLTL viewer, I've seen many couples and Bo and Nora were one of most realistic and fun ever! The characters and actors got along so well and I always felt it was a terrible shame that the writers took them apart. I loved the recent conversation, again realistic, between them, as they shared feelings and reflected upon their past. Nora really had a point when she asked how Bo could forgive Lindsay, who did far worse things, but not Nora. Although infidelity is something not often forgiven, at least her intentions were good, though misguided. Well, just wanted you to know that yes, there is another Bo/Nora fan out there and I have really hoped for a reconciliation.”

Dear Alison: I’m glad to hear from any Bo and Nora fans and actually, I have heard from more than one this week. I just love the couples that have great history of caring about each other and Bo and Nora have a lot that the writers can draw on to make them a great couple again. Will it happen? The more I see them in this storyline together, the more I still think there are plans for them down the road. I still don’t understand why Bo can forgive everything that Lindsay did and somehow has never been able to forgive Nora, but maybe it’s the fact that he loved Nora so much that the hurt was much deeper than anything Lindsay could have done. I don’t think Bo ever loved anyone that deeply until Gabrielle came into his life and he was very hurt when he lost her. Maybe he just feels safer when the emotional tie is not that strong. Then he can’t get hurt that badly.
