REFLECTIONS BY JILL for February 4, 2008

From Jill Berry, for About.com

Oh joy! Blair and Todd are back together AGAIN! What round are we in with these two this time? Blair was smart to doubt her relationship with Todd and tell him that he had to take Sam and move out of Dorian’s house. It’s just too bad she is such a pushover and bought into Todd’s “I love you so much” line. Oh, I do believe he does love her in his own sick way (or the only way he knows how), but I didn’t hear him give one valid reason why Blair should believe that they have a chance of making their marriage work this time. But nobody knows Blair as well as Todd does and let’s face it; she is a pushover for flattery and sex and Todd pulled the big guns on her (no pun intended).

You know that Blair and Todd are in major trouble when their 16-year old daughter has a better grip on reality than they do. If there is one thing that Starr has always wanted and dreamed about more than anything, it is that her parents reunite and they become a real family. However, even Starr has grown up and matured to the point where she doesn’t even have any faith in her parents staying together. I don’t know why Blair was surprised that Starr wasn’t jumping up and down for joy at the reunion, but Starr said it all when she looked her mother in the eyes and said, “You and dad exhaust me.” Thank you Starr; their insane life exhausts me, too.

Three cheers for Addie. She is providing us with at least some of the laughter we lost when we lost David Vickers. Her wardrobe these days is hysterical. I died laughing when she barged in on Todd and Blair naked in bed and I loved her Aikido outfit, not to mention the way she put Todd in his place and threatened, “If you hurt my daughter or my grandchild, I’ll hurt you worse.” I’ll bet Todd never expected Addie to plaster him up against the door and slam him with her Marshall Arts expertise and after only two lessons. Addie was also adorable when she showed up in Viki’s kitchen in her chef’s outfit. I laughed my head off when she told Viki, Natalie and Miles that she was in bed at Dorian’s house with a handsome man who sleeps in his tee shirt and boxer shorts. Well, Viki already knows that, doesn’t she?

And how much has Todd really changed? While Blair is dealing with a screaming little Sam, Todd is downstairs listening to Ramsey going on and on about eliminating Gigi to save his own skin. I wasn’t surprised that Ramsey offered to kill Gigi and I wasn’t surprised that Todd listened to him and didn’t toss him right out the door when he made the suggestion. Will Todd remain involved with Ramsey? Ramsey is going down. Will he take Todd with him?

For Starr, I think there is going to be some hurt down the line. Langston and Cole are planning a surprise Sweet Sixteen party for her and sure, they have their heads together for a good cause and Starr will be sorry she doubted them, but there is definitely something happening between Langston and Cole. They can both feel it and it obviously scares them to death. Starr was very astute when she told Blair that she was upset and jealous about Langston and Cole’s time together but that she understands they share a bond over a horrible experience that anyone who hasn’t gone through it can’t possibly understand. I would hate to see Langston and Cole bond in such a way that it threatens or hurts Starr’s relationship with Cole and more importantly, Starr and Langston’s friendship.

I don’t know how many Bo/Nora fans are left out there, but I am still one of them and I have to say that my favorite scenes of the week were the ones between these two characters. They have always had so much unfinished business and I think it’s time they dealt with it. Bo sure opened up the confrontation when he asked Nora, “How long are you going to keep up this nonsense with Clint?” I think Nora was right to press Bo for answers when she said, “I’m tired of being hated by someone who meant so much to me.” I don’t care what Bo says; I definitely believe that he never got over his feelings for Nora because he never really dealt with them. Bo could never accept someone lying to him and betraying him, so his bitterness and hurt over what happened all those years ago has never allowed him to deal with his feelings for Nora. It does stand out for me that Bo didn’t have half as much to say about Nora’s life when she married Daniel Coulson, even though he didn’t really approve of Daniel, as he does now that she is seeing Clint. I also think that Nora has feelings for Bo that she had to put aside because Bo never gave her a second chance to prove her feelings for him. Bo’s comments wouldn’t bother Nora so much if she didn’t still have residual feelings for him. It was good that Bo admitted that he could never shake the memory of Nora and Sam and that when he sees her, he always sees the woman who let him down and not the woman he once loved. I thought that was so sad.

I think Nora needs to stop asking why what she did was so unforgivable because lots of people would not be able to forgive what she did and would not fight for the marriage and give her a second chance. It’s obvious that Nora so deeply regrets what happened and that she and Bo lost each other and at this point I would love to think that this couple could face their true feelings (not just for their son) and see if there is anything left to build on. Matthew is very grown up at this point, at least grown up enough to deal with his parents honestly dealing with each other. And let’s face it; nothing rang truer than Nora’s comment to Bo when she said, “Why can you forgive Lindsay for the horrible things she did and not forgive me?” Bo was never more honest than when he said, “I didn’t think I had enough fight left in me and didn’t have the confidence to get it back.” I was glad that the conversation ended on a decent note and they reminded each other that they have a good friendship, but obviously there was something that Nora was going to tell him and she thought better of it when they were interrupted. What was it?
