REFLECTIONS BY JILL for January 7, 2008

From Jill Berry, for About.com

Nobody cared that he could have gotten very ill with from asthma attack. All they cared about was that they wanted Marcie and Tommy there at any cost and didn’t give a damn about how terrified Gigi was for her son. You could tell that Todd was at least a little bit uncomfortable with holding her son, but not nearly enough to stop Ramsey. I don’t know what Todd is paying Ramsey, but it’s so obvious that Ramsey is in this to get back at John and Todd doesn’t care about that either. Ramsey is a maniac and even Todd could see that when he fired his gun and shot Michael when he could have shot Tommy instead. Once again, Todd got into something that got out of hand when he lost control of the situation.

I have to say that I couldn’t believe that Marcie would just leave Michael lying on the ground with a bullet in his shoulder so that she could get away with Tommy. She has gone completely over the edge and I’m glad she’s finally going to be caught, but not before she holds Viki hostage with that gun she picked up off the ground after Ramsey lost it.

I have to give credit to Gigi. That is one tough girl. No matter what happened she was able to keep her wits about her and cause a diversion that would signal Marcie to run and keep Shane safe at the same time. I don’t blame Gigi a bit for heading Marcie off at the pass because the fact that Marcie has Tommy was probably a plus in Gigi’s mind once she found out what a maniac Todd could be. Was she supposed to think he was a good and caring father when he showed up with a maniac like Ramsey waving a gun around and threatening her son? Sure, sure, Todd wants his son back. His methods are disgusting and if he thinks that it’s okay to hold Gigi’s son even for a day and it’s not so bad because it’s not nearly as long as he’s been without his son, then he’s out of his mind. And I can only shake my head in wonder at anyone who thinks what he did was okay because it was all in the name of getting his son back.

And speaking of lunatics, we’re back in court with Lindsay. Don’t you hate those scenes where the judge says one thing and you think things are going a certain way and then she says, “I’m not through yet” and things change every five seconds? First the judge decided that Lindsay was fit to stand trial. Then she said that even though Lindsay was fit now, she was insane at the time of the murder so she is dropping the charges by reason of temporary insanity. Then she wants someone to be Lindsay’s guardian because Lindsay’s lawyer has convinced her that it would be bad for Lindsay to go back to St. Ann’s. I nearly died laughing when Addie popped up and said she would be Lindsay’s guardian. Gee, talk about the patients running the asylum. Addie is too funny. Obviously Dorian didn’t take to the idea of Addie recommending that she be Lindsay’s guardian. And all of those concerned Cramer women were there to support Lindsay, but no one wanted to take her in. In their defense, La Boulaie is a crazy house these days with Dorian taking on Langston, Starr dealing with Cole’s problems and before you know it, maybe poor little Tommy/Sam will be added to the mess.

And there sat Nora, going from smiling like the cat that ate the canary when she thought she was going to put Lindsay in prison, to being dumbstruck when the judge dropped the charges. Nora wanted to smack both Bo and RJ when they were arguing with each other over who would be the better guardian for Lindsay. Nora definitely thinks everyone in Llanview except for herself has lost their minds. Now Lindsay is going back to St. Ann’s to think about who she wants to be her guardian. Oh boy. Could this get any more ridiculous? I think the funniest thing in the whole world would be for Nora to be her guardian. Can you picture that? Bo is going to get custody of Lindsay and that should take us down a whole new path. Watch out Bo, you’ve been here before.

Let’s not forget the one funny point in the week. Well, maybe it wasn’t so funny for Roxy, but although I did feel sorry for her when she poured out her heart to Miles and he tried to let her down easily by telling her that they are great friends but not romantic partners, I died laughing when she got mad and turned on him, making him take off the boxers she gave him for Christmas and give them back to her. What was even funnier was when she ran back into the room and threw the boxers at him when she realized that already-used underwear could not be returned. It would have been even funnier if she had tried to return them to Adriana and Layla.

It has been announced that Melissa Gallo will be leaving the show early this year, so out goes Adriana and I guess in comes Gigi. That’s okay with me. I think we have some possibly interesting couples in the works and my hope is that for the New Year we get to see some good storylines flourish and some overdone storylines disappear. It’s time for Marcie to stop running; for the name Spencer Truman never to be uttered again; for John McBain to smile a little bit; for Natalie to find some happiness and sanity in her life and for Viki to have some good fun, some good lovin’ (LOL) and someone who will be a true and loving partner to her. I don’t think these things are too much to ask for. Do you?

See ya next week.
