Surprise, Surprise! We haven’t seen the last of good ole' Asa Buchanan. I wonder how many videos he made that will haunt his family over the coming years. Well, this one was a doozy, with Asa sitting at his desk, admonishing his family for not being able to push the company forward and for letting the B.E. stock sink. So, now they all lose everything and Asa is turning over the entire company to his “beloved” heir, David Vickers and it is up to the entire family to stop David from whatever he will do.
I had to laugh watching that video as Asa addressed his family members, telling Nora to pack her bags; telling Bo to get the mayor to give him a salary; and telling Clint to see if Viki would take him back since she is still loaded while the rest of them are “flat-assed broke.” Wow, talk about reaching a hand out from the grave, Asa gives new meaning to the term “gone but not forgotten.”
And how much do we love having David Vickers back. Oh, excuse me, I should say David Vickeroshi. I died laughing when he said that name with a straight face, although Tuc Watkins does every ridiculous thing with a straight face, which is what makes him priceless. So the story goes that David was on a plane that nearly crashed. He was sitting next to a man who was totally calm and when David asked him how he could be so calm, the man simply said, “I do not fear losing my life because I have my soul.” They make it safely off the plane and David goes to stay with this guy and finds all the people there so happy and they had no material possessions. Do we believe this so far?
So David says he finally found the answer in giving up everything he had. I died laughing when he told Viki and Charlie that he wanted to atone for all his sins and Viki said, “Oh, then I guess you’ll be around for a while.” Well, the first thing David wants to atone for is not telling Viki the truth, so he proceeds to tell her and Charlie the truth about what Dorian did to Charlie, slipping him that drug and getting him drunk so she could keep him from blabbing the truth about Jared being his son before she could complete her plan to take over B.E. Viki, of course, was horrified and furious at Dorian and she and Charlie ran over to confront her. Was anyone surprised that Dorian denied the whole incident? Dorian knows that Viki is not through with her and she makes plans to flee from town. She conveniently finds the plane tickets that John bought for himself and Blair to get away (even though that idea fell through) and she gets the idea to go to St. Blazes. What a coincidence!
Dorian arrives in St. Blazes and is enjoying the beauty of the island when she runs into Alex Olanov, who owns the island since Nigel gave it to her to shut her up about David being Asa’s son. Dorian tells Alex that Asa hates her and would never leave her the island and Alex tells her, “I could have gotten anything I wanted out of Asa. All I ever needed was a bikini, some pork rinds and a satellite dish.” That was hysterical.
The two vixens confront each other and Alex gives away a little too much information when she tells Dorian that she fled Asa’s ranch so fast last year that she hit a coyote with her car on the way out. Could this have gotten any funnier when Dorian remembered being run down at the ranch and said, “That wasn’t a coyote, you idiot, that was me!” So, Alex blows Dorian off saying she didn’t mean to hit her, but Dorian has other ideas and uses a threat to sue Alex to get her to cough up some valuable information. I guess now Dorian will have more ammunition against the Bukes and I think she will take another run at a takeover of the company. I get tired thinking about how that woman’s mind works.
So, David continues his path to reform and head over to see Addie. He apologizes to her for using her to manipulate Dorian into giving him part of B.E. and apologized to Addie for marrying her when he never loved her. Addie, of course, isn’t shocked at all and tells him that neither of them married for love and she knew his motivation all along. I loved the scene where Shawn comes in while David is apologizing for giving away the dog (his namesake) and lets David know that the dog was wearing a coat that was holding zillions of dollars worth of jewels. David did everything in his new powers to control himself and meditate his way out of having a heart attack for giving up all that money. After a few deep, very shaky breaths, he seemed okay. I’m sure he’s not. It is going to be a riot watching what happens now that David and his new Buddhist lifestyle have walked right back into the lion’s den, a/k/a the Buchanan family, not to mention a monstrous inheritance.
Marty is finally getting back at Todd for what he did to her. She did a beautiful job of doing to him exactly what he does to everyone else; she manipulated him into a corner, gave him a false sense of security and then blew the entire roof off of his hopes and dreams. Give the woman a standing ovation! It was great thinking on Marty’s part to go over to Todd’s house to retrieve her journal from under the mattress and to sit there reading parts of it to him to show him just how badly he hurt her. He’s getting the point that she hates the sight of him, but he still can’t say anything other than the fact that he loves her and wants them to start over. This guy is a broken record.
Marty decides to take a room at The Palace and complete her plan to destroy Todd so she calls him and tells him she has thought about things and invites him over, giving him hopes that they can start over. Marty’s greatest line was telling Todd that she needs him to make her remember why she hates him so she can stop loving him. She says that as much as she hates him, she loves him more. Sure, this gives Todd hope that they can be together and he suggests that they start over and forget the past ever happened. OMG, is he crazy? I thought that was crazy, but then his next line made my jaw drop when he said, “I’ve had you on my mind all these years and it has kept me from doing a lot of bad stuff.” WHAT? I shudder to think what he would have done all these years if he hadn’t had her on his mind. Is he for real?
