Reflections by Jill - A Weekly Commentary for OLTL

REFLECTIONS BY JILL for January 1, 2007

From

I have such mixed emotions about Todd these days. Such a big part of me want to just sit back and say he deserves all the misery in his life because he so obviously brings it all on himself, but at the same time I always hold out hope that every time he does something stupid that hurts the people he loves, he’ll learn from it and use his head the next time. Of course he wouldn’t be Todd if he learned from his mistakes, but I would like to think that even though everyone tells him not to blame himself for losing his son and almost losing Blair, he will hold himself responsible for dragging Spencer to that warehouse in the first place and how it led to Blair falling off that roof. Todd should take Viki’s advice to stay away from Spencer and take care of his own house.

And who could blame Blair when she found out she had lost the baby and told Todd she wanted to be alone but really meant she wanted her family and not him? I guess Blair found her soft spot for Todd because she sure did clear him with Bo, at least for now. She conveniently omitted the fact that when Spencer knocked Todd out he threatened her and forced her to come to the warehouse with money. Of course that would have put the spotlight of suspicion right on Todd regarding how Spencer got there in the first place. I have a feeling that even if they have a rocky road ahead of them, Blair is always going to find it in her heart to forgive Todd. And hey, did they find a bundle of money on Blair when she was taken to the hospital?

I guess Marty is finally getting a taste of what Spencer is really like, but when will she admit that he’s not insane and just a degenerate, sub-human being? She got a good sample of Spencer’s venom when she went to his hospital room and he told her he takes no responsibility for what happened on that roof and that Todd pushed him and Blair. And did your mouth hang open like mine did when Spencer said that Todd was “nothing more than a minion of Satan?” Spencer should look in the mirror. He’s more than a minion; he could apply for and get the top job down there. And in case Marty didn’t get the hint about Spencer’s true intentions, he gave it to her straight when he warned her that if she recanted her testimony about his mental state, she’d be the one to be hurt.

I was sorry that when John went after Spencer’s throat it was explained away because of the drugs he was on. I would have liked to see him go after Spencer with a clear head.

And who is Marty kidding telling John that he never gave her a chance to tell him who she is? She had plenty of time on her two visits to him. And now maybe she is starting to see the error of her ways by helping John back to his room before anyone could find out that he tried to kill Spencer. I love that cop they have stationed outside Spencer’s door. He’d let someone go in there with a machine gun and denied he ever saw a thing.

I don’t think I’m warming up to Marty much these days, especially after her visits with John. That first visit was ridiculous. I find it funny that she didn’t listen to what anyone had told her about Spencer when she vouched for his insanity on the stand, but she walked into John’s hospital room having knowledge about him that made her think she knew what made him tick. She just annoys me and she proved how unprofessional she is when she eavesdropped on John and Natalie’s conversation at his door when they didn’t know she was there.

Well, it sure looks like Viki and Clint are headed for go ‘round #3. Need I say again that I am not in favor of this pairing? LOL, all the Viki/Clint fans are yelling, “No, you don’t need to say it again, so shut up!” Honestly, I can see Clint falling for Viki again easier than I can see Viki falling for him. They had a good conversation while Viki was taking down the Christmas decorations. It’s very realistic that she would feel that empty nest syndrome in that big house all by herself now that her kids are gone; and I can understand Clint saying he thought he’d always wind up back at Llanfair. But somehow I don’t see those as reasons for this couple to get together again.

And although I’m right up there with the fans who love a good bout between Dorian and Viki, I have to say that it kind of makes my skin crawl to see Viki get down on Dorian’s level to fight with her over any man, let alone Clint. I guess Dorian knows how to bring out the worst in everyone, even Viki, like when Viki got exasperated with her and taunted her by showing her the necklace Clint bought her for Christmas with a “nah nah nah nah nah” attitude. That being said, I’d have to be dead not to have died laughing at how much fun Viki was having getting down in the dirt with Dorian when Dorian went over to Llanfair to supposedly thank Viki for what she said to Adriana that brought her back to her mother. Finding Clint and Viki talking about their kiss while Viki held the mistletoe in her hand had to kill Dorian. And of course before he left, Clint had to tell Dorian that he’d call her because he wanted to hear about her Christmas. Clint loves being the cream in this Oreo cookie, doesn’t he?
