Rex and Gigi continue reading Rick’s letters to Lily when Otto walks in, Rex knows that Otto hasn’t been completely honest. Otto begins to tell the whole story: 30 years ago Rick was summoned to Atlantic City where he & his father had to work off a debt owed to the mob. A mobster named Pete made Rick write the goodbye letter to Lily. When Lily came to AC to confront Rick, Pete said that Rick was dead. Lily returned to Santa Fe without Rex and died of a broken heart. Otto brings Rex & Gigi to Lily’s grave, after seeing his mother grave, Rex & Gigi head back to Llanview.
Todd returns to his office, where Kelly is working on the story regarding Ford. Todd tells Kelly about Hannah disappearing, Kelly thinks that the police have her somewhere Todd can’t get to her and asks that he leave everything alone and let the police handle it. Kelly gets flowers from Reed and sees that Todd is very jealous, though he’s trying to hide it. Kelly gets a call from the hospital, she leaves. Todd calls his P.I. and asks if he has any new info on Hannah.
Jess learns that Ford has been hurt and thinks that she is to blame for it. Viki returns home and sees that something is wrong with Jessica. Jess explains that she was just thinking about how many people she’s hurt and has to make up for what she’s done. Viki reminds Jessica that everyone understands why Jessica did what she did. Viki tells Jessica not to worry about anything. With Viki out of the room, Jessica calls the hospital to get info on Ford. She isn’t family so they give her no information, Jessica decides to head to the hospital, wherein she overhears John vowing to catch the person who tried to kill Ford.
Dorian confronts Langston about Ford’s attack, Langston is just about to divulge some information when Detective Price shows up asking questions about Markko’s whereabouts. Dorian tells Langston not to say a word until her lawyer gets there, Price takes this as his cue to leave. Dorian asks Langston if she had anything to do with what happened to Ford. Langston admits that she left her apartment to go see Ford again, but she decided against it when she got to his apartment. Langston swears that she has nothing to do with the attack on Ford. While Langston is in her room, Dorian calls Elijah who hurries over. Langston thought that Dorian believed her, but is starting to rethink it when she sees a lawyer. Dorian explains that Elijah is just there for protection, just in case they need it.
John runs into Markko at the hospital and inquires about his injury, Markko explains that he ran into a wall but that story is contradicted by a doctor who says that the only way Markko could’ve gotten that injury is by hitting someone. Price shows up and fills John in on his run in with Langston and Dorian. Markko admits that he walked in on Ford and Langston and he hit Ford, went home to pack and then went to the Buenos Dias to spend the night. John finds it hard to believe that Markko could just fall asleep after being so riled up, but Markko insists that when he arrived at the Buenos Dias he didn’t leave until this morning. John tells Markko that he can go, but not to leave town. Markko hurries out of the hospital. John tells Price that he thinks Markko is lying and wants to find out what really happened. . .
