History of Gigi Morasco:

Gigi was abandoned by her parents when they found out she was pregnant. Her boyfriend at the time, Rex, took off for Llanview before Gigi could tell him she was pregnant. She met Brody Lovett who was with her when her baby was born but Brody joined the military and they lost contact. Years later Gigi contacted his mother who told her Brody died. For many years Gigi convinced her son that Brody was his father after never finding Rex. She moved to Paris, Texas where she worked as a waitress at the Bon Jour café and after several years, Rex stopped in one day on a case he was working on asking for information. Gigi wanted to tell him about Shane but didn’t when Rex revealed he was getting engaged.

Gigi ended up in Llanview to tell Rex the truth but his fiancée, Adriana Cramer, finds out about Shane and convinces Gigi to keep Brody’s in Shane’s mind as his father and not to interfere in their lives. Adriana investigates Brody’s whereabouts and finds that he is still alive! She offers him money to keep Gigi out of her and Rex’s lives. At their wedding, Gigi stands up to confess her love for Rex and as a complete surprise to Gigi, Brody walks through the chapel doors in full military uniform. Trying to be with Brody, Gigi is filled with guilt over her own lie to her son and tells Rex who is furious with Adriana for withholding the truth. Rex divorces Adriana and tries to build a future with Gigi and Shane when Brody is asked to leave. Gigi’s sister Stacy appears at a charity event they attend months after and follows them home. Stacy has always loved Rex and wants him for herself.

Soon after, Shane is diagnosed with Leukemia and needs a blood donor. Stacy fakes being a match to win Rex’s love and blackmails his mother, Roxanne to help her. Roxanne is at Stacy’s mercy and goes along. Gigi visits the hospital chapel praying for a miracle for Shane, expressing out loud she will do “whatever it takes” to save her son. Overhearing her plea, Stacy proudly announces she is a match but unbeknownst to Gigi, Stacy tells her she wants something in return for her help otherwise Shane dies. Shocked and angry with Stacy’s demands, Gigi convinces Rex she no longer wishes to be with him and “fakes” an affair with Brody. After Rex catches them in bed together, he focuses his attention on Stacy admitting Gigi “betrayed him beyond repair”. Rex begins to see Stacy in a new light after Shane’s blood transfusion and they have sex. Roxanne confronts Gigi to tell her Stacy is not the real donor and they tell Rex everything. Weeks later, Stacy announces she’s pregnant with Rex’s baby. After Stacy stays quiet about losing the baby weeks later following an argument with Gigi, she enlists the help of her friend, Kim to come up with a plan to keep Rex believing she is still pregnant.

Gigi befriends Schuyler Joplin who works with her at Rodi’s and they begin to fall in love. On a snowy, stormy night, Schuyler sets out to see Gigi confessing he needs to tell her something about Stacy’s baby but never arrives. Unable to reach him on his cell phone, Gigi sets out to find him but instead, Gigi rescues Stacy after being kidnapped and thrown into the cold by Mitch. Stacy goes into early labor and Gigi delivers her baby girl. Gigi realizes something is wrong with baby, Sierra and sets out into the snowstorm to take her to the hospital. Gigi falls through the ice but Rex saves her and Sierra. Stacy goes to find them and asks Gigi to take care of her daughter for her and falls through a thin sheet of ice and drowns. Shortly after learning Stacy lost Rex’s baby early on, Gigi learns from Schuyler that it’s his baby! Unsuccessfully trying to convince Gigi that Stacy drugged him, Gigi breaks up with Schuyler and they are now in a bitter custody battle over her niece, Sierra Rose. After Oliver Fish is declared Sierra’s biological father, Gigi removes her boxing gloves and allows Oliver full custody. She leaves for New Mexico with Rex to find his biological parents. They end up in jail after breaking into a jewelry shop but are released by the shop owner, Penny, who helps them find more clues. They return to Llanview after Rex learns the identity of his parents.

Gigi comforts Natalie after she sleeps with Brody and becomes pregnant. Gigi is concerned with Rex’s business relationship with Kelly Cramer and confronts her. Gigi later receives an unexpected offer from L.U. to work as Cris Vega’s Art assistant - posing nude male models! Gigi argued with Rex after slapping Adriana for uncovering secrets about their lack-of- sex life. Later, she refused Cris’ advances while on a trip to Paris to see Layla. Gigi tries to get along with Rex’s birth mother, Echo.
