On Wednesday, May 10, 2000 a relative unknown actor made his first appearance on One Life to Live. It was reported this newcomer named Ty Treadway, beat out such popular actors as Ian Buchanan (ex-Duke, GH) and Robert Kelker-Kelly (ex-Bo, DOOL). Ty was cast in the role as Dr. Colin McIver, the estranged husband of Dr. Melanie McIver, played by another newcomer to the show, Darlene Vogel. But despite the fact that Ty had never appeared on a soap opera before hasn't stopped him from becoming one of the favorites on the show. One of Ty's fans writes, "My favorite actor is Ty Treadway. He has talent, charisma, and is a true natural for acting. Did I mention he's drop-dead gorgeous! Llanview wouldn't be the same without this hunk! The famous kidnapper, I would love to be his prisoner," quotes Debbie. Another fan, known as "C" writes: "Colin is great and good looking. Too bad Lindsay made him turn, hopefully Nora will be the key to saving his career."

Ty Treadway was born in Trenton, New Jersey on February 11, 1967. He was the youngest of seven children. After high school, Ty received an athletic scholarship to attend Rider University, but later transferred to the College of New Jersey. He graduated with a degree in accounting, and went on to work at the New Jersey State Legislature as an accountant, and also worked as a computer systems engineer. Ty also competed in the "Mr. Natural Pennsylvania" bodybuilding title, and won. From there, he decided to move to New York to pursue his modeling and acting career. Ty did some theater and commercials, and also appeared in an issue of GQ Magazine.

"He landed a role on the television series Just Shoot Me"

Hollywood, California was Ty's next stop. He landed a role on the television series Just Shoot Me, where he played a repairman in the episode called "Jack Vents", which first aired on November 9, 1999. Ty also appeared in an episode of Ally McBeal, as well as doing some acting in several independent films. Currently, Ty is co-producing and starring in a film entitled Or Forever Hold Your Peace, which is described as a dark comedy about friendship, religion, and family. The film is due out later this fall.

Ty's OLTL's alter-ego Dr. Colin McIver has been involved with leading lady Nora Buchanan. The storyline has been centered around Nora's "death" from a train crash. It was Colin who had first found and rescued Nora from certain death. Colin took his patient to Cherryvale, who was still in a coma at the time. Later, Nora mumbled the name Lindsay Rappaport, which was the name of his former sister-in-law. It was after Lindsay came to the hospital when Colin's life was about to take a turn for the worst. He got caught up in Lindsay's plan to keep Nora "dead" for awhile longer. Part of the scheme involved taking Nora to his own home where he could continue to treat her, but not allow anyone to see her either. After realizing what she had done, Lindsay felt she had to make a drastic decision to save herself from being blamed for what her and Colin had done. She made a deal with R.J. Gannon, and was able to get a hold of a "memory-erasing" drug. After struggling with Nora and Colin, Lindsay was able to inject the drug into Nora. Colin immediately rushed to Cherryvale Clinic to get another drug which acts as an antidote and injected it into Nora. Shortly after, Todd Manning breaks into Colin's house and takes Nora himself, where he temporarily hides her in a convent. Nora luckily finds the strength to leave the convent and shows up with Todd on the doorstep of Sam Rappaport.

Since Nora's return she has been struggling with her memory, and despite the fact she received another dose of the antidote, she is still missing the last few years of her life. Which has been a big relief to Lindsay, Todd, and even Colin. But with Will Rappaport's return to the states, things will finally begin to change, including the arrest of Colin. The majority of fans will also be anxiously awaiting for the arrest of Lindsay Rappaport, the person most responsible for Nora's troubles.

Ty has no doubt already made his mark on the show so far, and acquired a great deal of fans as well. Ty has also been keeping himself busy this year with appearance at many charity events. Early this year, he attended the 5th Annual Sing-A-Long Spectacular in Staten Island, New York, which was a benefit held for Rainbow's Hope. He also helped raise $8,000 for the Brooklyn's Shorefront Friends for Hospice by participating in the 2nd Annual Tammy Rubin Rice Celebrity Softball Game.

While not working on the set of One Life to Live, one of Ty's favorite getaways is traveling to Jamaica. Recently quoted in SOD, Ty stated "It's very laid back", and "I really love the music and the food". When he isn't snorkeling or diving, Ty would most likely be found mingling with the natives, whom he expressed as being very friendly people. Ty's private life seems to be just that...private. However, he has been seen several times hanging out with his girlfriend Monica Surratt, who has been seen cheering him on some of the charity events he has attended this past year.

It's hard to speculate at this point on the status and length of Ty's contract with the OLTL, but most fans are hoping he will stay. It's up to the writers and executive producer on which direction they will be taking the storyline next. However, if the fans have anything to say about it, Ty Treadway will be in Llanview for some time to come.
