I
must say that Kristen Alderson "Starr" impressed me beyond compare.
She is such an intelligent and well-spoken young lady.
She and her brother Eddie "Matthew" had arrived with their mother and another
woman, and were the first people sought out by the photographers.
That Eddie is a cutie and I wouldn’t doubt he winds up being next
year’s scene-stealer! I should
explain also that the room was set up with about six or seven tables of ten, a
buffet table and a table with sodas, juices and water bottles.
To interview Kristen I knelt on the floor between she and her brother.
The first thing I asked her was how she felt working with her brother.
Young Kristen replied, “Well, I haven’t actually filmed any scenes
with him yet, but I very much like having him at the studio with me.”
Wow, nice sister, I thought. Kristen
explained that she is nothing like Starr. She
said that Starr might be pretty sarcastic and nasty on the show during the day
but Kristen doesn’t take that home with her.
She keeps Starr totally separate. She
told me how she had played with the snake and thought it was fun.
I told her and Eddie about catching snakes when I was a kid and both of
their eyes grew large. Neither one had realized there really were wild snakes out
there! Finally, she told me she
really likes working with Phil Carey (Asa) because he is fun to work with.
When Bob Woods arrived, Eddie ran over and gave him a big hug.
You could tell there was a true friendship there.
Next
I spoke with Patricia Elliott "Renee" as she was eating her lunch.
Although I had just planned on standing beside her to ask her a couple of
questions, she insisted I sit and visit. She
is very happy that Renee will finally have some lighter times ahead. She says her story has been so dark for so long.
I agreed that most of the stories seemed to be pretty dark in the past.
I asked Patricia if she was currently working on any other acting
projects and she said that she really hasn’t had the time.
She was recently asked to read for An
American in Paris but had turned it down.
When not bringing us Renee, she is extremely busy doing a roof off rehab
of her home. As she put it, she is
reconstructing it. Finally, I asked
her if she expects Renee to play a bigger part in Ben’s life now.
She told me that the new writers excel in writing relationships and she
thinks that can only add to the story. She
expects there to continue to be a triangle between Renee, Ben and Asa but that
Max will continue to be an influence in the story.
She’s glad for that, as she likes working with Jimmy (DePaiva - "Max").
It was time to let this lovely woman finish eating, so I thanked her and
moved on.
I
looked around and spotted Jessica Morris "Jen Rappaport" free so I headed over
and introduced myself. Jessica came
to One Life to Live from LA where she had done some commercials. She
very much likes working in daytime and for the most part has no problem with her
lines. If there are a lot, day
after day, she says it can be tough. I
can only imagine!
