Our very own
OLTL Chat Host Janice Seipp "Caboose" was recently given the chance to
interview some of OLTL's biggest stars. She has put together a wonderful report
on her experience in meeting and chatting with some of them. Thanks Janice for
"keeping cool" under such exciting circumstances; you did us all
proud! Also, another big thanks goes to Carol, OLTL's Fan Club President, for
allowing Janice to obtain a Press Pass for this event.

I
was given the unusual and extremely interesting task to cover the Fan Club
Luncheon from behind-the-scenes. I
admit to being terribly excited and apprehensive about the event.
Lucky for me, I have some wonderful Internet buddies, including but not
limited to my co-worker here at About.com, Ann McGowan.
I was so wishing Ann would be with me to calm my nerves.
On Saturday morning a few of us got together to come up with a list of
questions that I could ask the actors as I met them in the "Green Room" prior to
the event. Of course, more actors
showed up than originally planned and some that were supposed to be there
didn’t arrive until after the party started, so I wasn’t totally prepared.
Also, because I’ve always loved Bo, I thought there would be no way I
could speak to Bob Woods intelligently, so we didn’t prepare questions for
him.
Sunday,
I went down to the ballroom area to get my press pass.
I checked out the "Green Room" while it was still empty, then made my way
to the raffle area and shot my wad on the different items available.
One of the very exciting parts of these events, for me anyway, is meeting
people I have exchanged e-mails with and chatted with during the year.
Some I’ve met before and some I met for the first time, face to face.
I spent about an hour visiting and catching up.
Then I headed back to see if anyone had arrived in the "Green Room" yet.
I met up with three other gals who also had passes, which helped clear my
butterflies. Then I began my
mini-interviews.
The
very first person I spoke with was Ed Kershen, "Harry the Hook."
I totally adore Harry and I’m one of those fans that hope the Executive
Producer and writers find a permanent home in Llanview for him.
I told Ed who I was and how much I had enjoyed his character.
He was very happy to hear that Harry was popular.
He explained to me that he has a neighbor in Brooklyn that speaks very
much like Harry. He said the
neighbor has a hearing problem, which contributes to his strange speech.
Although I had suspected that a good deal of Harry’s dialogue was
ad-lib, Ed said that over 90% was scripted and he was concerned about Harry’s
future since Megan McTavish had written the strange verbiage that Harry is known
for. I did tell Ed that in addition
to the fans he had out in TV land, Erika Slezak "Viki" and Mark Derwin
"Ben" appeared to be
two of his biggest fans. Then it
was time to let Ed eat his lunch.
