Two of Llanview's most popular vixens are making their comeback to One Life to Live starting in early May. First up is Tonja Walker, who will reprise her role of Alex Olanov Hesser Buchanan. Starting on May 4th, Alex will be in Llanview for a short-term appearance. Her storyline is said to be centered around Asa, Renee and Max. Fans will also be very pleased with the comeback of Fiona Hutchison, who will again play the part of seductress Gabriella Medina Holden. For those fans who were not watching the show during the late 1980's, early 90's, here's a brief recap on these two beautiful, yet misunderstood women.
Fans were first introduced to Alex Olanov back in 1990, when she came on the scene as a female agent for the Federal Anticrime Bureau (FAB). Bo Buchanan was working closely with Alex in his attempts to locate his missing wife Sarah. It was Alex who discovered Sarah was being held hostage by her own agency, which had made a deal with mob boss Carlo Hesser. After finding out Sarah's plane had tragically went down, Bo starting spending more time with Alex, and she began her quest to gain his love. However, Alex's plans were not going off as planned when she faced fierce competition from Cassie Callison. Bo and Cassie soon fell in love and were set to be married which drove Alex completely over the edge.
While vacationing at the scenic Loon Lake, Bo and Cassie were totally unaware Alex had followed them there. Alex soon made her move and kidnapped Cassie away from Bo. Alex then forced Cassie into a boat on the lake and tried to drown her, luckily Bo came to Cassie's rescue just in time. Alex, who was now considered totally insane, was shipped off to the Mountain View sanitarium. But Alex's destruction of Bo and Cassie's life was far from over when she discovered that Bo's first wife Sarah was still alive. Just shortly after Bo and Cassie were married, Alex arranged for Sarah to make her appearance back into Bo's life, and eventually caused the destruction of his marriage to Cassie. Early in 1992, Alex surprised everyone when she returned to Llanview as the new wife of mob boss Carlo Hesser.
After Carlo's death, Alex then became head of her husband's empire. Alex eventually re-married, becoming the eighth wife of Asa Buchanan. Their wedding was one of Llanview's most memorable and elaborate weddings with their outlandish Cleopatra-themed event. Alex's marriage to Asa eventually ended when her ex-husband Carlo "came back to life". It will no doubt be interesting to see what trouble lies ahead when Alex returns to the scene.
