The One Life to Live Fans Chat Room

In a recent issue of Soap Opera Weekly they asked fans to give their opinions on the storylines currently taking place on the show.

Here are those opinions collected from fans from the One Life to Live Fans Forum:

FROM ERIC: I kind of like the Al, Cristian and Jen triangle with Lindsay being the bad guy because this past week we were able to see the fine acting talent of Patricia Mauceri who is under-used.

I am disgusted with the Natalie is Erica's daughter. I think it is worst direction for the show to go in.

FROM SUGAR: My least favorite is the pairing/storyline of Christen & Jen. I don't think they share any chemistry, they are stiff in their acting (what little acting we get out of Jen) their scenes don't look natural and why the TIIC didn't keep Chris with Jessica is beyond me, they are  so right for one another.

My favorite storyline is Todd and Blair finally getting married again even tho' I know that there is trouble ahead for them. Roger Howarth as Todd is the best in all of soap land and Kassie DePaiva shines when she is in scenes with him.

FROM DAWNE: My least favorite storyline is Cris/Jen/Al etc.  While I am aware that many soap plots are done over and over again, this one has been done much better and with much better actors.  I do like the actor who plays Al but lately even he seems to be reciting his lines in a manner that indicates that he is as bored with all of it as I am.

Favorite storyline is a little bit harder. A few weeks ago I was enjoying a great deal of the show but most of the stories that I liked have seemed to veered off in weird plot directions that aren't appealing to me.  I like all of the actors in the Sam/Nora/Troy storyline but really do not like the way it has been developed.  I suppose the story that has held my interest the most is Viki/Jess/Natalie.  I think that everyone involved is doing a fabulous job.

FROM GALE: I'm going to agree with Dawne, Kat. Cris/Jen/Al was old the minute it began. I too like Nathaniel Marston, but the storyline is boring me to tears. IMNSHO, Jessica Morris has absolutely zero chemistry with David Fumero's Cristian. And the way the character of Jen is being written, she is simply too young, whiny and immature to be involved in such a serious relationship. I FF every time their scenes air, and I'm quite sure that is not what Gary Tomlin wants fans to do.

RJ/Keri is a strong story. I'm thoroughly enjoying their interaction, and look forward to them both (but especially RJ) continuing to have front burner stories for a long time.

Sam and Nora have a great deal of potential, if written correctly, but this whole triangle does nothing for me. I know this is a soap, but I don't understand Nora's "attraction" to Troy. She, of all people, should be the most wary of him because of his physical likeness to his brother. And his behavior is becoming frighteningly like Colin's as well.

But I guess, like Dawne, I am most intrigued by the Jess/Natalie story. All of the actors involved are excellent, and even if I'm not crazy about Jess not being "Jess," I enjoy watching it.

FROM WEELILDEVIL: My favorite storyline right now is the Viki/Nat/Jess storyline because the ladies all do such a phenomenal job of acting! I was very against the idea at first, because I grew up along with Jess. The acting has made the story so intriguing and I think that as long as Jess is made a true Buchanan somehow (any way, I don't care!) I'll be satisfied throughout the entire storyline. There are so many avenues to explore (Can Natalie's personality be redeemed? Can she and Jess get along as sisters? Do Todd and Natalie share a bond because of their childhoods and actions now?) that also help keep the storyline moving instead of focusing on one thing over and over.

My second favorite thing is the R.J.-Keri storyline.  I just love watching R.J. "try" to be a straight-and-narrow kind of man, and I think Sheri Shaum is a wonderful actress!

My least favorite, by far, is the Cristian-Jen storyline!  I would like the writers to create some strong female character to be with Cris, one that he can have a real adult relationship with; one with real chemistry. I think Jen is just too young and immature to handle all that Cris has gone through. After all he went through growing up in Angel Square, what he went through with Jess, his "marriage" to Roseanne, and losing his ability to paint...he needs someone with life experience to be with! As a younger viewer, but one who has been watching for 15 out of 22 years, I would like TPTB to know that just young puppy-love isn't appealing to anyone who knows and respects the show and its characters. Give me something real, something that makes me stare at the screen in anticipation of the next scene...not something that makes me walk out of the room or change the channel because I can't respect the storyline!

FROM ILUVTODD: Least favorite: Sam and Nora. I like the couple but just showing their scenes together are quite boring right now.

Favorite: I love Todd and Blair with their romantic storyline and the new baby but wish something would resolve and she'd know the truth.  Plus I do like the Cris/Jen/Al storyline a lot now.

FROM BELLASSIE: My favorite? Todd & Blair, but I do wish they would just finally having Blair learn the truth. It has gone on way too long. I hope she kicks Todd's butt to the curb.
Cris & Jen are real tired real fast. Lindsey needs to be punished somehow, Gabby needs her head flushed, Max needs to get real with Al and the twins.
