REFLECTIONS BY JILL….Well, of course, the talk of the town is Jen’s death. Plain and simple…I hate it. What a horrible, horrible way for her to die. It gave me chills to watch Daniel smothering her while we heard her reciting her letter to Riley over it all. Very powerful. And doesn’t it figure that she and Riley would come out with their true feelings when it’s way too late? I hate that, too. I hate everything surrounding that creep, Daniel. It’s too bad Paul didn’t haunt him into offing himself.

You could tell that Daniel was over the edge when he stole Paul’s blood from the evidence room. Did he really think he could put a bloody shirt in Jen’s car at this stage of the game and it would look like she put it there? Even the dumbest murderer wouldn’t be stupid enough to chance being found with something like that in their glove compartment. That made the frame all the more obvious.

The problem now will be that before they sort out what really happened to Jen, everyone is going to think it was a suicide. That note she wrote to Riley will certainly make it look like a suicide, but when Rex convinces them to do an autopsy, finally we’ll get the truth.

So, Daniel’s lover really is a man. I love it. What a great twist. Could it be the Governor? Could it be Mark from the Love Shack? They sure tried to make it look like it was Mark the other day when he told Marcie he had a new job in the public sector and had a new lover. Was that just a red herring? I heard that Daniel’s lover will be someone who is not a major character on the canvas, so who could it be? Hmmm…what about Ron Walsh? Am I grasping at straws?

And when Nora finds out and finally picks her jaw up off the floor, what the heck will she do? Wouldn’t you love to see Matthew be the one to find evidence on Daniel? I would love that so much.

No matter what anyone thinks about Bo and Nora, I’m glad that Bo is on the scene and will be involved in all of this. I could have smacked Nora when she kept telling Bo that nothing was wrong and he was overreacting when she was the one who frantically called him when she was worried that Daniel was doing something crooked behind her back. And I can’t say how much I love seeing Bo working with Rex…and taking him seriously. Talk about a Dynamic Duo!

Did you watch Daniel’s face in that meeting with the governor at Nora’s house? (I call it Nora’s house because Daniel won’t be a resident there for much longer as I see it.) He looked like a caged animal when he talked about finding Paul Cramer’s killer and locking that person away. Isn’t Nora scared enough about the deadly look in his eyes? What the heck is wrong with her? If anything, I’d think she’d already be worried about having Daniel in Matthew’s life. Is she so afraid of another failed relationship that she is just allowing herself to be blind?

Ok…too depressing…let’s move on. Hmmmm…what’s not depressing? Well, Dorian and David are still making me laugh. I loved it when David didn’t fall right back into her arms at The Palace the other day. When she told him she was ready to take him back I nearly choked on my laughter when he said, “So, does this mean that now I get to use the big closet?” She will never learn.

I think I’m starting to like the idea of Kelly and Kevin getting back together. The chemistry certainly is there. I’d love it if Kevin decided to remain the old Kevin and got back together with Kelly. We’ll see what happens when there’s a chance of another man coming between them.

And what is little Ginger’s story? Obviously she’s not the Little Miss Sweetness and Light she looks like…and she definitely has a thing for Duke. Let’s hope we don’t have to sit through her throwing herself at Duke the way Shannon threw herself at River while Adriana stands by watching. Something tells me that this time around Adriana will find her claws and will give Ginger a run for her money. I really like Duke and Adriana together. They are a very sweet young couple and I’d like to see their relationship develop. Hey, it’s nice to have some innocent, pure love on the show…even for the five minutes it usually lasts.

Too bad about that poor waitress that died in the diner. Did they even give that poor girl a name? Any why is Natalie a target in the first place? And here’s the biggest question of the week. Why does Natalie bother to wear a top at all? Aren’t the wardrobe people at One Life To Live getting tired of scouring the city trying to find enough low cut, tight tops for Natalie to try to entice John with? As soon as she thinks she’s going to be in his presence, she dig in her closet to find the most revealing thing she can find to pour herself into. Is she really Viki’s daughter? And I don’t care if she does think that John is with Evangeline even though he is madly in love with her. If I were Natalie, I sure wouldn’t hang around throwing myself at the man when I knew he’s practically living with another woman, sleeping with her and spending all his quality time with her. Natalie is not the least bit aware that she is humiliating herself, even when she confronts Evangeline and throws it in her face that she has been with John. I find it embarrassing to watch her behavior…and I have always been a fan of John and Natalie. Now I find the direction she’s taking hard to watch.

Lots of fans are talking about chemistry between Natalie and Michael. Forget that…at this point, there isn’t a single guy on the show who deserves a woman like Natalie. Her immaturity is nothing but annoying these days.

I’m so sad about Viki. Why does she have to get sick every time TPTB want to give her a storyline? She did recover way too fast from that heart transplant, but of course, in the soap world the fans never want to see someone lying sick in bed for months on end. I suppose this will nix the plans for Viki to get a new love interest any time soon. She’ll have other things to worry about than her love life. OK, indulge me for a minute…or go ahead, tune me out. Here’s my fantasy. Asa is really hiding out in the same place he’s been hiding Ben. Now that Viki is sick again, Asa will have to bring Ben back, proving that Viki did not get her dead husband’s heart, and he will give her the will to live…with someone else’s heart. Hey, it could happen! Now, excuse me while I jump back into reality.

Anyway, I can’t stand it that Viki is sick again and now Jess won’t even tell her what’s been going on in her head because Viki has enough to deal with. Oh great…more hiding things from each other.

I have to say, I loved the scenes from Jamie’s custody hearing. Thank goodness love finally won out. I was really hoping that Jess would win that battle in the ladies’ room with Tess. Tess certainly offered a comfortable way out for Jessica, but it was her love for Antonio and Jamie that wouldn’t let her ruin Antonio’s chances for getting Jamie back. I loved the way Jessica spoke when she testified to what kind of father Antonio is and how he and Jamie are when they’re together…and I thought Antonio’s testimony was great as well. I’m sure RJ was really thrilled that he had Jessica subpoenaed to testify against Antonio…NOT!

What are we going to do with Todd and Blair? The worst thing about Todd never changes and that’s the fact that he can’t learn to trust anyone…even Blair. He’s digging himself way too big a hole by not telling her the truth and she’s just about had it with him for not being honest with her about why he can’t be intimate. What a mess. I also have to say that Todd is totally stupid to mess with Kevin when he knows that Kevin can reveal his worse nightmare. Todd just pulls his usual Todd routine and tells Kevin he’ll kill him if he tells Blair the secret. Yeah, like that’s going to happen. And how much worse is it going to be when Margaret resurfaces. I couldn’t believe it when she was on the other day and working on her Todd scrapbook, describing everything to her unborn baby. I figure she couldn’t get any sicker when she taped the two bullets into the book and told the baby, “And these are the bullets I took out of your daddy!” Oh boy, to say that her elevator doesn’t go to the top floor is the understatement of the year.

And about Margaret…boy, I sure feel sorry for that baby she’s carrying. Maybe if Margaret gets whacked off the show and Kelly and Kevin get back together, they can raise the baby…of course I could only see that happening if Todd is not the father. That would be just too icky, wouldn’t it?

See ya next week...

FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS

Judy writes: “Regarding Jess/Tess & Antonio…Last week Tess called Antonio & called him "honey.” That should be a huge clue for Antonio. Jess never called him honey in her whole life. Do you think he'll pick it up? And I feel like a traitor but I really like Michael & Natalie together. Lots of unexpected chemistry there.”

Dear Judy: I actually didn’t think it was a big deal when Tess called Antonio “honey.” I know he calls her honey all the time so maybe it just went right over his head. Obviously, he doesn’t know yet that a real second personality exists. Maybe he needs some stronger clues…like getting hit over the head. I don’t think you’re a traitor for liking Natalie and Michael together. I don’t particularly care for them much, but these days I don’t care for Natalie’s behavior much anyway so in her present state, I don’t really wish her on anyone.

Debbie writes: “I have more than had enough of this Natalie\John\Evangeline triangle. This past week John proved how much he loved Natalie when he found her after he thought she was killed. I am so tired of the powers that be dragging everything out for so long that I'm really losing interest. Natalie and John first kissed well over a year ago. Is this not the longest foreplay going? Melissa Archer has built a loyal following and to try to introduce a new Natalie would be unbelievable. Do they really think that their audience is that stupid and that we accept anything? Sorry, I had to vent. To TPTB, pick up the pace.”

Dear Debbie: I’ve had enough of the triangle, too, and so have a zillion other fans. I think John proved his connection to Natalie when he found her in the kitchen, but nothing that happens seems to push him in either direction for too long. He has a different connection with each of these women and I don’t think even John is comfortable with having his cake and eating it, too. He needs to decide before both of his women dump him in the Llantano River. And as for replacing Melissa Archer, I have to strongly disagree with you. I think it’s more than possible that she can be replaced. I think Melissa is a very good young actress, but many more established characters have been successfully replaced so I don’t think it will be that difficult. We’ve had recasts for Todd, Kevin, Blair, Kelly…the list goes on and on…all successful recasts. And finally, I will say this…I have been saying for 3 years now that if Mark Derwin doesn’t return to the show (which I don’t see happening right now), I would most definitely support a recast for the role of Ben. Considering the chemistry Mark and Erika had, it would be near impossible to recast Ben, but I think it would be possible with the right actor….so replacing Natalie…for me a piece of cake.

Julie writes: “I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Daniel is Margaret's lover and the father of her baby. That's the only thing I can imagine! I don't see Daniel in a gay relationship. He's such a slime ball. Who else could it be? Now that they've taken Jen out, what will happen with Rex?”

Dear Julie: Sorry Julie…it’s not Margaret and Daniel…and it is Daniel and a man. Whatever relationship Daniel is in I would feel sorry for the other person, unless it was the governor, in which case I’d have to say that those two slime balls deserve each other. What will happen to Rex remains to be seen. I feel sorry for the kid…I really do.

Sheree writes: “Sure, it's sad when a character is killed off but weren't people begging for Jen to disappear not to long ago? As for going in a "fun" way, what if she haunts Daniel like Paul is? THAT would be funny.”

Dear Sheree: I think it was quite a while ago that the Internet was blazing with fans begging for Jen to be tossed out of Llanview and Jessica Morris off the show. Most people have warmed to her and changed their minds since she straightened herself out and started a mature, loving relationship with Riley. I’m sorry to see the end of a really nice relationship for this young couple. I would have loved to see Jen live and put Daniel away for murdering Paul and attempting to murder her. I guess I won’t get that wish granted…but your idea about her haunting Daniel…now that I could live with and really enjoy.
