REFLECTIONS BY JILL….Wow, Jessica/Tess has sure dug herself a big enough hole to be buried in this time, hasn’t she? Could there have been a bigger step back in Antonio and Jessica’s relationship than they took last week? I don’t think so. The only thing that would just put the icing on the cake for this couple right now is for Antonio to find out that Jess/Tess has been sharing her bed (or actually the back seat of her limo) with other partners. I don’t want to hear the fallout when that happens.

Tess certainly has a lot of nerve, doesn’t she? She just waltzes into RJ’s apartment and starts ripping the place apart, ignoring Jamie and not having a care that someone could come in and find her there ransacking the place. I was surprised that she took the time to put Jamie down for a nap and didn’t leave her in the middle of things when the fire broke out. I can’t really blame Antonio for his reaction. We all know how much he loves Jessica, but the thought of her putting Jamie in danger and the chance of losing her whether in the fire or in the custody battle was just too much for him and I wasn’t surprised that he had no sympathy for Jessica. I do feel so sorry for Jessica, though. She hasn’t got a clue what she’s doing and you can see that it’s starting to rip her apart. I heard she will find out about Tess some time this month (I hope so) and I hope this storyline doesn’t drag on for too long. Aside from the fact that Bree Williamson is doing a great acting job, I’m not enjoying the storyline at all.

On to Daniel and Nora. Oh, where to begin. This guy gets more despicable by the minute. I am so glad that Nora is finally suspicious of him and doesn’t trust him any more. Too bad she didn’t wise up soon enough to save herself yet another heartache…for herself as well as her son. Matthew is still the only one who knows that Daniel isn’t the nice guy he pretends to be. Actually, he’s not even pretending to be a nice guy any more. Matthew is smart…he still calls him Mr. Coulson…at least someone knows that Daniel is not someone to cozy up to. I was hoping that Matthew would find something damning against Daniel when he used his printer, since that’s where Daniel created the evidence to implicate Jen. Maybe that will happen yet. I was hoping that Nora would look at Matthew’s paper and notice the lettering from the printer…but no such luck. Maybe when all the pieces start to come together the light bulb will go on. How is Nora going to live with herself when Daniel’s duplicity is revealed?

And who is Daniel’s lover? Speculation is rampant…from his lover being Paige to his lover being Governor Brooks. I am leaning towards the secret lover being a man since they are saying that Daniel’s lover will be a jaw-dropping surprise. What could be more jaw dropping for a man like Daniel…or a man like the governor?

Daniel’s defensive act when Nora confronted him about the phone calls was ridiculous. He’s starting to push that “best defense is a good offense” behavior. Too bad it’s not working for Nora…thank goodness. And his story about the governor demanding secrecy was such a crock…I thought he could do better than that. But I hated him most when she kept questioning him about going after Jen and she kept saying that Jen couldn’t commit murder and he told her that she wasn’t the best judge of people…throwing Troy in her face. She called him cruel…I call him…well, I won’t put that in print…but disgusting pig is about the best I can do.

And did Daniel think that bringing those flowers to Nora and presenting them with that lame apology in front of Evangeline was a good idea? What a dope! I was thrilled that she all but ignored him and even more thrilled that when she left the flowers on the table and the waiter told her she forgot them she said, No, I didn’t.

I do feel sorry for Riley. He’s being stupid, but he so desperately wants to believe in his father these days. And his father, knowing that Riley is fragile where Jen is concerned and worried that he’ll turn to drugs, doesn’t even care enough to drop his master plan. Riley is going to get the rudest awakening of all.

And yes, we are now hearing that Jen is going to die (supposedly at Daniel’s hand). Everyone is wondering how this came about when we were told we would get a fun departure for Jen. Hmmm….murder…fun…that’s the problem in soaps today…murder is not fun for the fans but it seems to be fun for TPTB.

I nearly choked at Dorian’s attempt to flirt with Governor Brooks. Can you believe they once tried to pawn this guy off on Viki? Geez, another powerful man who is dirt…maybe Dorian deserves to be with him for a while so she’d appreciate David more. I had to laugh when David caught her trying to make him jealous with the governor and started that little argument with the dueling breadsticks. I never thought I’d say this, but David deserves better. However, we do get the best laughs out of him fitting into Dorian’s life. And what a hoot I got when Dorian went to tell Viki she was seeing the governor and Viki just laughed in her face. I think Viki said it all. Dorian, he’s a jerk!!! Go back to David!!! Leave it to Viki to lay the cards on the table.

And all of a sudden Buchanan Enterprises is in trouble. Hmmm…at least it’s a nice way to bring Kevin and his family back together. All of a sudden Duke is a business genius. I like him working with his dad, though. And I like it even more that Kelly is going to join him in the business. I’m willing to give them another try and I am looking forward to the new man coming to Llanview who will give Kevin some competition for Kelly’s affections. I loved the fact that Kelly resigned from the University in support of Viki and I would have loved to see her working with Viki at The Banner, but Viki will be thrilled that she’s working with Kevin since it could mean that a fraction of her family is getting their act together.

UH-OH…Margaret is back. I supposed we just saw the back of some actress and heard Margaret’s voice since Tara Signor, the actress who plays Margaret is not yet back after having her baby. It was intriguing just to hear that voice again. And a baby boy…is it Todd’s? Somehow I’m thinking that it’s not Todd’s but she’ll insist it is and actually, it will be enough to start trouble just to release the information that she is pregnant. Everyone will be able to come to their own conclusions…especially Blair. Wouldn’t it be nice if just once in Soapland someone came clean before their secret was revealed for them? Wouldn’t it be great if Todd would just come clean and tell Blair the truth? The secret is already ruining their intimacy…what has he got to lose?

Can’t end this without talking about Natalie, John and Evangeline, can we? It is becoming so hard for me to stand behind Natalie in this mess, which I’ve done for a long time. I hate the way she is behaving, throwing herself at John. He’s in an intimate relationship with Evangeline and he can’t even tell her he loves her…how is he supposed to deal with Natalie? I don’t know how Natalie can look at herself in the mirror these days and have any dignity left. She blames Michael for “making her” act like a fool when she has no one to blame but herself. I can’t believe she slugged Michael and I give him credit for not slugging her back. And I’ll say it for the 100th time. Evangeline is a great person and she deserve better than a relationship that is up and down every five minutes. I hear we’re going to be getting a glimpse into John’s past and finding out more about what makes him tick besides the death of his fiancé. I am looking forward to that. Maybe it will shed some light on his frustrating behavior.

Carlo Hesser is coming back…and the month of May will bring visits from Marty Saybrook and Will Rappaport. Sadly, Will be probably be back to bid farewell to his sister. What will happen to Lindsay? Rex? Will Marcie think Jen’s murder was committed by the Killing Club Murderer? And can’t we ever have a killer in daytime television that doesn’t have a special name? I think the next serial killer should be called “The Here We Go Again Hacker.”

See ya next week...

FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS

Jerilyn writes: “I just wonder if anyone else likes Natalie and Michael together? I think that Marcie and Michael have lost their "magic" and Natalie and Michael seem to have a good chemistry together. What do you think?”

Dear Jerilyn: As most people who read this column know, I have never been a huge fan of Marcie and Michael. I have always thought it evolved way too quickly after Al’s death to be believable, especially since Michael started out as a person Marcie would never be attracted to or have anything in common with. When Al’s spirit was all of a sudden whooshed into Michael’s body, I didn’t buy it at all. However, I think that the separation of Marcie and Michael was the best thing that could have happened to that couple. It gave them time to really get to know each other, become friends and really develop into a couple that cares about each other. Now I’m routing for them…so the answer to your questions is…no, I don’t really like the idea of Natalie and Michael together. I would, at this point, be greatly in favor of a Michael/Marcie reunion. When I see Natalie and Michael together, I still see the old conniving Natalie and Al when they were trying to split up Jen and Cristian. As for the other fans, I haven’t heard much yet about thoughts on Michael and Natalie…I’m sure we’ll be hearing more soon.

Lale writes: “I am so disappointed to read that they are killing off Jen, especially after reading I think it was the head writer (Higley?) had been quoted as saying Jen would leave the show in a fun way. As long as the decision had been made that she was leaving, I was looking forward to a happy departure- so more the disappointment. Wow, it's going to be terrible for Riley, Mathew and Nora once it comes out that Daniel did the deed, and of course Lindsay and Rex. Not what I find fun in my book. On a happier note, sounds like they are getting closer to a romance for Viki- I hope it truly means happiness is in store for Viki and not heartache. What a tough job it would be to find the right guy for Viki- Ben is too hard of an act to follow.”

Dear Lale: I agree…murdering Jen doesn’t sound like much of a fun way to send her off to me either. It will surprise me if Daniel is allowed to live for five minutes after he “does the deed” as you put it. Unbelievably, I think that Jen’s death will be hardest on Rex and I never thought I’d say it, but with the changes in Rex lately, I will feel very sorry for the poor guy. He woke up and realized what was important to him way too late. And as far as Viki’s love life goes, of course Ben is too hard an act to follow…As far as I’m concerned, they should start inventing a mate for Viki in a laboratory somewhere because it’s going to take the kind of chemistry that won’t be found again for Viki in the soap world.

Carol writes: “I want to comment on Mrs. Smalls. On the show where Blair was in the cabin looking for Todd, just after Blair left, Mrs. Smalls changed her glasses to the black ones that Mrs. Bigelow use to wear and referred to something that made you think she WAS Mrs. Bigelow. Am I wrong? Anybody else see that?”

Dear Carol: Yes, we did see that scene where Mrs. Smalls changed into the Mrs. Bigelow glasses. I still hold out hope that she is Mrs. B and I know tons of other fans feel the same way. Last week I was pretty sure Todd had his doubts, too…Mrs. B is too delicious a character to let go…I hope we get her back.
