REFLECTIONS BY JILL….Did you all get the creeps like I did waiting for that crusher to close in on Margaret’s car making a human pancake out of Blair? I am dying to find out how Blair got out of the car. Word has it that Asa will be involved in what happens to her and did I hear correctly? Did I hear that she would wind up at St. Ann’s? I think it’s about time they let Addie out of that place. She’s the sanest person in Llanview.

No matter what you think of the storyline, I think we all have to applaud the performances of the actors involved in this storyline and I applaud none more than Kristin Alderson. Her portrayal of Starr just keeps getting better and better and as she grows up and matures, she is showing us every aspect of Starr’s journey along the way. I think she’s wonderful. I also can’t say enough about Trevor St. John. He did a great job last week in his search for Blair and he showed us just how much Todd has changed by taking the blame for what has happened to everyone in this horrible situation. Starr said it best when she accused her father of causing her mother’s “death” by making “that crazy woman” mad at him. No one knows better than Todd that that is the truth, plain and simple.

Dorian’s denial was very poignant. She just couldn’t come to grips with the fact that Blair could be gone and when she finally broke down the emotions were raw and very real. Congrats to Robin Strasser for always making Dorian the enigma that she is…lovable, annoying and detestable all at the same time.

One thing I have to say. I really enjoy David being in the middle of this whole Todd/Blair thing. Isn’t it a riot that he has become the loving, supportive family man that Dorian and everyone else can lean on? If I didn’t see it with my own eyes, I’d never believe it. I just hope we don’t have to wait too long to bring Blair home.

And back to Asa…what a horrible, horrible man he is, sitting there rejoicing that “the she-devil is dead.” Of course he’s not sorry he said it…he just sorry he got caught saying it in front of Adriana…and I don’t think he’s really that sorry.

This brings me to Kevin. Kevin had my feelings all over the map last week. Just when I think he can’t get any worse, he softens up. Then just when I think he’s about to turn the corner back to humanity, he turns back into a creep. Then he finds the old Kevin again somewhere inside him. I thought he was so horrible to Kelly when he tore into her about making him lose Ace to J.R. And he was so cold when he implied that she didn’t love Ace and said that he would never forgive her for what she did. I don’t think “cold” is even a strong enough word for Kevin when he told her that he could never love someone who was incapable of loving…OUCH! But I loved it when Kelly bounced back and accused him of using Ace every chance he got to retaliate against her. That’s exactly what he did. Then all of a sudden when Kelly was so upset about Blair, Kevin found his heart again and went to her. I was glad she told him where to go. I was also glad later on when he finally had to admit all the terrible things he’s done that he can’t take back and tried to make it up to Kelly. Even I have to admit that it was very big of Kevin to take Duke and go over to Dorian’s house to apologize for Asa’s behavior in front of Adriana and pay his respects about Blair. I think they have a new understanding and I hope he doesn’t take me on the roller coaster again. I’m kind of sick of it. At this point, forgiveness for both Kevin and Kelly would be a relief…for all of us.

OK…on to Jessica…maybe we should call her Tessica. OH NO…you know how I hate those silly nicknames! And sleep walking? Oh yeah, great excuse! Anyway, didn’t you want to just give Viki a little shove and remind her that she should be considering the fact the her daughter is losing it? Come on Viki…if anyone should see the signs honey, it’s YOU!!!! Big, Major Clue when Jessica woke up in Viki’s bed and admitted to her mother that the night before was one big blur! Viki, Hello, don’t you remember when Jessica went into her fugue state and was harassing Dorian after baby Megan’s death? Gee, we forget all the important stuff, don’t we? I think Antonio is going to catch on a lot sooner than Viki will…which will be ridiculous. Maybe if a couple more handsome, hunky guys come around claiming to know Jessica intimately, it will be enough for Antonio to pick up on the trail he’s already heading to.

Don’t you think John is getting a bit too good at shutting up Evangeline and getting off subjects he can’t talk about by dragging her off to bed? Although I really like these two characters individually, their relationship is very flawed. I think Evangeline has allowed herself to be reduced to a simpering, insecure woman, which is the complete opposite of the Evangeline we’ve always known. It’s not pretty to watch. It makes me uncomfortable to see her walk away and then get dragged back in by a slight glimmer of hope from John…only to be sent back into insecurity the next time he gets uncomfortable with the thought of commitment. I’m not impressed with John telling her that she makes him feel things he hasn’t felt in a long time. Maybe Evangeline should get a surgeon to yank those three little words out of his throat…like tonsils. That seems to be the only way she’s going to hear them. With or without Natalie in this equation, John has a way better deal going on here than Evangeline does…he’s got what he wants and she is settling for what he is willing to give her. Not good in my book!

And what about Jen? How convenient that Daniel just happened to find her computer in the packing box…and how convenient that he just happened to find that little piece of paper from the letter Rex received from the supposed killer of Paul Cramer. PLEASE…can we get this over with so we can put the name Paul Cramer behind us like we put the name Tico Santi behind us?

Speaking of Tico…I was hoping we wouldn’t go on an on with Antonio refusing to use Tico’s money to support his custody fight for Jamie. Enough of the macho stuff Antonio…take the money and put it to good use. I was not happy that he got so crazy and went after RJ the other day. I was hoping that the short fuse was behind him and I understand that he was crazy over the thought of losing Jamie…but he shouldn’t have attacked RJ. I’m counting on Evangeline to bury RJ in court. Evangeline going up against RJ is going to be fun to watch.

And in closing, I want to yell out a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Erika Slezak, Kassie DePaiva, Ilene Kristin and Heather Tom for their very much-deserved Emmy nominations! This is well-deserved recognition and I am thrilled to see it!

See ya next week...

FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS

Georgie writes: “Is Blair leaving the show? I have not read anything where she was leaving. What did I miss? I do realize that as of now she could come back, however on the week ahead, they don't mention it.”

Dear Georgie: To my knowledge, Kassie DePaiva is not leaving the show and as we now know, Blair is alive and heading for more trouble before she comes home to her family. You didn’t really think she got crushed in that car, did you? Horrible deaths like that would only be saved for lovely people like Victor Lord or Mitch Laurance…at least that’s the end I would have liked for those two.

Alison J writes: “Man, we just get through the whole emotional roller coaster of Cris coming back and then sent to prison as a presumed imposter and now we are back on the roller coaster of Blair's supposed violent death. It's enough for me to now guard my heart and not allow myself to care for the characters to the degree I had been- just the thought of putting Jack and Starr through losing their Mom is even worse than Margaret raping Todd. I'm probably in the minority but I would like to see Blair and Todd together- even if it's only for a while. This show seems to have gotten quite edgy- too much with the murders and raping, and not enough "happy stuff." As long as I'm venting, I have been disappointed with the new writers portrayal of Vicki. She just isn't the same smart caring woman I loved watching.”

Dear Alison J: It seems that a lot of people really believed that Blair was dead in that car. Good thing she wasn’t, right? I agree that having the kids think Blair is dead is very hard to watch. I hope they don’t have to explain it to little Jack. I don’t think you are in the minority in wanting Blair and Todd together. I am with you in that opinion and I know lots of other fans are, too. Who else could live with Todd or Blair? As for the show being edgy and not containing enough “happy stuff” I couldn’t agree with you more. I’ve been saying forever that if I wanted to see so much murder and mayhem I’d watch more news on television rather than my soap. At least we have a few promising couples these days…I can remember a time when I couldn’t think of one. And as for Viki, for me, she’s still the same woman she always was but she is so bogged down with her family’s problems that she no longer has a life of her own. Do I have to say what she needs…or whom? I don’t think I need to say it for the umpteenth time…but a little bit of B-E-N wouldn’t hurt the woman at all. A lot of B-E-N wouldn’t hurt her either…lol.

Emigdiobrnx writes: “What's the deal with Natalie and John? Are they going to get together?”

Dear Emigdiobrx: Boy, you don’t ask difficult questions, do you? I’d love to have a clue about what the deal is with Natalie and John and if they are going to get together. All I can say is…I hope so. Excuse me while I dodge the bullets…lol. I think something has got to happen…there is too much tension between John and Natalie…between John and Evangeline…between Natalie and Evangeline. Something’s got to give. I don’t think it will work for any of them without each of them making some changes. We’ll see.
