REFLECTIONS BY JILL….I suppose Natalie better get ready for the next big ride on the roller coaster she calls a life. Those were some wild scenes last week with Cristian, John, Natalie, Antonio and Jessica. Finally, one confession down…one more murderer to uncover.

Do you think Cristian is really an imposter? Will he come back as the real Cristian one day? Hmmm…interesting! The door is definitely open, isn’t it?

I actually think the whole thing was very exciting, from Cristian knocking out that guard and holding the gun on Antonio telling him he was going to kill him…to Cristian’s amazing confession with everyone standing around listening in shock. Holy Cow…wait until Carlotta finds out the truth…she’ll be screeching until the cows come home. I do really feel sorry for her, though. After all, between Antonio and Cristian, that woman has no clue who her kids are any more, not to mention the ordeal she went through when we found out who Adriana actually is.

I have to say…I felt really sorry for Natalie. She wants so desperately to have a normal life for once and no matter what she does she can’t get a grasp on one. Of course, we all know she hasn’t made all the best choices, but I think it’s been a long time since she really did anyone any harm and I’d like to see her have something go her way. This week Cristian is going to be sentenced to life in prison and she’s going to let loose about how she feels about what he did. I can’t wait to see it. Melissa Archer hasn’t really had anything good to sink her teeth into since she came to Llanview and was scamming Viki and Jessica…so I’m looking forward to her dealing with the loss of Cristian…again.

John and Natalie continue to be vital to each other’s lives, no matter what else is going on. I wasn’t surprised that he made her promise to come to him any time she needed anything. He’s not letting go any time soon and with Cristian’s current situation, she’s going to need someone around who understands her…and I don’t mean just her mom.

Although I really like Jessica…always have…just by a show of hands, how many people really wanted to join me in taping her mouth shut when she kept insisting through Cristian’s confession that she saw Antonio kill Tico. Enough Jessica! I was happy to hear her say she still loves Antonio. I think it’s a testament to his anger management classes that he hasn’t lost it yet with her insisting he’s a killer. These two will be together…I think we just have to wait out the lunacy and I think we’re going to get plenty of it from Jessica…I’m sorry to say.

Didn’t you just love Starr going up against Margaret? That kid is great…Kristin Alderson can hold her own with any powerhouse in that cast. She never fails to amaze me. I loved the way Starr got right in Margaret’s face….the shouting match was great. Too bad she didn’t have a way to stop the lunatic.

So, what do you think about Mrs. Bigelow…or whomever that woman was that Blair found in that cabin? Wouldn’t it be delicious if somehow Mrs. B. didn’t die? Oh, Margaret would just love that, wouldn’t she? It might be just the thing to send her over the edge.

And Blair finally found Todd….well, for a while she did anyway….but the best part about the Todd fiasco storyline is that now Viki and Dorian are involved in the hunt. It can’t get any better than that. These two women can’t keep from bickering no matter where they are (of course, always instigated by Dorian), but having them together and arguing in a moving vehicle…that’s a recipe for disaster.

And poor Marcie had to be the victim…smacked by Margaret’s truck…on my! Do you think Marcie is starting to think that her life started turning upside down when she wrote the first page of that book? Her agent, Hayes, is an awful little man…and I do mean “little man.” I thought her new stylist, Willie West, was kind of funny, even though he did nothing to help the situation. And you just knew that Marcie was going to walk into Rodi’s and catch Michael in a compromising position. How predictable was that? I’m glad she let him know she saw him before she ran out. And now she’s badly hurt…heading for surgery…boy, that girl certainly doesn’t deserve all the heartache she’s getting, does she? The best thing she did was to finally stand up to Hayes and tell him she didn’t care if the book succeeded or not and that if it didn’t, she’d write a better one. GO MARCIE!

Let’s talk about Daniel for a minute. He is sliming his way right back to where he started out in Llanview…maybe even worse. I loved when Nora caught him on the phone and overheard him telling someone she’d be a good political asset to him. I think that sweet, sappy line he gave her about needing her at his side and wanting to make her proud of him was a bunch of bunk…and Nora better not be dumb enough to believe everything he says to her when it is disguised as mushy, gushy, flattery.

And talking about taking a step backwards! I was very disappointed that Jen even gave Rex five seconds to talk to her the other day when he went on an on about loving her and questioned whether or not she wanted to be with Riley if she had to be a “good girl.” I loved it when Riley told her that he does believe she’s innocent of Paul’s murder and that it’s Rex who thinks she’s capable of doing horrible things…and that’s why he hid the gun and got arrested trying to protect her. Well said, Riley. When Jen pushed Rex off her and slapped him, I thought it was just too little, too late. She has worked hard to change, but deep down she still has self-doubt. Rex needs to be totally out of her life and she needs to be stronger about pushing him out of it.

And Kevin was finally decent to Duke. I was shocked that I believed he was sincere when he told Duke that Ace was his second chance to do it right. I loved his line when he said that Duke was a good man and that he wished he had more to do with him growing up to be one. I am still furious at Kevin for trying to manipulate Kelly into being on his side in the baby battle, although I think Kevin might be a tad more sincere than he has been. Yeah, I said it…I may live to regret it. I was really happy, though, when Kelly told him that she couldn’t be on his side and that she was going to do what she could to help Babe get her son back. I love hearing Kelly being her own person again and having her values back.

Even Asa had me going for a minute when he was talking to Bo and said that he needed Ace because having him helped ease the pain of losing his son, Ben. That was a low blow to my heart, Asa. It’s going to take me an extra five minutes now to go back to thinking you’re nothing but a nuisance.

I found that whole conversation between Paige and Nora very weird when Paige told Nora that she felt Nora didn’t want her in particular to be in Bo’s life. Maybe Nora has made it look like she and Bo weren’t finished, but I don’t think she had any special misgivings about Paige. Is Paige just a bit paranoid? I’ll say it again…that woman just gives me the creeps.

And finally…can someone do something about getting Ilene Kristin back on contract. We need Roxy back badly. Every time she gets on camera for a few minutes I realize how much we need her around on a regular basis. She was a riot when she called Michael “Dr. Death.” No one but Roxy could get away with saying something so inappropriate…but when she talked about owning the hotel and called herself “a regular Sherman Hemsley” instead of Leona Helmsley, I nearly died laughing. I miss you Roxy! I think the show has gotten so much better lately since the writing change…maybe someone will realize that we need to retrieve some of the valuable cargo that was cast aside.

See ya next week...

FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS

Gabriela writes: “Many of us feel the same way about John turning to Evangeline to forget about Natalie and it is lovely to read that in your column! I'm actually enjoying the show a bit more but I miss Viki, Roxy and David hasn't been on for a bit. I too liked Daniel so I just don't know what to make of this new story. As for Todd, really I did wondered myself about the bathroom thing, does he brush his teeth? What about a shower? His clothes? Is he wearing the same? Now about that cabin, I would love to get me one of those, it survived an avalanche and a fire!!!! Pretty resilient.”

Dear Gabriela: It seems that the huge valley between what the John/Natalie fans and the John/Evangeline fans think and want gets bigger by the day…and might I say, nastier, too. Most of the time it makes me laugh to see so many people taking a difference of opinion about fiction so seriously…and sometimes it makes me very sad. Fan base rivalries are as old as the hills, but this one seems to be so mean spirited. I just don’t get it. I remember not too long ago that there was a very heated rivalry going on between the Ben/Viki fans (put me at the top of that list) and the Viki/Clint fans. I do remember it getting quite heated at times, but unless my memory fails me, it wasn’t nearly as nasty as this. I’m sure some fans will remind me if I’m wrong…lol. I used to get plenty of mail from the fans that hated Ben, but nothing compared to what I get from people who don’t appreciate the fact that I like John and Natalie. Oh well, what are ya gonna do??? As far as Viki goes…they say they’re looking for just the right new man for her. I’m reserving judgment. I’d love to see them put Ilene Kristin back on contract…we need Roxy…and more is in store for David with a troublesome brother coming to town. And everyone wants to know how Todd can remain tied to a bed without use of a bathroom, fresh clothing, etc…LOL…and yes, everyone would love a home that’s avalanche-proof and fireproof.

Kari writes:I really want to thank you for the work you do on your site. I'm 15, and my mom tapes OLTL while I'm at school. Lately she's been angry at me for sleeping too late, and she won't give me the tape. What she doesn't know is that, thanks to you, I'm still keeping up to date, even though watching the show was the highlight of my day. Thank you soooooo much! I wish that Cristian wasn't leaving! I think he's great. And I'm glad that Antonio and Jessica are working together now.”

Dear Kari: I surely don’t want to get between you and your mom, but I’m glad you come to this site to keep up on what’s going on. The recap writers are really good, too, if you want to get a blow-by-blow description of everything that happens on the show every day. If this ever gets into your mom’s hands, I will say this…you are a very articulate young lady for your age and I’ll give you just one bit of advice…try not to sleep too late in the future…if someone kept my tapes from me, I’d be more than motivated to do whatever I had to do get my hands on them. When I come home from work and once in a blue moon find that the cable went out and the show didn’t tape, I want to blow up the cable company…so I know how you feel. I hate missing anything! I understand your feelings about Cristian. Sometimes I think it was harder for his fans to see him come back for a short stay than if he never came back at all. Thanks for writing.

Alison writes: “I think you may have more influence with "the powers that be" than you think. First you voice your displeasure of Mrs. Bigelow dying, then make a comment that it's time they bring back someone from the dead (though you probably had Ben in mind-I'd love that too). I'm such a hit and miss watcher, but I was so happy I got to see Mrs. Bigelow yesterday! What a great surprise!”

Dear Alison: LOL…I assure you that I have absolutely no influence on anyone with any kind of power at the show…but it would be nice if I did, wouldn’t it? I wonder about the whole Mrs. Bigelow thing. Some people think maybe she’s Todd’s guardian angel…I hope that somehow it’s her in the flesh and we get her back. And yes, of course when I say I’m ready for someone to come back from the dead I mean Ben. There have been a lot of referenced to him on the show lately and although I love hearing him remembered, it’s a big tease, too.
