REFLECTIONS BY JILL….Well, I can’t say it didn’t warm my heart to see Tico go down last week. He sure took his time about it, didn’t he? I was hoping that Antonio’s shot from the catwalk would have done the trick, but I should have known that half of Llanview would have to be involved in taking down that snake. I was sure cheering Jessica on when Tico had her by the neck and she kept yelling at Cristian to shoot him.

I guess it was only fitting that John would be the one to come to the rescue before Tico killed Cristian. I do feel sorry for John. The poor guy had enough trouble living with the guilt when he thought he was responsible for Cristian’s death…and now he has to live with the fact that Cristian hates his guts for what happened to him for the past year and for him being separated from Natalie. Wait until Cristian finds out that John and Natalie don’t hate each other the way he assumes they should. I don’t really think Natalie should wait very long to tell Cristian about her relationship with John over the past year. There isn’t going to be any way to hide it for very long anyway with the way John and Natalie look at each other. She sure doesn’t look at him like a woman who resents him for taking her husband away from her. She shouldn’t let Cristian feel like a fool by finding out some other way when everyone in Llanview knows what he doesn’t. Cristian said it all when John saved his life and he asked Natalie, “Is this supposed to make up for him almost getting me killed last time?”

I certainly can understand Cristian’s bitterness. He’s been through treatment we probably can’t even imagine at this point. That’s all the more reason for people to treat him with respect and honestly.

And just how many times is John supposed to apologize for what happened to Cristian? John is in a no-win situation where Cristian is concerned.

John sure didn’t look too thrilled to see Cristian alive, did he? I know that there is a huge battle over the John/Natalie/Evangeline situation, but can anyone really tell me, after what went on last week that John just sees Natalie as a friend and that she’s just some dumb girl mooning over a guy who has no interest in her? Did everyone hear him agree with Natalie that they can’t pretend that there’s nothing between them? I’m not even going to get into the argument over whether or not John has true feelings for Natalie that are more than friendship. Anyone who doesn’t see that isn’t looking with a very objective eye. If he didn’t have a huge, serious connection to Natalie and it was all one-sided on her part, there wouldn’t even be a triangle to discuss. If it were only Natalie hanging annoyingly onto John, there wouldn’t even be a discussion over who should be with whom. I think that it’s obvious that John has a real connection to Evangeline and it’s also obvious that he has a deep connection to Natalie that he’s not able to walk away from, even when she’s not the one seeking him out. If he were completed devoted to spending his life with Evangeline, he would have set Natalie straight already and he would have certainly NOT been a willing participant in that scene in the park where they were talking about an inch from each other’s faces. I found it very telling when John told Michael that at the end of the day, both Natalie and Evangeline deserve better than him. Of course, I don’t agree with that. I think John is a really good guy with a good heart. He needs to figure out where his heart truly lies, not be afraid to follow it and stop keeping two women on the hook.

And is anyone out there convinced that Kevin knows nothing about Tico’s dirty dealings? Not me. I don’t think he can admit to himself that he tied himself to such a disgusting creature as Tico…but he surely did just that. He didn’t have the guts to step forward when he realized how he got Ace in that hearing…and he didn’t have the guts to questions Tico about how confident he was that Kevin would be stepping up to a higher position in the near future. No one in his family wants to believe he had a sinister connection to Tico, but he’s got a lot that he’ll have to live with and answer for because of his selfishness and huge ego. Maybe he’ll stop and admit why he was actually the only one in his family who backed Jessica’s marriage to Tico and why he stood behind that ridiculous decision. Maybe seeing what his sister is now going through will wipe the smirk off his smug face.

And here’s my tearful good-bye to Sonia…Adios baby! Sorry, I can’t feel sorry for her when she stands there and talks about what a sweet and gentle boy Tico was. He pulled the wool over her eyes for years and she’s much better off going on with her life somewhere else…FAR FROM LLANVIEW!

Don’t you love Crazy Margaret being back? She’s got some whopper of a plan in store for Todd. It can’t mean anything good for Todd that she’s packing a huge roll of duct tape, can it? I think the shrinks at St. Ann’s should be locked up in a padded cell for letting her out, don’t you?

And yes, it appears that Blair and Todd are heading down the aisle again…I think. I had to laugh when Blair was lamenting over the fact that she hadn’t even chosen a wedding dress yet. Exactly how many wedding dresses has she had over the years anyway? It could even be more dresses than Asa’s had weddings…well, maybe not quite that many.

I’m certainly glad that David and Kelly finally got out of that motel room. That was a major bore. Couldn’t they have come up with something more interesting that having them lie around for days with food poisoning?

And Adriana finally had to admit that her dear brother Tico is a creep. I wanted to take those blinders she was wearing and…well, you get my drift. No great loss for Adriana…now she can concentrate on her “real” brothers…Antonio and Cristian.

And regarding Jessica…are we sure she is really sick medically, or did Marcie make her ill babbling on and on at her while she was lying in that hospital bed? Just kidding. I am getting a bit tired of Marcie’s histrionics, but I did feel a bit sad when she was ready to accept Michael’s marriage proposal and he decided not to go through with it. Marcie is right…her timing is terrible.

And what about David and Dorian? These two should have a sitcom together. They are insane. Now they’re both in jail. Thank goodness for a bit of comedy. I died laughing when they put David on tape to give his confession and he was worried about how he looked, posing for the camera and turning to make sure they got his best side on the video. And how about the way Dorian corrected him on camera when he mispronounced the name of the Badra diamond? Those two together are priceless.

Say what you want about Bo and Nora being a thing of the past…but those two have a connection that won’t break. I loved the scene where Nora stuck her head in Bo’s office and covered him up when she found him sleeping in the chair. I still think it’s love…ahem…just like John giving Natalie his jacket in the park and telling her to keep it when she left.

I got a major flash of déjà vu when Viki was at Jessica’s besides begging her to wake up and be strong. It took me right back to when Jess lost Megan and was in a coma. It even sounded like they stole the same dialogue.

And of course the question remains…who pulls the plug on Tico? My money is on Antonio…I think Llanview should give him an award if he really did it because the questions should not be…Who pulled the plug?…it should be…Why did we have to wait so long for someone to eliminate Tico from our lives?

And finally…my biggest gripe of the week. No one in Llanview celebrated Thanksgiving! I hate that! Call me a sap, but I love those holiday gatherings where there’s as much love and warmth as murder and mayhem. They could have at least given us a little of Lindsay and Nora throwing food at each other…couldn’t they?

See ya next week...

FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS

Joan writes: “I cannot wait until Tico is declared DEAD! What a jerk and what a jerky storyline to boot. As for Lindsay, please, please cut that hair...she looks so ridiculous. I also want John and Evangeline together. Bo and Nora are boring (sorry Jill) and both need new faces in their lives. I really like Daniel and Nora together. Nevertheless, don't you think that OLTL will be a better place without the Santis?”

Dear Joan: I guess you don’t have to wait very long for Tico to be declared dead…and as a matter of fact it may have already happened by the time you read this. Words can’t express my joy over the demise of the Santi storyline…that’s for sure. As for Lindsay, I always loved the shorter hairstyle that Catherine Hickland wore for a long time on the show. It was unique and it suited her very well. Obviously, the style today is to have longer hair…lots of actresses have let their locks grow…but I’ve always been of the mind that just because it’s in style doesn’t mean it looks good on everybody. Who knows? Maybe next week they’ll all cut their hair short…lol. Honestly, lots of people think Bo and Nora are boring. I say that about lots of other couples they’ve tried to put together. I guess we’ll see what happens down the line for Daniel, but I think he needs a woman who can give him more of her undivided attention.

Renee writes: “Where do they purchase the outfits that Blair wears?”

Dear Renee: I don’t know exactly where they purchase Blair’s clothes, but I’m sure the wardrobe people spend a lot more money on her clothes than on any other actor. There are lots of places in New York where they shop for clothing for the soaps. Without a doubt, Blair wears the finest and most expensive clothes of anyone in Llanview and there’s no place better than New York to find every designer showroom, boutique and upscale department store at your disposal. Those shopping trips must be a barrel of fun.

Sheri writes: “Have you wondered when someone will tell Carlotta that Cristian is alive? It has been days since he came back, and no one has bothered to tell her. Why are they keeping her in the dark? Just curious.”

Dear Sheri: Lots of people have been wondering the same thing. The last time we saw Carlotta she told Antonio that she would be going away to take care of a sick friend or relative (don’t remember which one), so obviously we’re supposed to believe that no one has told her yet…and with all that’s been going on at that hospital, I’m sure they haven’t even thought of calling her. I think it’s pretty funny since she will be the one who has the biggest hysterical fit when she sees her son alive. I, for one, intend to have my finger ready to lower the volume on the day she finds out because I’m not sure my ears will be able to tolerate her hysteria…lol. Obviously, since Patricia Mauceri (who plays the role of Carlotta) is on recurring status on the show, she’s not a part of the everyday canvas so it’s up to TPTB as to when they want to bring her on.

Bonnie writes: “Just want to express my displeasure over Jessica marrying Tico and all his antics. I wish the storylines would be happy for a while. There is too much sadness. I wish this would move on and we'd see Antonio and Jessica together again, happy and moving forward. Glad Cristian is back. What a great looking gentleman and maybe Natalie will get herself together now. Are there ever going to be any happy settled couples in Llanview? It’s about time there were.”

Dear Bonnie: I hated the fact that Jessica married Tico…and so quickly. It just made her look foolish and I hate when they write her that way. I, too, want to see Antonio and Jessica back together. I think they have a real chance together but they probably have some obstacles to overcome that will take a while. I don’t see Natalie and Cris living together happily ever after at the drop of a hat just because he’s finally come home (and yes, he is a fine looking gentleman). They have a huge elephant in the room with them all the time…and his name is John McBain. Hmm…happy couples in Llanview? That’s just about the only thing I wish for all the time and haven’t gotten in years.
