REFLECTIONS BY JILL….I don’t know about you, but I love the fact that Cristian is back. As I’ve said before, I never really thought much of the chemistry (or lack of it) between Cristian and Natalie, but I think throwing him into the mix with John, Natalie and Evangeline is going to be great and to be honest, the anticipation of his return has me wanting to see just what chemistry he and Natalie can have. I hope he’s going to show himself to everyone soon. I can’t wait to see Natalie’s face when she gets a look at him. Can she take any more upheavals in her life? This one is going to be a doozy. I’m also glad that Cristian got the chance to knock out that guard and get away. I was laughing my head off watching him try to dig his way through the walls with that little knife. That was almost as funny as John digging up the judge’s grave all by his little old self.

Can I just say that I love the fact that Tico was the beast that made Cristian disappear? It makes his impending departure even sweeter, knowing that not only will he pay for what he’s done in Llanview, but he will be exposed as the person who took Cristian away from his family and his new wife. If Antonio is ever going to lose his temper again…and we know he will…I hope the next time he does it he has his hands around Tico’s neck.

Even without Cristian’s presence, the Natalie/John/Evangeline mess is getting more interesting by the day. I guess it was the last straw for Evangeline’s patience and understanding when she realized that John risked his job and his career by digging up Judge Hernandez’ grave without a warrant just so that he could find any shred of evidence to clear Natalie. I’d say that going that far says a lot about how deep his feelings go for Natalie…whatever those feelings might be…whether it’s love that he can’t admit to…or lingering guilt over Cristian’s death…or a combination of both. I can’t blame Evangeline for telling John that she wouldn’t be involved with him until he resolved his feelings for Natalie. I respect her for that. I think the shock she felt over how far John would go for Natalie made it clear to her, as a self-respecting woman, that she needed to stand her ground.

And how did John get away with letting Natalie out of jail anyway? Just because he found Dorian’s necklace in the grave doesn’t erase all the evidence against Natalie. Dorian’s excuse for how Paul got the necklace was a lot more believable than Natalie’s silence in her own defense.

Can we just talk for a minute about how a guy like John…or any one man…can dig up a grave all by himself with one measly shovel and then retrieve a body from under the coffin? Several people wrote to me last week talking about how ludicrous that was. I totally agree. It was ridiculous. The only thing more ridiculous was David showing up, knocking John out so that he could steal Paul’s body, and not making sure he got the necklace before he got away. Dumb move David!

As a side note…finally, John has his own office. I guess they weren’t kidding when they said his office was under construction. I’m glad he’s not taking over Bo’s office any more.

Is there anywhere that Tico’s evil hand won’t reach? Poor, stupid Rack ‘Em Ross. It wasn’t enough that he went to prison after working for that creep, Flynn. How long did it take Tico to have him bumped off? Two seconds? That was quick work, even for Tico. It sure must be annoying the heck out of Tico that his dear little brother Antonio and a lunatic like Todd Manning are uncovering all of his dirty little secrets faster than he can kill off the sources.

And how sweet of Shannon to tell John she saw a woman burying a gun in the cement at the community center. Not too bright is she if she thinks that setting up Jen will clear the way for her to be with Rex. In his own creepy way, Rex loves Jen to distraction and nobody can take her place with him.

How cute was Starr dressed up in her little business suit blackmailing Asa? That kid sure is her parents’ kid, isn’t she? I can’t believe how grown up she is and how nothing rattles her. I had to laugh when Blair told her that Asa is dangerous and she said, “SO AM I.”

Tell me one thing…what was Viki doing having dinner with Tico, Jessica and the governor? Surely she could find better dinner company. And didn’t she look like she wanted to take a quick, hot shower when the governor put his hands on her shoulders and whispered his good-bye to her? Ick! And how hysterical was David when he and Dorian walked into the Palace, Dorian being furious spotting Viki’s party and he said to her, “Now, retract your talons and keep walking.” He just kills me.

And who does the governor think he is saying to Jess, “I hear you’re working for the enemy.” You know the world has gone mad when Todd Manning seems to be on the side of right with all the junk he’s printing in The Sun. The governor sure has nerve, especially when he knows everything Todd prints is true. He talks about Jessica working for the enemy…Hah!…maybe he’d like her to work for him so she can destroy her life like her brother Kevin is destroying his.

I know lots of people are getting sick of Antonio and I’m sick of his huffing and puffing, too, but I am happy to see him finally giving a hoot about his family and especially about Jessica. She should really make him crawl…if she takes him back at all when this is all over with Tico…don’t you think so?

I have to say that I really like the friendship between Evangeline and Nora. It reminds me of a wonderful friendship that I miss on the show between Viki and Rae. These two women are very smart and funny and their conversations and banter are fun to watch.

And on to the next controversy…what about Bo and Nora? I did enjoy their conversation after Evangeline finally convinced Nora to go to Bo once again and ask for her forgiveness for what she did to destroy their marriage. I thought Nora’s conversation with Bo was great…and a long time coming. It was open, honest and it was good to see the depth of the friendship and understanding between these two. Who knows what will ultimately happen between Bo and Nora? I just know that their relationship is one that shouldn’t die on a show where so many relationships of value have definitely died.

Wasn’t it fun seeing crazy Margaret again? I hope no one else in Llanview cracks up any time soon. I don’t think there’s an empty room left at St. Ann’s.

In closing, let me express my sympathy to poor Dorian who claims to actually be broke. Of course the best line of the week was her response to David when he discussed them being broke and when that word “broke” was unacceptable she gave it such a classy name when she said, “Darling, we’re cash challenged.” You go Dorian…and tell me…what did you do with Adriana’s $30 million that you hid in the Cayman Islands?

See ya next week...

FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS

Kim writes: “I'm a new fan of OLTL and want to know if you can tell me who plays the role of Mrs. Bigelow?”

Dear Kim: I welcome you as a new fan and I hope that you are about to see some positive changes to the show…fingers crossed. The role of Mrs. Bigelow is played by Patricia O’Connell.

Adrianne writes: “I hope that once this whole Santi ordeal is over they will give Jessica a role that won't make her look as if she is a complete nut. She doesn't show any common sense and seems to fall for anything.”

Dear Adrianne: Yes, Jessica certainly does have a much too trusting nature and has a naïve streak a mile long. It’s about time she wised up…she’s had more than enough experience as the girl who would buy sand in the desert.

Michele writes: “What is with the Santi bashing? Tico is the hottest thing to arrive in Llanview since... since... the second Sam. And Sonia is so pretty and tough, way more interesting to watch than bratty, trashy Natalie or the 'whites of her eyes' Jessica. Antonio is Manuelito Santi and Carlotta is not his real mother -- that is huge! And now to hear Tico and Sonia are leaving? What a bummer!! Tico is eloquent, polite, and gracious. I love the way he is only bad on the inside, and his terribleness is so subtle. He is so adorable when he gets mad and holds it back. Tico time is quality time.”

Dear Michele: Oh My Goodness! Someone…PLEASE…Get me a drink! Michele, please don’t be offended but you gave me my biggest laugh of the week. Tico is the hottest thing since the second Sam? Do you mean the second Sam who looked like Ben’s little baby brother rather than his big brother, Sam? The one who looked like Nora’s baby brother…and Lindsay’s baby brother? I have always said I mean no offense towards Larry Lau, but in no way was that guy Sam Rappaport…sorry! Can you possibly be serious when you say that Tico is only bad on the inside? Adorable? Michele, you’re killing me!
