REFLECTIONS BY JILL….OK…the thing I am waiting for most is for Walker to finally be revealed as Todd. I am getting very tired of wondering whether to call him Walker or Todd, or Walker/Todd…Geez! I guess his secret is finally going to come out and very soon…hopefully this week. Viki is about to put two and two together and we all know how smart Viki is…she’ll definitely come up with four. I can’t wait for the light bulb to go on when she figures it out. I think the reunion is going to be great…after she gets done strangling his scrawny little neck. I’m surprised she hasn’t figured it out already.

Flynn sure did a bad job of imitating Todd, didn’t he? He had the clothes and the hair done the “Walker” way, but as soon as he opened his mouth it was a riot. And why didn’t Blair catch on that he was Flynn right away? She’s met and talked to him before and she knows Flynn is on the loose. If he called her “Baby” in that wacky voice one more time I was going to yell at the screen for her to wake up and smell the imposter.

I loved the scenes between Viki and Walker when she was so upset and begged him not to print any more dirt about Kevin in The Sun. I’ve always loved the fact that somewhere in that maniacal head of his, Todd desperately loves Viki and her family and it was great to see him so calmly agree to give her what she wanted. Her release of emotions after he agreed not to write about Kevin was incredible. Like I said last week…how much is this woman supposed to go through? Viki breaking down in front of Walker was so much a Viki/Todd moment. It reminded me of the scene where he was with her at Llanfair when she first noticed she was losing her hair from the chemotherapy and broke down.

On to Lindsay…I sure hope that she has smartened up a bit. I’m hoping now that Colson told her about David’s checkered past…and present…that she will wise up. She better have a plan to outsmart David because if she has let him sweet talk her into being partners with him and she walks blindly into a black hole again, she deserves to go back to St. Ann’s and take over Dr. Troy’s bed when he comes back to Llanview. Linz, I hope you’re living by that old adage, “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.”

I thought the scenes between Roxy and Natalie were very sweet. I was a bit surprised when Natalie decided to stay at the cottage with Roxy instead of moving back into Llanfair…but after giving it some thought I think that Natalie just doesn’t feel like she fits in any more…just like she felt before she had Cristian. Hopefully she and Roxy will be good for each other…they both need somebody and I think Natalie probably feels too smothered by Viki’s unconditional love, which she will have to remember she’s deserving of after she deals with her grief. On a lighter note, how fun was it when Roxy called the cottage, “you know, the Hansel and Gretchen gingerbread house?” You can’t help but laugh at Roxy, especially when she throws herself all over Ron and he takes it in such a good-natured way.

Are you wondering like I am whether Kelly’s money was really taken from David in Mexico…or did he spend the money on another scheme and pull a “Keri” and slam himself into a door? LOL! Every time I ask myself if he could be that mean I think of his charming ways and think he couldn’t…but now that he’s dividing his gigolo time between Dorian, Lindsay and Kelly, I have to say that cute as he is, he’s playing them all. And by the way…can they build another set to serve as a motel room already? That room that David and Kelly were staying in…in Mexico…that set has been used as a motel room in every city around the world on this show. Aside from Kelly and David, Roseanne lived in it – Ben and Viki had their honeymoon on the run in it – Ben and Gina waited for their mob meeting in it - and countless others I won’t bother to mention. When OLTL skimps on the expenses, they make it way too obvious. They hardly even change the décor.

So finally, Rex admits that he is in love with Jen. WHO CARES? This relationship is more than horrible. Oh, and Jen, the next time you flee a guy’s apartment, make sure you at least have your blouse entirely ON, if not buttoned…LOL! This is one girl who is definitely more comfortable undressed, even in public. I wish Joey would catch them in the act, even though I’d hate to see Joey hurt that way…but it is inevitable. He’s going to find out that she’s taking birth control pills, but will he finally figure it all out?

Again I have to say that I’m getting my biggest laughs out of Dorian and Governor Brooks. I love the way she told him she was a doctor and he threw her onto a committee. He’s surely got her number and it’s funny to watch him work her - like the way he asked her, “What do you do?” That was a slam and it went right over her head like so many things do. I love it when she tried to badmouth “poor Viki and her mental condition” yet again and the governor said it wasn’t any of his business, now was it hers. There are some major fireworks coming up between Viki and Dorian when they get stranded together. I can’t wait.

I was a bit shocked when Kevin told Kelly he wanted a divorce…and if he thinks he’s convincing when he says he’s not expecting to go after Blair if he’s free…I’m not buying it. Who is he kidding? I found it interesting when he told Kelly that she has never gotten over her guilt about hurting Joey. I was wondering if that would ever come up. Kelly loved Joey and his family too much to not feel guilty over what happened.

I still haven’t quite figured out how this Al/Marcie thing is going to work. From what I gather, Al has taken over Michael’s body and although everyone will see him as Michael, we will be seeing him as Al. I know it’s supposed to be a “Heaven Can Wait” take-off, but I’m not too crazy about the idea. They’ll have to convince me.

The storyline I find myself liking a lot these days is the Bo/Nora/Matthew relationship. This surprises me because as I’ve said before, I was never that keen on Bo and Nora reuniting, but I like the idea more and more all the time. There is a bond between Bo and Nora that, if nothing else, is a wonderful lifelong friendship and I think the more time they spend together, the more they will be reminded of what they once meant to each other. Throw in an adorable little boy who left them speechless the other day by calling Bo “Dad” and you’ve got the makings of…Oh my goodness…could it be…a loving soap family with a happy mature couple? Bo was very much there for Nora through her campaign for the District Attorney position, just like she was there for him when Gabrielle left him after Al’s death…and that hug he gave her before she called Colson to concede the election was very sweet – a nice moment. I’ve always loved Bo (next to “you know who” he’s my favorite) and with Nora being written as the old Nora again who I always loved…this could once again be a great match.

OK, since I don’t want to disappoint the reader whose email appears below, I will say a little something about the spoiler I read where the governor is going to kiss Viki and she will feel guilty. All I can say is…hey, a little guilt is a healthy thing. I’d sure have to march myself down to the studio and throw myself across the front steps in protest if Viki tossed caution to the wind…wouldn’t I?

See ya next week...

FAN FEEDBACK AND QUESTIONS

Blondie1186 writes:What is TPTB that you refer to in your column?  I love your column, but I do have to say that it is time for you to accept that Viki and Ben are a no-go. It gets rather old to hear you talk about them every week.  I think Dobson is an excellent actor and given a good story line he will be an asset to the show.  And thank goodness for Heather Toms being hired to replace the current Kelly.  Tracey Melchior just doesn't fit the role.  Heather Tom's should definitely give that nasty Kevin a run for his money.  And last but not least, it is a shame that they killed off the wrong Vega brother.  Antonio is a real creep. His angry violent outbursts are horrible and then to have him portrayed as a good guy is not a good thing.”

Dear Blondie 1186:  I, for one, am not jumping out of my seat over the replacement of Tracey Melchior as Kelly. I think Tracey has been doing a good job in the role with the writers now portraying Kelly as a desperate wife clinging at any cost to her husband for fear of chalking up another failed relationship. I have nothing against Heather Tom, but bringing on another actress to play the role is not going to change the person that Kelly is unless they change the writing. If Kelly were being written as a strong woman who was not desperate to do anything to hold her dying marriage together, Tracey would be playing her that way. HEATHER won’t give KEVIN a run for his money. If they write the character differently, then KELLY will give KEVIN a run for his money. I don’t think it’s Tracey’s fault that the fans don’t like Kelly the way they used to.

Now, as far as Viki and Ben go…as long as Ben is alive, I will write about him like I write about just about every other character on the show every week. To me and many other fans, he’s still a major part of Viki’s life and hey, everyone has their favorites…he and Viki are mine. I’m sorry you think my talking about them is getting old, but you sure have a right to feel that way, just like I, being the writer of this column, have a right to keep them alive. I think they are more alive in many ways than some other characters on the show that are walking around on the screen wasting air time. (Oh, and TPTB = The Powers That Be).  LOL…is it a coincidence that your screen name is “Blondie?”  Thanks for reading my column…I’m glad you enjoy it…well, most of it.

Tanya writes:OK Jill…Please tell me Antonio is not next to go or even in the future--If he is gone--OLTL is out of my life.”

Dear Tanya:  Thank you for the laugh. I am sitting here after just reading how the fan in the email above wanted Antonio dead and then I read your email. Well girl, you and I are certainly in the minority. For whatever reason, even though sometimes I swear he’s going to have a stroke and his head is going to blow off, I still like Antonio, too. Sometimes he makes it hard to like him, but somewhere under all that huffing and puffing is a very good heart…and I hope now that he’s gone to Rae voluntarily to talk about the loss of his brother he will be able to heal and calm down. I haven’t heard anything about him leaving the show or being on the upcoming killer’s list and it would be so heartbreaking for Carlotta to lose both of her beloved sons…so maybe he’ll be around for a while.

Heather writes: “I am still sad over the fact that John Bolger was let go from OLTL.  Rae and John were WONDERFUL together.  Linda Dano is such a great actress.  I can't understand why TPTB at OLTL do not give her a meaningful role.  Is John Bolger still directing?  Maybe there is still hope that they will reconcile.  Also, too many people are dying on the show.  I hope they cool it for a while.”

Dear Heather:  I share your love of John Bolger as John Sykes. I was a fan of his before he came to OLTL and I loved his relationship with Rae. I also adore Linda Dano and unfortunately, she seems to have come up against the big brick wall that keeps most of the more mature actors on the show from getting meaningful storylines. I would love to see John come back. Bo needs a good, strong detective back on his police force. I haven’t checked lately, but not too long ago I noticed that Bolger was still doing some directing. As far as all the killings go…with this new Music Box serial killer storyline, I’m afraid we’ve not even begun to see how bad the killing can get.

Renee writes: “Have you heard any of the crazy rumors that Brian Frons is out or may be on his way out and that Angela Shapiro could be returning to ABC Daytime?”

Dear Renee:  From everything I’ve heard, it is for now just a rumor that Angela Shapiro is coming back to head up ABC Daytime. She was released from her job as head of the ABC Family Channel and the rumors are flying that Brian Frons is not achieving the desired success for the ABC soaps, but as far as I know, it is so far all rumor that Angela will return to replace him. If information comes out to the contrary, I will surely post it.
