Kevin invites his family to Asa’s house in order to reveal that he is definitely going to London – and he’s leaving today. Everyone in against him leaving, Kelly explains that this way Kevin can find an apartment for them to live in. Viki and Clint both want Kevin to stay, but know that going to London might be good for him and Kelly. Asa is adamant about having Kevin stay at least another day, so he and Renee can see the baby. Kevin has to go to get things in London BE rolling. Asa toasts Kevin, Kelly and Zane. Kevin says goodbye to everyone as he leaves for London. Todd sees Van at Rodi’s and wants to talk with her to apologize, but Van won’t talk to him. Todd wishes her well and will see her at the trial. Van doesn’t want him at the trial and will have the judge throw him out. Van leaves. Mike and Marcie go to see Rex and hire him to find Tommy’s parents. Mike doesn’t want to find them, but Marcie wants to find them only to find out Tommy’s medical history.

Rex agrees to help find Tommy’s parents, Todd barges in and overhears this. Rex explains that he’s got a lead on Todd’s kid – the lawyer’s secretary has agreed to meet with him in a little while and he’s got a plan to get the deceased lawyers records. Mike and Marcie go to Spencer’s trial. Todd wants Rex to find his kid…ASAP. Vince finds Nat at John’s grave and forces her to stop. Nat explains that she will go crazy not knowing if John is really alive or not. Vince doesn’t want to know if the person in the grave isn’t John, because that means it might be Hugh. Nat doesn’t stop digging and wants Vince to help her. Vince takes the shovel out of her hands and forces her to stop, explaining that Bo could get an order to have the grave exhumed. Nat knows that it will take days for that to happen. Vince wants to take Nat back to the hospital to see if there is anything that Bo could do.

Nat can’t go on not knowing, she only hopes that John didn’t give up after knowing everybody thought he was Hugh. Spencer and Mark, his lawyer, get ready for his trial to start. Mark thinks it might be a good idea if David didn’t testify, David overhears this and explains that he can’t wait to see Spencer finally pay for what he did. Spencer takes David aside and tries to sway David into thinking that David owes him from saving him from Thomas McBain’s bullet. David is resentful, seeing as how Spencer made him think he was a murderer for 25 years. Spencer offers David money if he doesn’t testify. David explains that he no longer needs Spencer’s money because he is leaving. Spencer knows that, even if David does leave, that he’ll be back. Mark takes Spencer aside and whispers something to him. Spencer turns back to David and asks if he will have a “memory lapse” while on the stand. David shakes his head ‘no,’ as he sits in his seat. Van shows up to prepare for her first act as a DA, Nora comes in to give Van a pep talk. The Judge finally enters the courtroom and announces that Spencer’s trial has begun. . .

Nat and Vince show up at the police station in search of Bo, Nat remembers that Spencer’s trial starts today and they rush to the courthouse. Van makes a compelling opening statement, wherein she explains that Spencer is a cold-hearted killer who left a family to grieve over the loss of a loved one during a holiday season. Mark, in turn, gives an opening statement about what a respected man in the community Spencer is and how he is a life-saver not a life-taker. The Judge orders a recess of one hour. Spencer turns to David and asks if he’s considered the previous offer. David laughs in Spencer’s face and wants Spencer to realize that his “reign or terror” is over, David explains that he wants to make sure Spencer is convicted and sentenced to jail. Bo receives a letter from an officer, he opens it only to read that John’s grave was vandalized.
