Fan Recap for One Life to Live

From Richard Schwertfager, for About.com

Andy tries to talk some sense into Todd about coming to terms with his final days, but Todd passes it off as a joke. Andy hopes that Van can find something to help exonerate Todd. Todd tells Andy that he doesn’t need any help because he is innocent, Andy reminds Todd that he is there for him if he should change his mind. Nat calls out to Margaret, who quickly runs away. Nat tries to run after her but falls. David explains to John that Margaret is alive and in Thailand. John doesn’t believe him, David assures him that Margaret is alive and well. John takes David to the hotel where he and Nat are staying. Nat confirms that Margaret is alive. John handcuffs David to a chair, gives Nat a gun to keep watch over David and goes out in search of Margaret. David tries, but fails, to convince Nat to let him go. Blair and Spencer are having a little quarrel outside Kelly’s room. Spencer thinks Blair will be able to get over Todd fairly quickly, but Blair explains that she can’t turn off her feelings just like that. Dorian and Adriana show up to check on Kelly before heading over to the church for the funeral.

Layla meets Adriana there and they planned to go to the funeral together for support. Kelly wants to be at the church but Dorian convinces her to stay in bed. Spencer, Blair and Dorian head over to the church. Hugh checks on Kelly to see if she is ok or to see if she needs something. Kelly begs Hugh to get her out of the hospital, Hugh pulls a few strings and gets Kelly released. Viki and Clint are consoling each other at the casket as they talk to the priest. Kevin takes one look at the casket and can’t bring himself to go into the church, he opts to go outside but is attacked by the press. Tess comes to bat for Kevin and gets rid of all the media outside. Tess explains that Duke was the only Buchanan who accepted her and understood her. Dorian and Blair show up with Spencer right behind them.

Mike and Marcie tag along, Spencer is happy to see them so happy. Viki overhears Dorian saying that she’s glad Duke died instead of Kelly. Dorian turns around to see Viki glaring at her, Viki resists the attempt to throw Dorian out but explains she doesn’t want to see Dorian for a long time. The funeral begins with Viki paying homage to her grandson, Viki is then followed by Clint who talks about Duke’s life. Marcie gets up to sing Duke’s favorite song. After the song, Kevin goes to the altar to give a heartfelt eulogy for his son. Kelly is wheeled into the church but stays out of sight. Kevin breaks down over his son’s casket and then catches a glimpse of Kelly. Kevin demands that Kelly leave before he makes her leave. . .

Van goes to see Hugh to try to convince him to exhume Margaret’s body. Hugh is against the idea because Van has neither the evidence nor the time to support her claim. Van gets a call from Ellen Foley, Ginger’s mom and Margaret’s sister, who denies her the right to exhume Margaret’s body. Hugh apologizes but there is nothing he can do. Van calls Cris and asks him to drive her to Harrisburg to meet with the governor. Cris checks up on Antonio, who is set on leaving the hospital. Cris thinks he should stay in the hospital but he knows his brother will do what he wants to do. Antonio asks about his and Van’s relationship, thinking they are something more than friends. Cris explains that Van saved his life so they will always be more connected than just friends. Antonio admits that he’s getting desperate, thinking Jess will never be strong enough to come back out.

Kevin demands that Kelly leave, Kelly wants to stay there and say goodbye to her friend. Kevin becomes more enraged at Kelly’s defiance to leave, Dorian chimes in and tells the people in the church that Kevin is sterile. Viki can’t believe that Dorian would be that petty. Adriana asks Kevin and Kelly to put Duke’s needs first right now. Clint breaks up the argument, saying that they should mourn Duke instead of blame each other for his death. Dorian and Adriana wheel Kelly out of the church and bring her back to the hospital. Kelly can’t help but feel at fault for Duke’s death and can’t help but feel pity for Kevin. Dorian can’t believe that Kelly is blaming herself, saying that the real person they should blame is Kevin.

After the service, Kevin goes outside to be alone, Clint finds him and tries to console him. Kevin storms away, Clint is worried about where Kevin might go to deal with his sorrows. Blair tells Spencer that she wants to make funeral arrangements for Todd, Viki overhears her and wants to help – thinking that, even though Todd made a lot of mistakes, he still had the capacity to love. Spencer takes off for the hospital, en route he calls David and tells him to get Margaret out of Thailand before John finds her. Nat stands guard over David while John visits Margaret’s place of employment. There he finds a journal and brings it back to the hotel.
