Adriana finally tells Rex that she wants to be with him, Rex makes sure that that is really what she wants. Adriana makes it clear that she wants him, they make out in his car. Duke tried to add traction to the tires by using his jacket, letting his shirt become soaking wet. Duke gets back in the car, shivering. Kelly takes off her jacket, they make a blanket and try to stay warm. Kevin wakes up and stumbles to what he thinks is his car. Kevin catches Duke and Kelly in what he thinks is a compromising position, Kevin faints. Duke and Kelly rush him to the hospital. Blair goes to see Todd in jail so they could spend New Years Eve together. Todd says they should be married and together, and is convinced that the charges will be dropped. Tess wants to leave Llanview, but Nash sticks by his promise to Jessica. They go back to Llanfare and make love. Cris runs into Natalie and breaks open a bottle of champagne with her. Nat asks what they are toasting to. Cris decided to give her a divorce but he won’t sign the papers for a few months – just to give Nat some time to really think the divorce thru. Van visits John and breaks open a bottle of wine with him. Van tries to get John out of the office, but John is adamant about staying. John reconsiders and walks Van home, they run into Nat and Cris on the way. Barely exchanging New Years’ greetings, the 2 couples walk past each other. Clint blames Dorian if anything happens to Viki, Dorian apologizes for not seeing thru Niki’s scheme. Rene calls Clint to tell him that Viki is at the Palace and acting weird. Clint and Dorian show up to see David and Dorian dirty dancing together. Clint breaks them up and talks some sense into Niki, he kisses her and Viki comes out. They go back to Llanfare. As midnight approaches, David lays a kiss on Dorian and tells her how good they would’ve been together. Spencer gets Asa to wake up and tells him what he’s going to do to his family ~ Bo is convicted of conspiracy, Clint is indicted on fraud, Kevin declares bankruptcy for BE and Duke is found dead in an apparent suicide. . .

Adriana tells Dorian that she and Rex almost had sex, Dorian promises not to tell Duke but wants Adriana to tell him. Nina, an employee from UV, stops by Rex’s house to drop off year-end financial statements. Nina throws herself at Rex and he tells her that he can’t sleep with her because he is in love with someone else. Nina takes off, Roxy returns from her cruise. Rex tells her about his New Years Ever with Adriana, and makes the decision that he has to turn Adriana down. Nash serves breakfast in bed to Tess, Tess admits that she is scared about having the baby. Nash also got parenting books and plans to read them cover-to-cover so they can raise their child. Tess knows there is a small chance that Antonio is the father. Antonio goes to John for help on running a background check on Nash, John allows him to use the police computers. Dr. Crosby tracks down John and reminds him that he missed the appointment. John didn’t plan on going to the appointment. Dr. Crosby tells John that if he doesn’t come for therapy, he will report John to Bo. John reluctantly agrees to have a session with the doctor. Crosby promises that the faster John opens up, the faster the treatments go. Kelly and Duke see Kevin at the hospital, they try to explain to him how they ended up in the situation but Kevin is still suspicious. Mike tries to figure out how Kevin could’ve contracted the virus that is attacking his spinal column, Spencer tells Mike to treat Kevin and then play investigator. Nat goes to see Cris, Cris still thinks there is hope for a new beginning for them. Nat makes it clear that she is no longer his wife and no longer loves him. . .

Adriana goes to Rex’s apartment to tell him that she’s going to break up with Duke and wants to start a relationship with him. Adriana finds Nina in Rex’s bed, she runs home. Duke is there waiting for her. Adriana breaks up with Duke, saying that she wants to move on and that she doesn’t love him anymore. John threatens to beat up a suspect if he doesn’t tell him the truth, Bo intervenes and takes John off the case. Bo warns John that he better watch his step or IA will have a field day with him. John agrees to calm down. Rex shows up to see Bo, he asks for advice about how to deal with Adriana. Bo, shocked to learn that Rex is in love with Adriana, tells Rex not to give up hope on her because things do work out for themselves.
