One Life to Live Recap for Monday, March 31, 2003

Blair went to Llanfair so that she could talk to Viki.  She was very surprised when the person who greeted her at the door was Mitch.  Viki asked him what he was doing there, and he explained that the judge said that everything that Victor Lord left him in his last will was valid.  Blair said that it didn’t matter, because those possessions would always be Todd and Viki’s.  Blair asked Mitch where Todd was, because she told him that she overheard him talking to his ‘associates’ and that she knew that he had been hidden in the mausoleum.  She grilled Mitch, begging him to tell her where he put Todd since he must have moved him from the mausoleum.  Mitch said that he didn’t know what she was talking about, and that she was completely insane to think that any of this was true.  Mitch reminded Blair that she was up on charges for murder, and that she shouldn’t worry about other things.  Blair said that they both knew that she didn’t kill Sam, and it was only a matter of time before the truth came out: that Mitch was Sam’s true killer.  Mitch denied it, but Blair had already made up her mind that he at least had something to do with Sam’s death.  Blair threatened that if she was to go to jail for a murder, it would be Mitch’s.  Mitch called her out on her threat, and Blair stood her ground: she wasn’t going to be afraid of Mitch, and she wasn’t going to let his threats on her children stop her from testifying against him in court.  She stormed out and slammed the door.

Later, Mitch and his lawyer were collaborating over some issues with Victor Lord’s estate.  His lawyer told him about Todd’s assets, and how there was a huge discrepancy over what he should have, and what was recovered.  She said that it was most likely the case that someone is harboring a lot of jewelry and cash, liquidated a lot of his assets, and is pulling the wool over their eyes.  Mitch asked how they would go about getting this stuff back, and the lawyer replied that they would have to heavily sue Todd for the assets.  Mitch said not to bother with that, and escorted her out.  The lawyer reminded him that he was still on trial for kidnapping, and that he needed to make sure that he didn’t associate himself with anything that could get him in more trouble.  She said that if one thing happened, then he would go to jail for a long time.  Mitch promised her that he would stay out of trouble.  She left, and Mitch added that he would not get caught, at any rate.

In some unknown indoor location, Blair was placing large amounts of jewelry in a wall safe.  She said that she had to take all of these things so that Starr and Jack could have them, and so that she could protect her family.  Out of the safe, she pulled a gun, and said that she was going to do anything to protect her family.

Jen and Lindsay were in tears over Jen’s confrontation to Lindsay about Sam.  Lindsay finally admitted that she was the one who killed Sam, but that it was a mistake; she really meant to shoot Troy.  Jen said that there was no way that this could be excused by saying it was a mistake.  She said that Lindsay shot her father, and that was too much to handle.  Lindsay kept on trying to make excuses, saying that she thought it was Troy, and that she thought that Troy and Blair were sleeping together.  She said that her jealousy got the best of her, and that she felt this unstoppable rage inside of her.  The only way that she could stop it was to shoot the gun and kill (what she thought was) Troy.  Jen was hysterical at this point, and couldn’t believe any of what her mother was saying.  She asked Lindsay what she wanted her to do, and Lindsay said that she wanted her to forgive her, so that they could move on and deal with the death of their family member.  Jen pushed her away and said that she could never forgive her mother for what she did.  Jen told Lindsay that she killed the one good thing in her life; the one person who loved her unconditionally and never lied to her about anything.  Lindsay said that she loved Jen, but Jen didn’t want to hear it.  She said that she couldn’t stand to be in the same room as her mother at that time, and she left.  Lindsay broke down even more, and Sam appeared.  She asked him if he was happy, since she confessed to killing him.  Sam said that it was only the beginning, and that she was going to suffer for a long time.

Lindsay decided that she had to leave, but ran into Mitch on her way out the door.  Lindsay mumbled something to him about having to leave because she didn’t have anything left.  Her daughter hated her, and so she really had nothing left in Llanview.  Mitch angrily asked her if she told Jen about the murder, and Lindsay admitted to him that she told Jen.  Mitch was irate over this, and tried to shake some sense into her.  Lindsay wouldn’t hear it, as she grabbed her keys and left the building.  In her car, Lindsay pulled out a bottle of pills and started to pour them into her hand, but not before a gloved-Mitch put a chloroform-filled hankerchief over her mouth and caused her to pass out.

Al and Marcie meet at a restaurant to study and get some drinks.  Al offered to get some food, but Marcie turned it down, citing hers and Jen’s conversation about eating too much. Al couldn’t believe that Jen had told Marcie that she was fat and ate too much.  He told her that it was completely uncalled for, and that she shouldn’t listen to her.  Marcie said that she was right, though, that she was really trying to help her.  Marcie tried to explain that, no matter her emotion, it triggers her eating.  Al pulled away for a minute, and turned around, pulled out the bag of pills, and said “well, we all have our vices.”  He turned back around and looked at Marcie, and passed up on taking another pill.  Al and Marcie continued to bond at a table.  Marcie encouraged Al by telling him that he really wasn’t as scary/awful as she had originally thought.  Al received a phone call from work (the radio station) and he was told he had to go in and record some more “voice of the night” material before the end of the evening.  He said goodbye to Marcie (after offering her a ride anywhere she needed to go) and left.  Outside, he popped another pill….

Nora and Bo strategized over their next move with Lindsay.  Nora asked if Bo was sure that Jen recognized the gun, or if her reaction was just in shock over seeing the murder weapon.  Bo said that he was sure that the gun struck a chord with Jen, one that was not just from shock of seeing the gun that killed her father.  Antonio barged into the office, and asked the commissioner why he took Antonio off of the murder case.  Bo said that he wanted him to be assigned to something else, because he felt as though Antonio was getting too involved.  Antonio said that he wanted to still be on the case so that they could put Blair away for what she did.  Nora piped in and said that they really didn’t know if Blair did it, and that they thought that perhaps Troy was the real target.  Bo stopped Nora from saying anymore, and told Antonio that he had made up his mind about the case, and that Antonio just needed to accept this decision.  Antonio stormed out.  Nora and Bo decided that it was time to find Jen and ask her some questions about the murder weapon, and see if she knew any more than what she was saying.

Antonio went to the bar and got himself drunk pretty quickly.  He spotted Troy, and immediately started in on him.  He asked Troy why he was really over at Blair’s that night: was he there just to have sex with her, or were there other reasons?  Troy told Antonio that he was out of line, and that he didn’t have a right to ask these questions, but Antonio continued.  He told Troy that he was so much more responsible than he knew, for the death of Sam, since the killer might have really been trying to kill Troy, and not Sam!  Of course, Troy was shocked to hear that someone might have wanted to kill him.  Antonio said that the wrong man was definitely killed.  Troy told Antonio that he was way out of line, and that he didn’t have to hear this.

One of the sergeants who happened to be at this bar, and hearing Troy and Antonio’s conversation called Bo and let him know of the situation.  Bo and Nora headed to the bar right away.

They arrive at the bar, and Bo tells Antonio that he wants to speak to him outside right away.  Antonio goes outside, and Bo tells him that he’s gone too far.  Bo had removed him from this case, and yet Antonio was doing ‘work’ behind his back.  Bo forced Antonio to give up his badge, as he wasn’t fit to work in his condition.  Antonio handed over his badge and left.

Bo returned to the bar, and apologized to Troy for the scene. Troy said that it was ok, that he understood that Antonio was going through a hard time since losing his fiancée.  Troy asked if it was true, that the police thought that the real target was he.  Bo said that they were examining all options, but didn’t give much more information than that.

At the bar/restaurant, Gabrielle tried to soak in the information that Bo was really the father of Matthew.  Max approached her, and he asked her what was wrong.  After swearing him to secrecy, she confided in him what she had found.  Gabrielle voiced her concern that, if Bo knew that he was the father, it would be just enough to bring Nora and Bo back together as a couple.  Max encouraged her to keep it a secret, so that she wouldn’t ever have to worry about him finding out.  Gabrielle said that if she kept it a secret and if he found out, he’d never forgive her.  Max said that he would never have to find out.  Gabrielle said that she just couldn’t make up her mind about what to do yet.  Max, after looking behind her shoulder and seeing Bo, told her that she was going to have to make up her mind very quickly.  Max left, and Bo went over to Gabrielle’s table.  They hugged, and Bo told her that his work was going to keep him away until Morning, so not to wait for him.  Gabrielle said that was fine, and they parted ways.

Jen went back to Lindsay’s house looking for her mother.  Just as she was about to give up, Bo and Nora entered through the front door.  Startled, Jen asked them what they were doing there.  Nora told Jen that she just wanted to ask her a couple of questions.  First, Nora asked where Lindsay was, and Jen lied and said that she was at a meeting.  Then, she asked Jen if she had any reason to believe that her mother was connected to the murder of her father in any way.  Jen acted surprised, and wondered how they could ever think a thing like that.  Bo approached Jen and gave her his home number and said that if she ever wanted to talk, or, if she decided that she had something she wanted to say, that she should call him anytime day or night.  Jen took the card, and Bo and Nora left.  In the elevator, Bo and Nora agreed that Jen was lying to cover for her mother.  Back in the gallery, Jen frantically tried to use the phone to contact her mother and find out where she was.

After so much work and effort, the dinner was ready for Carlotta and company.  Carlotta arrived, followed by Jessica shortly thereafter.  Natalie was a bit nervous about the whole situation, but Cristian tried to smooth things over.  At the dinner table, the conversation revolved mostly around Jessica, as Carlotta barely even paid attention to Natalie.  At the end of dinner, Natalie turned on the radio, as she had requested a song for them to hear.  Cristian and Natalie got up and began dancing.  Jessica wondered where Antonio was, since he had said he was going to be at the party.  Natalie went to go and get the dessert, and Carlotta encouraged Jessica to dance with Cristian.  Antonio arrived, and Carlotta started dancing with him.  Antonio didn’t mention any of the recent events that had transpired at work.  She tired quickly, and they both sat down and watch Cristian and Jessica.  Natalie came back in the room, and saw Jessica and Cristian dancing.  Carlotta made the comment that Jessica and Cris always looked so good together when they were dancing.  Natalie just stared with a hint of jealousy in that look….
