Troy’s Loft

Troy looks surprised to find Nora there. She asks him if it was ok that she let herself in and he tells her of course, since he loves her. She tells him that she called the clinic and they told her he hadn’t come in, and had also called his cell phone and was worried about him. Nora tells him that she guessed he was out with Emily celebrating and that she has told a few people herself and they were all happy for them. She then asks him if he had fun with Emily and Troy tells her he was not with Emily but with Lindsay.

Nora asks if he and Lindsay went at it. Troy asks what she means and she says the usual yelling and accusations from Lindsay. Troy explains that he didn’t run into Lindsay, he went to her gallery and Nora wants to know why he would go to the gallery and what happened between him and Lindsay.

Lindsay’s Gallery

Lindsay is caressing Troy’s tie and thinking about their encounter when she hears a noise. “Troy is that you? Did you forget something?” Lindsay calls out, but it is RJ that comes into the room.  Lindsay gets up and puts on a robe asking RJ what he thinks he is doing there.  RJ tells her he heard her call out and came to return her keys and drop off the papers from selling the gallery back to her.  She tells him to leave the papers and the keys on her desk on his way out.  RJ wants to know who the man in her life is, he is sure that Nora and “Doc Twin” will be happy about it.  RJ picks up Troy’s tie and tells Lindsay that whoever he is he has good taste in ties if not women.  Lindsay tells RJ she has missed him and had forgotten how funny he is.  Lindsay says that the last laugh will be on Nora and Troy and RJ asks her if she slept with someone to get back at Nora and tells her that she needs help. She should just let this go. Lindsay asks why she should let it go and says that he would be amazed if he knew who had just left.

Llanfair

Todd is storming out the door to go after Mitch as Viki tries to stop him. She wants to know what this is really about. What did Todd do all those years ago to Marty Saybrook? Viki gets Todd in the house and closes the door.  Todd tells her that he is going after Mitch because he is scum and that what he had done to Marty Saybrook is what Mitch had done to her.  Todd says that everyone hates him.  Viki, Blair, Tea, no one could forget what he had done and that would never change.  Viki tells him that she does not hate him.  She hates what he did, but not him.  Todd says that what he did is him and Viki says that is not true.  Viki tells Todd that no one can erase the mistakes they had made but people can change, that Todd had changed.  Viki tells Todd that he pushes people away and wouldn’t trust anyone or love anyone because he thinks he is cursed.  “Killing Mitch Lawrence isn’t going to change it.  It’s not going to change what you did or what he did and it’s not going to redeem you.”  Todd asks her if Mitch was going to get away with what he did.  Viki says “This is not about Mitch, this is about you and I do not hate you.  I hate Mitch Lawrence.  You are my brother and I love you.”  She tells him that she has forgiven him and Marty has forgiven him and that he has to forgive himself.  Todd becomes upset and tells her not to tell him to forgive himself.

Mitch Lawrence’s house

Mitch answers the door to find Jessica; he is surprised to see her. Jessica tells him she came there for a reason and he invites her in. Mitch wishes Jessica a Happy New Year and offers to get her something hot to drink. Jess stops him and says she came here in person for a reason. To tell him that she hates him and that she will always hate him. She wants nothing to do with him. She doesn’t want to see him ever, not here, not at Llanfair, not even walking down the street. Mitch tells her she doesn’t mean that and Jessie tells him she means every word. Mitch tells her that he is her father and Jessica responds that he is the worst person she has ever met in her life. Mitch will have not place in her life after tonight. Mitch asks her to understand that everything he did he did for her and Jess stops him telling him that he will not blame her for his obscene life.  She says that he used her and that if he thinks they will have some sort of happy father daughter reunion he is mistaken and turns to leave.  Mitch tells her that she has his mother’s eyes and voice and that he can hear his mother talking to him whenever Jess speaks. Mitch tells Jess that she can’t change that they share the same genes and the same blood and Jess tells him if she can’t change it then she will just forget it. Mitch asks her if she thinks she can really do that. Jessica replies that she is positive. She tells Mitch that she knows everything she will ever want to know about him and that she will never want to know more.  He tells her she is angry and there will come a time when she will want to know and that someday she will be a mother herself.  Jess interrupts him and says that she has already been a mother not that he would know or care. She wants to know why he did this to her.  Why he chose her family and her mother. She was conceived in hate and she asks how he could have done that to her.

Max/Roxy’s Place

Max and Roxy walk in talking about her mother and what an awful woman she is.  Max asks how her mother could be so cruel to Roxy and asks why she keeps going back there.  Roxanne tells him because that is her mother and every year she feels like a little girl again and hopes that her mother will be nice to her but that never happens.  Max tells her that it will never be good.  Roxy tells him that he was really good.  She calls him St Gorgeous the Dragon Slayer and starts to kiss him. Max pries her arms from around his neck and stops as he sees Asa standing at the door. 

Max asks Asa what he is doing there and Asa says he came by to go over some financial advice he promised to give Roxy.  Roxy jumps in and says that she wanted some advice on investing the money she won that night at the lodge.  Asa takes her appointment book to write the information down and hands it back to Roxy.  It says “I was ready to take you away, why didn’t you show up?” Roxy tells him that they should talk about it later and Max asks to see what Asa has written.

Lindsay’s Gallery

RJ sits down and tells Lindsay to go ahead and tell him everything.  She knows that she wants to confide.  She says she’d rather not.  She is, after all, “crazy Lindsay” and she obsesses over things that aren’t real.  She tells RJ that this was real, that she knows what happened and RJ tells her that if she expects him to believe that she just slept with Troy, he is not buying.  He tells her that Troy hates her and that she has always had a shaky grip on reality but that this is silly even for her.  Lindsay asks him then why would have Troy’s tie?  RJ says it may be Troy’s but Lindsay must have gotten at a hospital rummage sale or something because he knows that Troy loves Nora.  Lindsay says you’re right he absolutely does and by the way, did you know that they are engaged?  RJ looks at her and says are you telling me that Troy is engaged to Nora and two timing her with you?  Lindsay says he didn’t mean to do it, it just happened: obviously there was something about her he missed.  She knows he is good friends with Nora and she doesn’t want to talk to him about this.  She asks him to forget that she said anything.  RJ asks her if she is trying to get him to tell Nora.  She says that she would only want him to if he felt it was necessary.

Troy’s Loft

Nora asks Troy why he went to the gallery and he tells her he wanted to be the one to tell Lindsay about their engagement. He wanted to be sure she wouldn’t do anything crazy when she heard the news. He wanted to try to get her under control and make her stop hurting Nora. Nora tells him that even under the best of circumstances they can only hope that she will act rationally but she never does. Troy says he knows and that he had hoped to appeal to whatever decency she had left. Nora tells him she has no decency.  Lindsay would sleep with the devil and then beg for more. 

Nora wants to know if it was the usual Lindsay, ranting, raving, and threatening people’s lives and Troy says yes, but in the end she was ok with it. He tells Nora that Lindsay will no longer be a problem for them that he and Lindsay have come to an arrangement.

Todd’s Penthouse

Blair and Sam are kissing but Sam stops things saying he is uncomfortable. He tells Blair that he wants her but not here. Blair tells him she understands that this is not the perfect setting but she is stuck here. Sam tells her that it is Todd’s penthouse with a very jealous Todd, his bedroom, his bed. Blair reminds him that Todd is her ex-husband and that maybe she doesn’t want to be here but she is and that Sam is right, Todd is always on her mind. Sam wants to know what she means by that. Blair explains that she is not still in love with Todd but that she did live in the penthouse a long time with Todd and there are a lot of memories and that it would not be right for them to be together here.  She says that this really has nothing to do with them. It is just memories, ghosts of things that could have been and that now she wants to be with Sam. 

Llanfair

Todd walks out onto the terrace and Viki follows. She asks Todd if God can forgive him and she can forgive him and everyone can forgive him but he can’t forgive himself and he tells her that is correct. Viki says that is just like her not forgiving herself for letting Mitch take Jessica out of the hospital.  Todd says that is not true. She was drugged and had no choice. It was nothing she had done, she was the victim. He tells her that she doesn’t even remember doing this and that he did. He knew what he had done.  Viki tells him she is not trying to equate what she had done with what he had. Todd tells her she didn’t do anything, that something happened to her.  Viki tells him that she takes responsibility for what happened and that Jessica also blamed her for what happened.

Mitch Lawrence’s House

Jessica looks at Mitch in rage “I was conceived during a rape, you didn’t want a daughter, you wanted to hurt my mother. So you realize now that my mother can never look at me again without thinking of you. You ruined the most important thing in my life. You did the worst thing you could possibly do to me and my mom.” Mitch tries to convince Jessica that he did love her and want her. He tells her he died to give Jess the life she deserved. Jessica tells him you raped her, you drugged my mother. Mitch tells her that no matter how she was conceived she had to admit that she has had a good life. The life he had sacrificed to give to her and that she grew up to be such a beautiful and intelligent young woman.  He begs her not to let Viki make her feel bad about herself and Jess tells him she does not feel bad about herself and that she would not feel bad about her mom or Mitch and that she will pretend that she has no parents.  Mitch asks her if she never wanted to see him again why she had come to see him. Jessica tells him that she had to do this for herself.  People were always interfering and that he would not have listened if someone else had told him to stay away from her so she had to do this. It is her problem and she is going to deal with it. Mitch tells her he loves to see her like this, so forceful and strong.  She is definitely a chip off the old block. Jess asks if he is making fun of her and that she has never been more serious about anything in her entire life. He is out of her life forever. He stands in her way and tells her that is not a choice she can be allowed to make. He did not come back from the dead just to lose his daughter.

Troy’s Loft

Nora and Troy decide to go out and celebrate. Troy tells her that they can go out and then come home. Nora can do the things she needs to do and they can do some extra celebrating after she gets home.  They decide to have a dual celebration: their engagement and getting rid of Lindsay. Troy tells Nora to put on that dress that is hanging in his closet and he will go take a shower and get ready to take her out. They kiss and Nora goes to change.

Lindsay’s Gallery

RJ accused Lindsay of telling him about her and Troy just so he would go and tell Nora.  Lindsay says that is not so. This would hurt Nora terribly but that it might be better to find out than to actually marry a lying cheat. RJ tells Lindsay that if she wants someone to pour this poison into Nora’s ear she will have to find another patsy. He then asks Lindsay what she had on Troy in order to force him into bed with her. Lindsay said she didn’t need anything on Troy that he came over and got close and then closer and she really didn’t think she had to spell it out.

Max/Roxy’s Place

Max tries to take the book from Roxy’s hand and she tells him to get his own financial advice.  Max goes to answer the phone and gives Roxy a chance to talk to Asa.  She tells Asa she did mean to meet him but she had to go to her mothers since it was a holiday. Asa tells her no one stands up Asa Buchanan and he gives her one week to choose between him and Max.  Asa tells her if she doesn’t have a decision by the end of the week his deal is off the table. Roxy says she needs time to think and leaves. Max comes over and asks Asa where Roxy is. Asa says she went to think. Max asks “to drink” and Asa says no, to think. He wants to know what Max is up to and what was going on when he walked in.  He wants to know what kind of game Max is playing by holding Asa’s divorce papers and sending mixed signals to Roxy. They both question each other about their feelings for Roxy. 

Llanfair

Todd asks Viki if Jessica blames her for what happened and Viki confirms that Jessica thinks she just let Mitch take her away. Todd defends Viki and says that Viki was out of it and didn’t know what was happening.  Jessica needs to get a grip and get over it.  Viki says that Jessica believes Viki gave her to Mitch because Viki rejected her and Jess is just hurt. Todd starts to leave again saying he was going after Mitch. Viki tells him to stop. He can’t go after Mitch. He has his own children to think about and with Blair in the hospital if he went to prison for killing Mitch Cassie would raise his children. Todd stopped dead in his tracks.  Viki begs him to stop and think. She says she has already lost a child and she doesn’t want him to lose his.  Viki begs Todd not to get involved in this. She and Bo are working on this. Todd has no confidence in Bo’s getting anything done. Todd wants to know why he should sit on his hands and let Mitch get away with what he has done to both Viki and Jessica. Todd tells Viki he is going to check on the kids and leaves Llanfair. Viki thanks Todd for being there for her, for listening and being her brother.

Mitch’s place

Mitch begs Jessica to listen to him. He gets a scrapbook to show her. The scrapbook has clippings of her life and he tells her he has been there all the time and that he knew all about her life. He tells her that he collected all of this all of those years because he does love her and that she can’t leave him.
