One Life to Live Recap for Friday, February 7, 2003

At Llanview Hospital, Al rushed into the Emergency Room with an unconscious Jen in his arms.  He yelled for help, and received immediate attention from the staff.  Troy came over and tried to get Jen to open up her eyes.  She responded, and mumbled something about the police.  They took her into a room so that they could treat her.  Outside of the hospital room, Al paced back and forth, waiting to hear news about Jen’s condition.  Sam and Lindsay frantically arrived at the hospital and found Al.  They asked him how Jen was doing, but he didn’t have any idea.  He said that the staff would not let him get anywhere near Jen.  A nurse emerged from the room and Lindsay tried to go in to see Jen.  The nurse stopped her and told her that she would not be able to see Jen until the doctor had time to look over Jen and come out and talk to them together.  Lindsay asked which doctor was taking care of Jen.  The nurse replied that Dr. MacIver was taking care of her daughter. Lindsay seemed relieved that Troy was the doctor on duty. Bo arrived at the hospital wanting answers from Al. Al mentioned about Jen’s spoken words while she was barely conscious to Bo, and he said that he was really spooked about Jen’s words. Bo said that there might be something to what she was saying. Troy came out of Jen’s room and said that her temperature was rising steadily, and that she was going to be fine. Lindsay and Sam wanted to go in and see her, and Troy said that was fine. Troy mentioned that Jen requested that she speak to Bo first, before talking to anyone else. All three of them (Bo, Lindsay, and Sam) went into the room, and they were all happy to see Jen conscious. She was a bit out-of-it, however, so her conversations were a bit broken. Bo asked Jen what it was she had to say about her incident. She said that she was at Mitch Lawrence’s home, and that she found documents that made her very worried about Jessica and Natalie. She was practically incoherent, so it was hard to understand what she was saying.  Jen asked how she got in the hospital, and Sam and Lindsay told her that Al saved her life. She wanted to see Al right away. Sam and Lindsay left and sent Al in the room.  She asked him why he would save her, after everything that she did to him. He replied that he couldn’t just leave her there to die, could he? She thanked him, sincerely, and they shared a warm moment. Outside of Jen’s room, a nurse gave Lindsay her daughter’s belongings when she came into the hospital. The nurse handed her the robe. Bo asked Lindsay if that was Jen’s robe, and Lindsay said that she had never seen it before. Bo took a closer look at the scarf, and saw that there was an “L” embroidered at the edge. They both wondered if these garments belonged to Mitch Lawrence.

At the cabin, Cristian received a phone call from Mitch. Mitch claimed to know exactly where Natalie and Cristian were hiding, and he said he was going to come for them. Cristian hung up the phone, and Natalie asked who was on the phone. Cristian said that it was a wrong number, but Natalie didn’t believe him for a minute. She told him that he needed to be honest with him: was it Mitch Lawrence, she asked? Cris said that it was Mitch Lawrence. He relayed the conversation to Natalie, and they both agreed that they had to leave the cabin immediately. They packed, and got ready to leave. Natalie was trying to straighten up a mirror that was a bit off-center, and it fell on her. She got a cut on her leg, and she wasn’t able to walk. Cristian carried her over to the sofa, and tended to her wound. He told her that they would not be able to leave until morning, when she felt better. Natalie said that they had to leave right away, but Cristian said that it would be better for them to leave in the morning. That way, her leg could heal a bit, and the snow might let up as well. Natalie wasn’t satisfied that Mitch wasn’t outside at that very moment, so Cristian went around the entire cabin to see if anyone was actually outside. He came back in to report that there wasn’t anyone there. They both decided that if Mitch were truly around, he would have made some kind of entrance (or tried to attack them) already. Cris checked on Natalie’s leg again, and he noticed that it was starting to turn really red.  Natalie knew that meant it was getting infected, which meant that they would have to leave to get a doctor.

A nurse from the nursing home called Mitch and told him that the patient wasn’t going to make it much longer. Mitch told her to put him on the phone, but she said the patient was too weak.  Mitch said to relay a message to him that he was coming soon, and that he would have the girl with him. The camera moves over to the old man, barely hanging onto life, and we see that he is wearing a robe with the same “L” that Jen’s scarf had on it, embroidered on his robe pocket.

At Llanfair, Viki was delighted to see Jessica and Joey both in her living room. Viki was so happy to see that Jessica was home, but Jessica still had mixed feelings. Jessica said that she had a wonderful time with her father. Viki pointed out that she said “father” referring to Clint. Jessica said that he was her father, and that she knew that, even if he wasn’t her biological father.  Viki was very happy to hear that, and asked Jessica if she would be staying at Llanfair. Jessica confirmed that, in fact, she would be staying there… for a little while, anyway. Todd barged in the front door, and he started blurting out about some partnership between The Sun and The Banner, so that they could collaborate on a story about Mitch Lawrence, and somehow exploits him for whom he really was. Jessica started getting uncomfortable, and so she and Joey went into the kitchen to make lunch. Viki asked Todd what was really wrong because she knew that Mitch didn’t have him this worked up. She asked if Blair was upsetting him, and Todd said yes. He explained everything that he did, and Viki was shocked.  he said that she couldn’t believe that he would do such a thing to Blair and the kids. He said that he was desperate and really wanted to be with Blair, and that he thought it was the only way. He said that he was focusing his energy on Mitch, and bringing him down, because he knew that, since Jessica was back in town, there was no way he was going to let up on his pursuit of getting her.  Viki said that even though she was worried for Jessica, she knew that Mitch wouldn’t hurt Jess, since she is his daughter.  Viki said that she was more worried about what he wanted to do to Natalie, and some of the other people in this town, who were all connected to Viki.  Todd said (in his loud booming voice) that he would not rest until he made sure that everyone was safe from Mitch Lawrence.  Viki said that Natalie was safe with Cristian, but Todd said that if anyone could find them, it would be Mitch.  Viki realized that he was right, and she let him go.  As Todd closed the front door, we see Mitch standing in the shadows of the bushes….

In the kitchen, Jessica and Joey bonded over making lunch.  They talked about how it would be fun if Kevin returned from Texas.  Jessica said that she knew there was still some blood between the two of them, but Joey said that was over.  He said he had forgiven him and moved on with life. Joey suggested that Jessica do the same with their mother. Jessica asked him if he ever felt “left out” because he was adopted, but Joey said that he knew who his parents were: Clint and Viki, because they loved him, and supported him.  That was all he needed.  Jessica realized that he was right. Joey received a call from Andrew, who said that he needed Joey at the shelter. Jessica and Joey finished making lunch, and took it in the living room. They all sat down together and joined hands in prayer before eating their meal. Joey led the prayer, and thanked God for keeping them safe, and for having them all there together.

Blair and Starr returned to Blair’s home. Starr was very upset with her mother at first, because she didn’t understand why Blair wouldn’t call Todd and work things out with him. Blair tried to explain that Todd had promised that he wouldn’t do anything drastic ever again, and he broke that promise. Because of that, she had no desire to see him or talk to him.  Blair called for a security guard to come and watch over the children for the night. Unfortunately, it was too much of a last-minute notice, and no one was able to accommodate her request. Starr didn’t comprehend why her mother was calling for a security guard. Blair clarified her memories of Todd taking her children away in the past, and she told Starr that she wasn’t about to let that happen. Starr could tell that Blair was really upset, and she asked her mother (again) why she wouldn’t just call Todd. Blair got very upset and said that there was no way that she could call him. In fact, she said, while looking at a picture of Todd, there was no way that she was going to waste any more tears over him again. She threw the picture on the ground, and it shattered. She cried, and Starr hugged her. A bit later, Starr said that she really wanted to see her father. Blair handed her a stuffed animal, and told her that she could talk to her magic frog like she used to do. Blair went upstairs and started to get ready for bed. Starr fell asleep on the couch while holding her stuffed frog.  Outside of the back porch, Mitch was standing there. He let himself in the back door, which was wide open, and he picked up Starr (while she was sleeping), and carried her out of the house.

At Carlotta’s diner, RJ was attached to a table with handcuffs that Antonio put on him. He was going crazy and throwing a fit.  He yelled at Carlotta and told her that he needed to be with Keri and that she couldn’t handle the information right then.  He said that he needed to go so that he could stop Antonio from telling Keri the truth. Carlotta tried to ignore him (even though he was throwing the WORST kind of fit!!!) and she eventually told him that her son knew what was best, and that she was going to wait until she heard from him. The unknown girl (who took Joey’s wallet a few days ago) walked in the diner and sat at the counter.  RJ begged her for a fork so that he could pick the handcuffs’ lock, but Carlotta kept watch on the young lady. The girl said that she couldn’t give him the help he wanted. Carlotta went into the back of the restaurant, and RJ tried his luck again with the girl. She asked him what it was worth to him, and he pulled out all the cash he had in his pocket. She accepted the bribe, and she gave him a safety pin. RJ succeeded in getting free, and he left in a flash. Carlotta returned and asked how RJ got free. The girl said that she didn’t know because she had her back turned.

At Keri’s house, the doorbell rang, and it was Antonio. Keri was very happy to see him, but Antonio wanted to get right to business.  He told her that they had to talk about the woman with whom he had sex in the hotel. Keri said that she didn’t want to talk about it at all, but Antonio persisted.  He said that he never told her who it was. Keri asked if they were still seeing each other. Antonio denied that, and so Keri said that she didn’t care, then. She said that this unknown person wasn’t connected to them in any way, and so she really didn’t want to know anymore about the situation. Antonio said that she would care if she knew who it was. He said that it was her mother. Of course, Keri’s initial reaction was one of shock. Then, when it started to register with her, she told Antonio that he had to leave right then, because she couldn’t deal with this situation. Antonio said that he couldn’t leave yet, because she didn’t know the whole story. Keri asked what else could there possibly be to this story, as it was very grave already. Antonio took a deep breath and told her that the baby had to be discussed. He said that the baby was really his and Liz’s, and not Steve’s.  Keri couldn’t believe what she was hearing. She asked him how he could lie to her all this time and knowingly have let her carry this child.  Antonio said that he just found out himself about the baby, and the only reason he found out was because of a paternity test he had done on his own. He said that Liz lied to everyone about the baby, and that she knew all along that the baby was Antonio’s.  He made it clear that he didn’t know that the baby was his until recently, and that he didn’t know that he slept with her mother until Keri introduced them for the first time, after they slept together.  Keri didn’t seem to understand that, so she thought that they had just both lied to her from the first day. She said that she just couldn’t handle all of this information, and that he had to get out of the house. Antonio said that he couldn’t leave her because he loved her and didn’t want to leave her alone.  Keri said that there was no way that he could love her, since he lied to her for all of these months. She said that she loved him more than she has ever loved anyone, and that she would always imagine when they could have a child of their own, and how much it would be loved. Keri said that if Antonio wouldn’t leave, then she would just have to leave, instead. Antonio refused, but she pushed to the door.  She said that she knew her mother was on her way over to the house, and that she couldn’t look at her in the face right then. She opens up the front door to leave, and Liz was standing right there. Liz said that she didn’t know what Antonio had said. Keri interrupted and said that she knew exactly what he said: that Liz and Antonio slept together, and that the baby was his. Keri ran back into the living room, and she asked them how they could do this to her. Right in the middle of her question, she doubled over in pain. Liz and Antonio rushed over to her side, and asked her what was wrong.  She was clutching her stomach and saying that something was wrong….
