One Life to Live Recap for Tuesday, April 29, 2003

(As we begin today, our local ABC affiliate is having network difficulties. As this episode begins a few minutes late, Natalie and Jessica are inside Llanfair.)

Llanfair

As she talks about Craig being 'found' on the highway, Natalie asks Jessica if she is all right? Natalie tells her they need to look around and find anything incriminating. As they go out the library doors, the main front door opens. Natalie and Jessica watch as Blair tries to quietly sneak into Llanfair. Blair hears something. She picks up a flashlight and looks inside the library doors as Natalie and Jessica hide behind them.

Upstairs, being held at knifepoint, Dorian is scared for her life as Mitch threatens to kill her for putting a whore in his bed. The telephone rings. Dorian pretends not to hear anything. Mitch explodes. She pretends to answer it. Mitch grabs it from her and he hears heavy breathing on the other end, as Dorian proclaims she heard nothing.

Judge Grafton's Chambers

Viki and Cristian see a pool of blood on the floor of Judge Grafton's chambers. She tells Cristian not to touch anything. They decide to call the police. As Viki calls the police, Antonio answers and she tells him about finding blood in the judge's chambers. As he tells her he will be right there, Judge Grafton stumbles into the police station. Antonio calls out to him as Viki listens.

The Palace Bar

Nigel eats cherries at the bar as Asa conducts business on the phone. As Asa finishes his phone call, Renee tells him that she caught Nigel making out with Roxanne Balsam. Asa scoffs at her in amusement.

Llanfair

As Mitch freaks out because of the heavy breathing, he screams to Dorian, "It's him!" She takes the phone and tells him that all she hears is a dial tone. As they continue to argue the doorbell rings. Dorian pretends she doesn't hear it either. He screams at her to stop gas lighting him and answer the door. She literally runs out of the room.

As Dorian gets to the door she yells out to find out who is there. Dorian goes to the secret panel and lets Blair out. Dorian tells her that Mitch had a knife to her throat. Blair tells her they need to leave right now. However, Dorian refuses saying 'it' is working. She tells Blair she knows what they have to do next. Blair takes off her shoes and takes and pair of men's boots out of her bag. They tiptoe upstairs as Natalie and Jessica watch everything.

The Police Station

Judge Grafton has been shot. He is bleeding and he tells Antonio it was Mitch. He tells him that Mitch has threatened him before and this time he is after his family too. Viki runs in. Judge Grafton tells them he is sorry. He tells them briefly about her father's estate and dies as he is trying to tell her what he did.

Llanfair

Blair and Dorian enter Mitch's room. He asks her who was there and what took her so long? She tells him that she searched the entire first floor and no one was there. Meanwhile, Natalie and Jessica follow the secret passage down the stairs and manage to open the secret room.

Upstairs, Mitch tells Dorian to pour him some more champagne and she tells him that he has had enough. Dorian tells him they should leave the house immediately and go to the palace. She tells him she needs the combination to the safe so she can get the Bahdra diamond out of it, so they can leave. Blair starts pounding the shoes on the wall as if they were footsteps. Mitch asks Dorian who else is in the room? She tells him she doesn't hear anything. Mitch screams, "Who's there" as he throws his knife? Dorian screams.

The knife is stuck in the door. Blair is horrified as Mitch goes off on Dorian. Mitch goes over to retrieve his knife and trips over the ottoman. He tells her to get out of his room. They both run. Downstairs, Blair tells her they need to get out of there. Dorian tells her they need to keep it up for a little while. Blair leaves and Dorian tries to open the library safe once again.

Llanview Police Station

Cristian asks Antonio why he doesn't go over and arrest Mitch? Viki tells Cristian that he can't. As they discuss what has happened, Cristian tells them that Mitch is going to get away with it again.

Llanfair

In the secret room, Natalie and Jessica find the box filled with sand. As Natalie rants at Victor's portrait, she throws something at the portrait and knocks it off the wall. Behind Victor's portrait is a doorway. She and Jessica jump up and go to the door. They open it. It leads to a ladder. They begin to climb up the small passageway.

The Palace Restaurant Bar

Renee can't believe Asa is laughing at her. She asks him if he doesn't believe her? She tells him she is warning him that if he doesn't do something he is going to lose Nigel forever.

Llanfair

As Dorian continues to try and break into the safe, she hears Mitch coming. She hides. He makes sure the safe is in tact. The girls follow the secret passage and it leads them to Mitch's room. They realize the room use to be Viki's old room when she was a child and the secret door into the closet is how Victor got in and out of her room. Mitch comes back in. He opens the closet door, as they don't even breathe. He leaves and Jessica tells Natalie they need to get out of there. She crawls back out of the secret door, however Natalie decides to glance back at Mitch as the door shuts behind Jessica, trapping Natalie. Mitch hears something and walks back to the closet. Downstairs, Jessica realizes that Natalie is not with her. She goes out of the secret room and as she prepares to go upstairs to rescue Natalie, Dorian catches her. As they discuss Jessica's arrival and how she came in without Dorian hearing anything, Natalie screams. They run upstairs.

St. Anne's

Blair finds Lindsay. As Lindsay sits and stares out of the window, Blair strokes her hair. Blair calmly talks to Lindsay and tells her that she probably hates Mitch almost as much as she does.

The Cottage

Viki and Cristian arrive back at the house and realize that the girls did not do the dishes. She tells him she will clean up the table and sends him upstairs. She calls Antonio with an idea about Mitch's bail, and Cristian runs downstairs to tell her Natalie is gone. Antonio asks if Jessica is there? They go look. She isn't either!

Llanfair

Dorian and Jessica run upstairs. Mitch is crazy. He is attacking the closet with his knife. Dorian calmly comes in and asks him what he is doing? He is hysterical. She tells him that Jessica has come back to check on him. As he turns to talk to Jessica, Dorian manages to get Natalie out just in time. They hear knocking at the front door. Dorian and Jessica go back downstairs to answer it. At the front door they find Antonio, Viki, Cristian and a police officer.

Antonio arrests Jessica. Mitch screams at them to leave his daughter alone. He screams out, "Jessica!" Dorian ponders the word for a moment. Mitch goes upstairs to call his lawyer, leaving the others behind. They all leave. Dorian returns to her safe cracking and figures out that the combination is Jessica spelled backwards. It opens. She grabs the diamond and caresses it fondly.

The Cottage House

As Natalie sneaks back in, Viki and Cristian turn the lights on. Viki chastises her, but is too tire to get into with her. She goes off to bed. Cristian berates Natalie for what she and Jessica did. Natalie asks where Jessica is and he tells her she is in a safe place.

Llanview Police Department

Antonio locks Jessica into a jail cell. She tells him he cannot do this. He tells her it is for her own good. He walks away.

St. Anne's

Lindsay looks out of the window. She is almost catatonic.

Llanfair

Mitch drags Dorian back into the library. He tells her the diamond is missing. He holds her at knifepoint. He tells her she has until the count of ten to return it or he is going to kill her. He starts counting and he stops as he hears the heavy breathing again. . .
