One Life to Live Recap for Monday, October 28, 2002

Al provoked Cristian by saying that Natalie came onto him and that Al had to do everything in his power to keep her at arms distance.  He started calling her horrible names, and Cristian got angrier.  Finally, Al got to the point where he angered Cristian so much that Cristian hit him.  Al was actually pleased by this in some sick sense, because he knew that Cris must still have strong feelings for Natalie.  He pointed this fact out to Cristian, who covered by saying that he was not raised to ever say anything like that about any girl, and that he didn’t think anyone else should say those kinds of things either.  Al knew better, but after Cristian totally lost his cool and started to attack him, Seth and Chad threw him out before Cristian could do any more harm. Chad followed Al out, while Seth and Cristian talked.  Seth said that he knew that Cristian didn’t want to talk about the situation with Natalie in the past, but he thought that this might be a good time to talk about it now.  Cristian still hesitated to say anything, and so Seth let him know that Natalie had talked to him already, and that he knew basically what was going on between them. Cristian opened up to Seth a bit, and confirmed Natalie’s story. He said that he didn’t have a choice, though, since Jen was pregnant and he had to marry her.  He said that he was just glad that Jen didn’t know about Natalie, and he was confident that she would never find out.  Cristian received a call from Jen’s nosey friend, saying that he was needed right away at Llanfair, so he left the gym immediately.

Roxy and Max returned home after Max bailed Roxy out of jail. She was very surprised that he decided to do this kind deed, especially after he was so rude to her at the jail cell. She kept pressing him that there must be divorce papers waiting for her, but he said that wasn’t going to happen. He said he bailed her out just to do it, and not with any other strings attached. Max admitted that the reason he did such a nice thing for her was because she turned over those tapes of Luna and did it with an unselfish heart.  Roxy tried to thank him by kissing him, but he pushed her away, saying that it wasn’t necessary.  Roxy said that if Max wanted to do something really nice for her, she was hoping that he would go to Viki and Jessica and see if they would drop the charges.  Max pushed off that idea because he told her that he already tried taking that route, and he was shut down. Al came home after the fight, and Max asked him what happened. Al said that he got in a little fight, but that it was ok, because he found out some very interesting information in the process.  Al asked Max what Roxy was doing out of jail, and Max explained that he bailed her out because of the tapes of Luna. Al understood, and left it alone.  He said that he needed to leave, and told Max that he was leaving them alone together. Max said that wasn’t necessary, but Al left anyway. Roxy took that opportunity to jump all over Max and try to seduce him.

Mitch looked through Natalie’s wallet in the sanctuary of the church, and touched her ID card as if he was looking at and remembering a picture of an old girlfriend. He called Natalie to tell her that she left her wallet behind, and that they would have to meet in order for him to return it to her. He also repeated what he said to her earlier about her being very happy very soon. After hanging up the phone, he reclined back and put his hands behind his head, like he was about to accomplish something fantastic. Then, he heard footsteps, as the father was about to enter the sanctuary. He hurried to sit up, and pretended as if he was kneeling at the altar. The priest approached him and asked him if he was a member of the church. Mitch (Michael) asked why he wanted to know, if only members were allowed to kneel at the altar.  The priest said no, that everyone was always welcome to approach the altar.  Mitch made some little comment that made the priest think that he was ordained, but after the priest asked, Mitch said that he was never ordained, but that he was everything but.  He said that he led quite a following in the past, and that he was a counsel for a lot of people. The Priest asked what he had been doing since then, and Mitch just replied that he was back now, and ready to start again. Viki, and Bo tried to decipher what Allison meant when she said, “ask Mitch” over and over again.  Bo said that he felt badly for Allison because she was hanging onto reality by a very weak string.  Bo reiterated that Mitch was dead, so there was no way that they could ask him anything at all. Bo asked Viki if there was anything that she could recall about Mitch Lawrence that might give them a clue as to what Allison was referring.  Viki began remembering everything that took place prior to her giving birth to her babies. She told Bo about how Mitch was in a cult, and that he put young ladies in a trance so that they would do whatever he would say, and so that they were falling all over him. Allison was a part of this, and she was in Mitch’s spell, too.  Viki wondered if Mitch hypnotized Allison to switch the twins, and if so, why?  Bo asked Viki what connection that she had with Mitch Lawrence, and Viki explained how she never fell for Mitch’s scheme, and she also succeeded in getting her sister out of the cult before it was too late. Mitch always hated her for that.  One of the nuns returned, and Viki thanked her for letting her go in to see Allison. Viki asked if she could make a donation to their cause, but the nun said that all donations go to another church, and she sent her there instead.  Viki called, and the priest said that he would be in the sanctuary.  When she arrived, she saw the back of a man sitting in a pew in the sanctuary, and she automatically assumed it was the priest.  She made her presence known, and asked if the priest remembered that she called.  Of course, it really wasn’t the priest sitting there… it was Mitch Lawrence, who realized that it was Viki talking to him!

Blair stood by Jack’s door while Todd talked to Jack.  Blair listened as Todd apologized to Jack for everything that he did to him.  Todd explained to Jack that he was totally sorry, and that he was the one who messed up  (A big deal for Todd, here- admitting that it was HIS fault). This touched Blair, even though Todd was seeing Jack without permission. She entered the room and she startled Todd.  He quickly said that he wasn’t trying to kidnap their son, but that he just wanted to see him on his birthday.  Blair said that she knew that, and that she understood.  Todd opened up his heart to Blair and said that he was very sorry about everything that happened, and that he was hoping that they could work things out.  Blair asked him what he meant by working things out, and he said that he wanted to see the kids. He asked if maybe he could see them on weekends or holidays, or something.  Blair actually looked as if she was touched by his gesture of honesty, but she said that he would never be able to see his kids again.  Todd tried to ask Blair if she would be able to forgive him for everything, and she said that she wouldn’t be able to do that.  She said that she could see that he loved his kids very much, but that he had a bad habit of hurting those that he loved, so she just couldn’t allow him to continue seeing his children ever. She left the room, and Todd thought that she just left to get some air and think things over, but instead she returned with two policemen (who arrived in a remarkable amount of time) to have Todd arrested for violating his restraining order!

Jen confronted Natalie in front of everyone at the shower, and asked her if she was in love with Cristian.  Natalie looked around at everyone, all of whom were silent with shock at how this bridal shower was turning out. Natalie asked if she and Jen could go somewhere a bit more private, but Jen said that she wanted to know right there.  Natalie admitted that she was in love with Cris, but that he didn’t reciprocate those feelings.  Jen put on this wonderful show about how upset she was, and Lindsay played along, comforting her daughter.  Jen went out the back to the porch, and Natalie followed her.  Jen said that she couldn’t believe it, and that she couldn’t understand why her friend would do such a thing to her.  Natalie explained that she never meant for it to happen, and that she was a terrible friend.  Jen brought up how Natalie was her maid of honor, and how she was going to be a part of this wedding, and Natalie tried to explain that she never wanted to do it, but that she didn’t want to tell Jen that because she didn’t want to upset her at all. Jen asked if Cris knew about this, and Natalie said that she told him that she loved him, but that he said that it was Jen he loved and not she.  Jen went back inside and told her mother that she had Natalie right where she wanted her.  She went back outside, and told Natalie that she had “thought things over,” and that she felt that the only solution was for Natalie to leave town for good.  Jen explained that she would always be very insecure about Natalie, and always looking over her shoulder, when she should be focusing on her husband and baby.  Natalie said that she couldn’t leave town, because this was her home.  Jen said ok quickly and left the porch again. She came back out a few minutes later, and said that she had decided that she and Cristian were leaving town instead. Natalie thought that this idea was preposterous, since his entire family was there in Llanview, but Jen said that this was the only way. Cristian interrupted, and Jen said that she had very bad news.  Natalie jumped in and said that she was leaving Llanview for good!!!
