One Life to Live Recap for Monday, October 21, 2002

Much ado. . .

NOTE: Today’s recap is not complete because the West Coast broadcast was pre-empted by a law enforcement press conference regarding the D.C. area sniper. Sorry folks, this is as much as I got!

Bo arrives at Llanfair to give Viki, Jessica and Natalie the results of the DNA tests.  He shocks all three with the announcement that both Jess and Natalie are Viki’s biological daughters!  Stunned, Viki wonders how she could have had twins without knowing it.  Bo points out that Nikki Smith knew, and that this must have been her big “secret.” and what she meant when she told Suzanne in Switzerland, “Viki is more of a mother than she knows.”

Jessica and Viki are overwhelmed with joy that they are, in fact, real mother and daughter.  Natalie looks pensive as Jess and Viki hug, and Viki quickly reassures her that she is equally thrilled that Natalie, too, is her daughter.  Bo and the three women are mystified as to how could this happen.  Bo vows to investigate. 

At the Country Club, Lindsey challenges Troy to tell Nora and everyone else about his wife.  Troy’s mouth drops open even farther when Lindsey threatens to tell everyone herself.  Troy takes a moment to compose himself and then plays dumb. 

Lindsey feigns hurt and confusion when she says “What about my sister?  Didn’t she mean anything to you?”  Sam interjects that Colin, not Troy had been married to Lainie. 

Lindsey acts confused and embarrassed and Nora demands to know what Lindsey is up to.  Lindsey explains how understandable her confusion is given that Troy himself had once pretended to be Colin to coerce a confession out of Lindsey.

Troy suggests that they drop it and forget the past.  Lindsey agrees to do that, “for now.”  And she retreats to the foyer to pay off the student whose “sociology paper” had triggered the entire exchange.  As the student walks away, Sam, not buying Lindsey’s confused act, confronts Lindsey and demands to know what she’s doing.

Rae/Gretel storms the Buchanan estate hollering for Nigel.  When he shows, Rae/Gretel grabs him by the lapels and begs him to help her win back Viki’s friendship and forgiveness.

Jen, Al and Cristian are at the hospital when Cristian confirms Jen’s pregnancy by examining the test results in Jen’s file.  Al asks for Jen’s due date and Cristian demands to know why Al wants to know.  Jen desperately tries to conceal her panic as Al bluffs his way through by reassuring Cristian that he’s only curious because he still cares for Jen and knowing when she’s due will make the pregnancy “more real” for him. 

Jen tells Cristian her due date is none of Al’s business, but Cristian thinks Al should know to help him get over Jen.  He grabs the file away from Jen and reads aloud that Jen is in her second trimester.  Jen is shocked, and Al calls her on it.  She sidesteps Al’s challenge by informing him that she was not shocked, just relieved because most miscarriages happen during the first trimester.
