One Life to Live Recap for Wednesday, November 27, 2002

Blair and Todd are in his master bedroom at the penthouse trying to carry on a civil conversation. Blair thanked Todd for letting her stay at the penthouse, since that would be the last place that anyone would look for her. She also thanked him for moving out of his bedroom so that she could stay there instead of having to live in one of the less secure rooms. Todd said that was crazy, and that he wasn’t planning on moving out of the bedroom anytime soon. Blair said that was fine, that she would go and stay in one of the guest rooms. Todd said that wasn’t a good idea, since the maid would notice that someone else was staying at the penthouse and spread the rumor among all of her friends. Blair questioned the idea that Todd had a maid at the penthouse, but Todd skirted the issue. He said that there was not another way to deal with this situation but to share the main bedroom. Blair was flabbergasted at the idea and said that there was no way that they would be able to share a room. Starr came in the bedroom only to overhear that they would be sharing a bedroom, and she got very excited. Blair was quick to tell her otherwise, since she didn’t want Starr to get the wrong idea. Todd chipped in and said that they would be sleeping in separate beds, so there wasn’t any reason to think that there would be anything going on between the two of them. Blair sent Starr off to bed after explaining that she and Todd were only going to stay in the same bedroom in order to make things seem as normal as possible and not to stir up any suspicions. She made it very clear to Starr that there was no hope of reconciliation between she and Todd. After Starr left, Blair questioned Todd about the separate beds, and Todd said that he had already thought of that. He retrieved a blow-up air mattress and threw it in her direction and told her to start blowing. Later, Blair was sleeping on the little blow-up mattress, and Todd got off of the bed and put a blanket over her.

Rae/Gretel was enjoying a drink alone at the Palace. Max approached her and told her that she looked very nice that day. Rae wanted to know what Max wanted, since he had never been nice to her. Nigel came up to the two of them and Rae was almost relieved to see him. She took the interruption as an opportunity to leave the bar. Nigel explained that Asa told him to follow Max and to make sure that he was making good on his end of the deal to get rid of Rae. Max noticed that Rae softened when Nigel was around, and he encouraged Nigel to get closer to her. Max recalled that he agreed to get Rae away from Asa, but he realized that he never said that he would have to be the one to separate them. He decided that Nigel would be a good person to temp Rae and to ultimately finish the marriage. Nigel objected to the entire idea.

Bo and Gabrielle were sharing a nice dinner at the Palace. Bo spoke of how he liked the new Gabrielle, and how much she changed from the past year. Gabrielle agreed that she had changed a lot, and that it was definitely for the better. Bo said that he was a bit afraid that she might get bored with her new life, and him, and that she would revert back to her old ways. Gabrielle said that was not possible, because she was so happy where she was with him. Bo received a phone call (police business) and he had to leave. Renee approached Gabrielle and poured her a cup of coffee. Gabrielle said that she was surprised to see Renee pouring a cup of coffee in her cup, because not too long ago, Renee would be pouring the coffee on her head. Renee said that she has seen how much Gabrielle means to Bo, and that if someone means that much to Bo, it must be someone who deserves a second chance. Gabrielle said that she appreciated it. Renee left the table and ran into Rae, who said she overheard her conversation, and was hoping to have another chance as well. Renee said that there was no way that she would give Rae another chance, after everything that she did. Disappointed, Rae left Renee alone.

Cristian continued to try and tell Jen that it is OVER between the two of them. [is anyone else getting sick of this whole thing?] Jen still seemed to find ways to stall Cristian. She pretended to faint as he was telling her that there was going to be no marriage. As she "recovered," Carlotta and Keri came over with food and flowers. Cristian said that it was not a good time, but Jen encouraged them to stay. Antonio came in a few minutes later, and Cristian went outside with him to talk. Antonio apologized for being late, and that he was hoping to have headed off Carlotta and Keri before they made it into the apartment. Cris said that he was happy that they stopped by, but he definitely wanted them to leave. He said that even if they were there for a few minutes, they would ultimately leave, and he would have the chance to tell Jen that it was over and that he wanted to be with Natalie. Carlotta came out at that point, and said that he would be making the biggest mistake of his life. Antonio went back inside so that they could talk. Inside, Keri and Antonio talked while Jen was splashing water on her face. Keri said that she didn’t even want to take off her coat because she felt so bad that she was starting to show. She didn’t want to "show off" in front of Jen, since Jen just lost her baby. Jen overheard this, and decided that she would use this as further ammunition. Meanwhile, outside of the loft, Cristian said that he was not going to keep this up any longer, and that he would not live a lie. Carlotta said that she understood that, but that she thought that Jen had been through enough heartache for a little while, and she was concerned if Jen could handle any more stress. Cristian said that he talked to Dr. Conklin and that she said that stress wasn’t the cause of the miscarriage, and that any further stress wouldn’t affect her. Carlotta knew that Cris had to tell Jen the truth, and so they both went back inside. Antonio said that they were all leaving, but Jen said that she wanted them to stay. Even Carlotta agreed that they all needed to leave and give Jen and Cristian some time alone. Cristian was relieved for everyone to leave because he was past ready to tell Jen that it was over. Jen pretended to be upset after Cristian shut the door. Cris asked her what was wrong, and she said that she was so upset about seeing Keri and that she was starting to show. Jen threw a fit about the situation and said that she wanted to go to bed and not deal with anything else. Cristian said that they had to talk, but Jen said that if she could just go to bed right then, she promised that she would talk to him the next morning. Cris agreed, and went into the other room. Jen got up and went to put the phone back on the hook. She called Marcie and told her that she needed help with a plan that she was going to carry out the next day in order to further stall Cristian….

Viki told Seth that the reason Jessica had to leave town was because Mitch Lawrence was Jessica’s father. Jessica walked in the room, but only heard part of the conversation. She heard Viki say that Seth couldn’t tell Jessica this secret. Jess wondered to what secret she was referring, and Seth covered by saying that Seth couldn’t tell Jess where they were going. Jess believed this, and she went upstairs to finish packing. Viki thanked Seth for covering, but Seth said he had a few questions. For starters, he wanted to know if it was definite that Mitch was Jess’s father. Viki said that she wasn’t prepared to answer his questions, but that he was just going to have to trust her with her decision to make Jess leave town. Seth said that he understood, and asked if Natalie was in any danger. Viki said that Natalie could be in a danger far worse than Jessica. Jessica returned back downstairs with her belongings all ready to go. Viki instructed Seth and Jessica that they couldn’t use credit cards at all. Viki handed Jess a wad of money and also gave her a number to call. She instructed that Jess should only call from her cell phone, and she should only call that number of Viki’s. Viki and Jessica gave a tearful goodbye to one another, and Viki reassured Jessica that she and Clint loved her very much.

Meanwhile, Natalie was trying to get out of her pesky little marriage to "Michael Lazarus" so that she and Cristian could ride off into the sunset and live happily ever after (Sarcasm noted, here.). Natalie tried to leave after saying that she was going to get an annulment, but Mitch grabbed her, slammed the door, and told her that she wasn’t going anywhere! Natalie was shocked by his actions, and was starting to get angry and scared. She braved her way by saying that she didn’t know who he thought he was, but he knew that she was in love with someone else. Michael just laughed and told her that she wasn’t going to get a divorce, and that their marriage was stated in the eyes of God. Natalie said that they could get an annulment since they never had their "wedding night." Mitch acknowledged that they didn’t make love, but that one would never know what might happen. Natalie was really freaked out at this point, and she said again that she was getting a divorce immediately. Mitch laughed at her and said, "you don’t know who I am, do you?" Natalie said that she did know that he was Michael Lazarus. Mitch said that wasn’t true, and that Natalie’s mother knew exactly who he was, and that she should ask her. Natalie left to find Viki. Viki was phoning Natalie right after Jess left so that she could find her and get her away from Mitch Lawrence. Natalie walked in the door right when Viki was leaving a message, and Viki put down the phone and said how happy she was to see Natalie. Natalie said that she wanted to know who Michael Lazarus really was. Viki was taken aback by this, since Mitch had seemed to not want Natalie to know his true identity. Viki took a deep breath and explained that she had known this man long before Natalie ever met him. Natalie had no idea what she was saying, but Viki continued. She said that this guy was definitely NO man of God, and that he was someone who had supposedly died a long time ago. Viki came out and stated that the man that Natalie had married was really (the devil incarnate) Mitch Lawrence. Natalie was totally shocked, as she started to put together the pieces of what exactly was going on. She realized that the man she married is the man who was responsible for kidnapping her and condemning her to a life with Roxanne.

In some diner somewhere, Jess was thanking Seth for dropping everything in order to be with her. Seth said that she was his life, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. At that same point in time, Mitch was still at his "house" (or whatever it is in which he lurks), and he pulled out a black address/phone book of Natalie’s and found Jess’s cell phone number, and sent a text message to Jessica. At the diner, Jessica’s phone rang, and Seth told her not to pick it up. She said she wouldn’t have to pick it up because it was a text message. Jess pulled up the message, and it said, "It was nice meeting you the other day. I’m sure we’ll see each other again soon." ~M. Lawrence
