One Life to Live Recap for Wednesday, November 13, 2002

Jessica expressed her concern about Natalie to Viki. Viki said that she didn’t realize how bad things were. Jessica said that she had held off from telling Viki these things because Jess said that she knew that Viki was going through a lot of things, and that she didn’t need more stress in her life. Viki said that Ben would have wanted her to continue to care and deal with her daughters. Jessica mentioned that it was Viki and Ben’s anniversary. Viki said that she had been thinking about that quite a bit, but that she was dealing with it. Jessica also acknowledged that Viki was spending a lot of time trying to crack the code of Mitch Lawrence. Viki said that that may be true, but she still always had time for her daughters. Jess reaffirmed Viki’s thought that she should go find Natalie. Jen and Cristian were going through their wedding ceremony for the 3rd time, and Al barges in again, with the intent of spilling the beans. After yelling for the ceremony to stop, all eyes are on Al. Jen tells him to shut up, and Cristian asked her if she knew what he was going to say. She said that she did, and that it was about the baby. She said that he knew how important the baby was, and that he would never do anything to hurt it. Al re-evaluated the situation, and he realized for the first time that he had to put the life of that child before his. If he told everyone that he was the father, he would risk the chance that Jen would be true to her word and have an abortion. Al wasn’t willing to take that chance. He said that he was sorry for the interruption, and left. Jen tried to get Cris focused back on the wedding, but Cristian said that he needed to go after Al. Al was on his way out of the club, but he ran into Viki, who could easily tell that he was upset. She asked him if he was ok, but he didn’t answer. Cristian was a few steps behind him, and he also ran into Viki. Viki asked him what was going on with Al, as he had just left looking very upset. Cristian explained that Al just tried to break up the wedding, and that they were in the middle of the ceremony at that moment. Viki said that she was sorry that it was not going so well. She asked Cris if he knew where Natalie was, and he said that she had just missed Natalie. He said that Natalie came and tried to stop the wedding, but then ended up giving her blessing. Viki said that may be the case, but she was still worried about her. Cristian said that he was definitely worried too, and that he loved her so much. Viki realized that he was telling the truth, and she appreciated the heartache that he was going through at that time. She said that she had to leave to find Natalie, and Cris requested that she let him know if Natalie was ok or not, since he cares for her. She said that was fine. Jen and Lindsay came into the room. Viki and Lindsay had a few words, including Viki telling Lindsay that she was better off staying in prison…. Viki left, and everyone else returned to the ceremony. Rev. Carpenter said that it would be best if they started at the vows, since they had heard the other stuff 3 times already. Jen requested to say her own vows, and said things about how Cris will make a wonderful husband and father, and that she knew that he loved her with his whole heart. She also threw in there that she trusted him more than anyone else, and she knew that he would never fail him. When it was Cris’s turn, he said that he didn’t have anything prepared. Jen said that was ok, and she told him to speak directly from the heart. (what a joke). He said that he vowed to be a wonderful husband and father to "their" baby, and he pledged his life to her. Andrew was able to ask Cris the "I do" question, which Cris affirmed.

Just as Jen was going to respond with her "I do," she gasped and bent over in pain….

Al stopped over at Llanfair in order to see Jessica. Jess was surprised to see him, but Al said that he just needed to see a friendly face. He was visibly upset, as Jess apologized for telling him about the wedding. Al said that it didn’t matter anymore, that he just came from the wedding. Jess was horrified to hear this, and asked him what happened. Al said that he was the king of making a fool of himself, so why should this be any different? He told Jess that she didn’t have to worry: he didn’t make too big of a spectacle of himself. He said that he only stopped the wedding momentarily, and that they resumed after he left. Jess was relieved to hear that. She told him that maybe it was time for him to get over Jen. Al paused, and then admitted that he realized that Jen was not the right girl for him. Jess wondered why he came to this conclusion all of the sudden, but when she asked him about it, Al said that she just didn’t know the whole story. There was a baby’s cry from the other room, and Al’s curiosity got the best of him. He asked who the baby was, and Jess told him that his cousin Jack was visiting. Al requested to see him, and Jess said yes. Al held the baby, and reflected on the fact that a baby’s life is much more important than divulging any secret.

Natalie and Mitch were kissing at the quarry. Mitch pulled away, saying this wasn’t the right thing to do. Natalie said that she didn’t understand because she thought that Mitch wanted her to forget all about Cristian. She thought that this was the perfect way to go about doing that. Natalie said that she started to believe that stuff that Mitch was selling her about her being happy and getting everything she deserved. Mitch said that was all true, but that it wasn’t going to happen by their kissing (At this point he pointedly took a handkerchief and wiped off his mouth in the weirdest way… Ew.). Natalie said that she had tried to let Cristian go, but that she loved him. She said that it wasn’t fair that she loved someone so much, and he loved her in return, but that he was marrying someone else. Mitch said it was time to drop her feelings altogether for Cristian, at that moment. Natalie was silent for a minute, and then she pulled out the necklace that Cristian gave her. She told Mitch that this was the necklace that Cris gave her, and that she kept it with her at all times. She said that she was giving it up, and placed it on the rocks behind her. Mitch was satisfied, and told her that she was ready to receive all of the goodness and happiness that was in store for her. He held out his hand, she grabbed it, and they left together. Later, we see them sitting in a plane together, and Natalie is asking him excitedly where they are going!

Liz and RJ were having some coffee and discussing the baby, Keri, and their new relationship to one another. RJ said that he was ok with the fact that Keri was going to be moving out of his apartment and into the house with Liz. Liz said that she didn’t buy his statement, but RJ seemed sincere. He said that he was still thinking about the way things could have been, had he known about Keri from the beginning. He asked Liz if she would have told him about the baby if he hadn’t been in prison when she was pregnant, and she said yes, she would have told him. RJ acknowledged his faults to himself, and vowed that he would do everything he could to be there for her daughter now. Hank came over and said hello. Liz was happy to see her friend, but RJ barely acted cordial to him. Hank asked how things were going with the move, and RJ jumped out of his seat in surprise. He complained that he couldn’t understand how Hank found out about the move before he did. He expressed his jealousy of Hank, and how Hank found out about everything in Keri’s life before RJ did. RJ got in Hank’s face and asked him if there was anything else that he knew that RJ didn’t know. Hank flashed back to Liz telling him that Antonio was the father of the baby that Keri is carrying. RJ pressured Hank to answer him, and Hank ended up saying that there wasn’t anything at all that he knew and RJ didn’t. RJ notices a slight tension between Liz and Hank, but doesn’t say anything. Liz tries to smooth things over. RJ was satisfied with this, and left. Liz reaffirmed Hank’s decision to keep quiet about her secret. Hank said that he wasn’t the one about whom she had to worry; there was someone out there who could do a lot more damage!

Todd and Cassie were talking when Todd received a phone call from the police in another town, where Blair was being held. The police said that Todd was the person to contact in case of an emergency. Todd asked what on earth was wrong, and the officer said that Blair witnessed a shooting, and that she was not responsive at that time. Todd hung up the phone and briefed Cassie on the situation at hand. Todd was very worried, as was Cassie, and so they both ran immediately to the police station. Meanwhile, Blair was sitting in a room at the police station. She was barely responsive, babbling about all sorts of things. The officers tried to get her to calm down so that they could show her a bunch of mug shots, hoping that she might be able to ID the killer. They warned Blair that if she didn’t think hard about who it was that she saw kill Suzanne, that person could get her, too. Apparently there is some link between the shooter and a bigger mob group, and the police would need some help in order to infiltrate this group. Blair came out of her daze a little bit, and agreed to look at some of the mug shots. As she was flipping through the pictures, she immediately recognized the killer. At that point, she fell back into her psychosis, and screamed. Todd and Cassie arrived at the station, and they heard Blair’s cry. Todd wouldn’t take no for an answer, and he entered the interrogation room anyway. There, he went to Blair and asked her if she was ok. She wasn’t responsive to his questions, but started babbling again about going to see a funny movie and the like, making no sense whatsoever.
