I have some good news, and some bad news, folks!
The bad news is, I had a cable outage and missed half of today's episode. The good news is, I got to se the best half! So, to the best of my ability, I'll recap what I saw.
Hey, I've delivered up until now, so be very nice!!
LOONVIEW TEEN BEAT: UNSOLVED MYSTERIES!!
Al confronts Marcie in her room, and tries to extort some information about Jen's pregnancy. Well, Marcie becomes the neurotic Jen Defender and tells Al to buzz off, she ain't telling him nothing after the way he took advantage of poor, beautiful, popular Jen.
(Just out of curiosity, where the heck did the writers find this Nervous Nellie?)
Al challenges her slip of the tongue, and asks her why she thinks he took advantage of Jen? Did Jen tell Marcie about them sleeping together? Well, since, this scene took place before a commercial, Marcie dons a very terrified look, but of course, she doesn't tell Al anything.
Instead, she covers up her slip by telling Al that she was referring to his paralysis scam and the way he tried to trick her into marrying him. They argue for a while, and then Al screams out, "MARCIE! Your dress!" as a means of distraction.
Marcie looks away, and Al swipes the key to Marcie's room. Later, Al returns to the room and logs on to Marcie's computer...
(And, bite my tongue, I am rooting for him!!)
UNSOLVED MYSTERIES: CHAPTER TWO:
As Viki continues in her quest to get answers from the remains of a dead man's lair, Todd impatiently pounds on her door. She lets him in, and Todd spots all of the papers sprawled out across Viki's table. He makes a Todd quip about them, and he and Viki slip into a conversation about Viki's mission. She tells Todd about Mitch, explaining the sick puppy as completely and as briefly as possible, then mentions that Peter Manning's name came up on Mitch's list of cult disciples.
Todd refuses to believe that at first, saying that the only religion Peter Manning ever had was "raising his cane" to Todd. Viki tells him that there was nothing religious about Mitch, either. He was a con artist who convinced his "multitude" that they had to give all of their money to God through him. He called himself "The Messenger", Viki says. A very strange, disturbed look falls across Todd's face, and he quickly asks Viki..
"You mean, Heed the Messenger'?"
Viki immediately asks Todd to help her with anything he can remember. Todd recalls that his adoptive father had invested all of his money into a man that used to tell Peter to "heed the Messenger". Well, he continues, after awhile Peter started to realize that he's lost all of his life savings to the now very missing "messenger", and he became very angry.
"And you know what happened when Peter got angry," Todd says to Viki. Viki's heart breaks for her little brother and she says that she's very sorry for what Todd experienced at Peter's hands. Todd, naturally, dismisses the pity and turns the conversation back to Viki. Where is this Mitch guy?
"He's dead," Viki replies, "He died months before the girls were born."
"Then I don't understand something," Todd says, "If that's true...how could have had ANYTHING to do with taking any of them?"
Viki sadly and angrily replies to her brother,
"That's exactly what I need to find out."
CHAPTER THREE:
The Superbroom Saga, folks! Yes, there HAD to be one of those in there to RUIN our hour!! Missing the first half of this one was the one thing about my cable outage that I actually appreciated!
Troy and Looney Goon are going at it at the art gallery. Troy makes an attempt at blackmail, telling Lindsay that she'd better keep her mouth shut about Joanna if she doesn't want him to spill the beans to Jen about how she got a drug from him to make Jen think she was pregnant; or if she doesn't want him to spill the beans about Lindsay altering Jen's home pregnancy test to falsify a positive result.
Well, Loonsey's gaze lands past Troy's shoulder and on Jen, who heard everything that was said. Jen doesn't give Troy the satisfaction of turning against her mom, and he leaves, more panicked than ever. Looney follows him to the elevator, reinstating her threat to tell Nora about how he killed his wife, just as soon as the timing is right.
She heads back inside and asks Jen if she really meant what she said about forgiving her for altering the pregnancy test results. Jen takes a deep breath as a means of controlling her anger with the discovery, then she pastes on that plastic psycho smile and tells her mom that she had always suspected that her mother was behind that fiasco. But..as it turned out, Lindsay got what she wanted..Jen is pregnant with Al's baby. The main thing they need to focus on is her wedding to Cris, which, by the way, is today.
Loonsey is blown away! Today?! Yes, Jen says, Natalie isn't leaving town, so she forced Cris to make a move.
UNSOLVED MYSTERIES: CHAPTER 3A:
Troy races back to his loft after his attempt at blackmail backfired. He runs smack into Emily, who tells him that she was just inside with Nora, and Lindsay hasn't told her anything about Joanna. Troy tells Em that Lindsay will, and probably soon. That doesn't give much time.
"Time for what?" Emily asks, apprehensively.
"Time to tell her myself." Emily assures Troy that Nora will understand. Troy says that she won't, but he is determined to be the one who fills Nora in about the details, even if he's going to lose her in the process.
He heads back inside, and Nora greets him happily. She notices the sad look on his face and is worried. She apologizes for her earlier behavior. She further apologizes for playing the jealous wife act. Troy tells her that he knows how dangerous an emotion jealousy can be. As a matter of fact, he has something he wants to tell her. Something that will explain how he knows that jealousy can even kill!
SPIRITUAL CONNECTIONS!
Oh MAN, people! Mitch has dug his claws into Natalie! He is preying on her grief and pain and if I'm not mistaken...he is working on implanting that hypnosis thing in her mind.
He somehow manages to get Nat into a position where he is giving her a temple massage, willing her to let her troubles go. (EWW, sick!) The way he was...oh, ick!
ANYWAY, a few moments later, Natalie breaks away and says that she notices that he wants a lot of good things for her. What does he want for himself? Mitch turns the question back on her. What does she thik he should want?
For starters, poor Nat says, he could use some furniture. Mitch chuckles, and tells her something like, a man's life doesn't rely solely on his possessions. Nat chuckles back, and says that doesn't mean he can't get a few cool things. She heads to leave, and Mitch vows her to secrecy about hte location of his residence. Unsuspecting of his reasons behind that request, she agrees.
Later, she is in a department store, asking a salesman to show her a nice man's coat. Something Italian, maybe? The salesman slips away, and she hears two voices talking behind her.
A voice says, "We'd better hurry up and get you to the country club before you are late for your own wedding!"
She turns around and sees the Brothers Vega, dressed in tuxedos. Her heart breaks, and she dares to ask Cris:
