One Life to Live Recap for Friday, March 15, 2002

Natalie, Al, Jess, Seth, Chad, Chad’s sister

Natalie is at the bar with Al and she is telling him her latest scheme.  She tells him she wants him to steal Seth’s jacket and scarf.  Al thinks it’s ridiculous, but Natalie says it’s easy because she knows the private little room where Seth always goes to study and it should be no problem for Al to steal the jacket and scarf when Seth takes a break.  Al refuses to do it, but of course, Natalie convinces him by telling him that she will tell Jen he can walk.  She tells him that all he has to do is this one last thing and then he’ll get Jen to marry him.

Seth is in the room at the library working on his paper at the computer when Jess comes by and gives him some papers he left at the bar.  She promises not to distract him but he’s worried about his paper so she reads a bit of it and says it’s good.  She leaves so he can finish it and all of a sudden the computer freezes up.  He is very frustrated but decides to go get coffee and deal with the computer when he gets back.  While he’s gone, Al sneaks in, hides his wheelchair, goes into the room and takes Seth’s jacket and scarf.  No one sees him do it.

Back at the Break Bar, Chad is getting ready to show his teenaged sister, Katie, around the university and Natalie is going to join them.  Katie is a bratty teenager who only wants a beer and some fun, which her brother refuses.  He is very protective of her because he knows what she’s like.  Natalie and Katie wait outside the bar for Chad when Al comes along wearing Seth’s scarf and jacket…and walking perfectly.  Natalie leaves them together to talk and says she’s going inside to sneak a beer for Katie.  Katie and Al start to talk and she tells him she’d like some of his beer.  She asks him if he has a girlfriend and he tells her that he does, but he’s only in it for the money.  He says his girlfriend is rich and he’s getting tired of her and now has a new way to make money.  He shows her a wad of cash and she asks where he got it.  He tells her he’s in charge of depositing the money from work and implies that he took some.  She asks him when he’s going to break up with his girlfriend and he says he hopes she’s around when he does.  She tells him her name and he says he is Seth Anderson.  He leaves and gives her his bottle of beer.  Katie goes back inside and Chad asks where she’s been.  She says she was outside talking to this guy….named Seth Anderson.  Natalie is thrilled her plan is working.

Al goes back to the university to return Seth’s jacket and scarf and Seth isn’t in the room so he puts the jacket and scarf back…but then Cristian comes looking for Seth and Al has to hide behind a wall of books so Cristian doesn’t see him…and he’s not in the wheelchair.

Jen and Cris

Cris is trying to talk to the girl at school, but is constantly looking over at Jen who is sitting in a chair close by.  The girl finally realizes what’s going on and tells Cris that he’s a nice guy, but he’s still in love with Jen and everyone knows it.  He apologizes and she tells him that when he’s over Jen, to give her a call and they’ll have coffee.

Cris gets ready to leave and Jen catches up with him.  They talk about Cris overhearing that she was considering marrying Al and she says she doesn’t know what to do.  He says he can’t believe she didn’t say no and she tells him she was so shocked she didn’t know what to say.  She doesn’t believe Al will be in the wheelchair forever and Cris asks her what she’ll do if he is…will she marry him?  She doesn’t answer and then says she feels like she can’t leave Al.

In Lindsay’s Compactor Room

Lindsay is still trying to lie her way out of being arrested.  Bo has the handcuffs on her and she begs Sam to tell Bo the truth…that Nora and Troy set her up…that they’ve been seeing each other behind their partners’ backs for months and that Troy actually kidnapped her.  Sam just stares and tells Bo to make sure the cuffs are tight enough.  Lindsay asks Bo what evidence he has to arrest her.  She keeps saying that Troy was the one who lured her to the funhouse and kept her there…but Bo reminds her that Troy was chained to the wheel when Sam found him.  Troy plays a bit of the taped confession and Lindsay says he forced her into saying those things.  She turns and glares at Nora, saying that Nora is probably so happy now that she’s gotten her dream.

Everyone leaves for the police station except for Sam and Nora.  Nora is shocked that Sam found Troy and saved his life.  She asks how he knew where to find Troy and he says that Starr told him he was there.  She couldn’t believe he went in when there was such a horrible fire and Sam said he heard Troy yelling so he had to go in.  Nora is happy, thinking everything is over and Sam realizes that it is over…for them.  He says he knows Nora wanted to prove what Lindsay did, but he never knew she wanted it that badly and he never could have done what Troy did to Lindsay to get the truth…sleeping with her and duping her that way.  Nora tells Sam that she begged Troy not to do it, but she couldn’t stop him and she realized how badly she wanted the truth.  Nora wants to just start over and Sam says they can’t because he saw the way Nora looked when she realized Troy was alive and ran to his arms.  Sam also reminded her that as much as she wanted the truth, she was willing to give up the tape to Lindsay if she’d tell Nora where Troy was.  That proved how she feels for Troy.  At that point, Nora sadly realized that Sam was right.  He held his arms out to her and in a very touching moment, they said they loved each other…realizing they were over.

At the police station

Bo and Hank are in Bo’s office with Troy and Lindsay is outside the window yelling in that Troy is a liar.  The cops get Lindsay to sit down and shut up and Troy, Bo and Hank listen to the tape.  Troy wants to know what they have to do to convict Lindsay and Hank says it won’t be easy.  Troy can’t believe it.  They tell him that since he fooled Lindsay and pretended to be Colin, that could hurt the case…and also they really need someone else who knows that Lindsay kidnapped and drugged Nora, to corroborate the story, since Lindsay says she was coerced into confessing and Troy is the only one who heard the confession from her.  Troy is furious that Lindsay could walk and then he has a brainstorm.  He has them listen to the tape again and gets to the part where Lindsay revealed that Jen and Will know what she did to Nora but never told anyone.

They go outside the office and Lindsay is being defiant, saying they can’t hold her or prove anything and they tell her about the fact that they know Jen and Will know what she did.  She is shocked and denies it, but Troy reminds her that it’s on that tape.  She looks at him like she could kill him right there.  Lindsay tells Bo that her children would never send he to jail.  Bo calls Jen and tells her that unfortunately he had to arrest her mother and asks her to come down to the station.

Troy and Lindsay are in Bo’s office and she is very smug, telling him that Jen will never send her to prison.  Troy is sure she will.  Lindsay doesn’t believe it….but Troy proceeds to tell her that if she doesn’t come forward and admit what she did to Nora, he will make sure that Jen tells the truth about what she knows, because he will tell Jen how her mother changed the pregnancy test to make her look pregnant, which ruined her life with Cristian and put Al in a wheelchair.  That will make Jen hate her enough to tell the truth.  He also threatens to tell Jen that Lindsay asked him for a drug to make Jen stop getting her period.  Lindsay just stares at him and he tells her that everything she has confessed to him is on tape and that he’s been taping her for months.
