Break Bar

Jessica asks Natalie for help in dealing with Roxy. Natalie thinks Roxy’s behavior is normal but Jessica says she is concerned because Roxy is really sick. Natalie is amazed that Jessica would ask her for help. Jessica wants them to try to be friends. Natalie agrees to help with Roxy.

Jessica has to figure a way to get Roxy to stop drinking and gambling. Natalie thinks it’s impossible – Roxy doesn’t want to change. Natalie has been there and knows that Roxy is a lost cause. Jessica is sure there has to be a way to help. Natalie thinks Jessica is being naïve. Jessica thinks Natalie just doesn’t have compassion for Roxy because of her rotten childhood. Jessica decides to come up with a plan of her own and she leaves.

Roxy’s House

Alison warns Roxy not to try to double-cross her. She tells Roxy to stop the drinking and stick with the plan. They can get more money out of Jessica if they play their cards right. Roxy is intrigued by the possibility but not excited about changing her lifestyle. Alison points out that she could drop dead if she continues with her lifestyle. Alison is going to research how much Roxy can drink without aggravating her condition.

Jessica returns and asks Roxy to tackle her problems one at a time. Roxy is touched that she is concerned but doesn’t think Jessica can fix what really ails her – her rotten life. She thinks maybe if she got a job things would look up for her – but who would hire her? Roxy tells Jessica she needs money to get back on her feet. Jessica offers to give her $10,000 to get her started. Roxy thinks that could do the trick…

The Funhouse

Troy agrees to tell Lindsay where the tape is – but he has a condition. Troy insists on getting a message to Nora to get her to back off so Lindsay will have no reason to hurt her. Lindsay tells Troy that Nora has already received an e-mail from him letting her know he was mistaken about Lindsay. Troy insists on calling Nora to tell her in person. No way, Lindsay says. She is afraid Troy would give Nora a clue about his whereabouts.

She returns with a tape recorder and allows Troy to tape a message for Nora that Lindsay can play on her answering machine. Troy records a message saying he was wrong about Lindsay and that he should have known it when he asked Lindsay to marry him – in front of the Ramali. Lindsay is surprised that Troy didn’t try to send Nora a clue. She heads out to deliver the message to Nora.

Nora’s House

Nora has been looking for Bo but Hank tells her he is out on a case and offers to help. Nora relates the story about Troy and gives him a printout of the e-mail she received from ‘Troy.’ Nora checked with a friend and she knows Troy was never in Paris. Hank wonders why Sam isn’t helping her and Nora tells Hank that Sam walked out on her.

Nora is convinced Lindsay wrote the e-mail. Hank reminds Nora he doesn’t have a case against Lindsay. She doesn’t want him to bother Bo with her problem. The phone rings as they are outside and Nora lets the machine get it. When she plays the message, she is stunned to hear Troy’s voice. She plays the tape back wondering if Troy is trying to leave her a clue with his reference to ‘Ramali.’

Todd & Blair’s Mansion

Sam tells Todd that he is helping Blair with a problem. Todd asks if it has anything to do with Jack but Blair and Sam deny it. Blair asks Todd if he has seen Starr. He says she is in the nursery and goes to check it out.

Blair and Sam discuss the legal options to try to keep Jack. Blair thanks him for helping her and tells him that he was supposed to be Jack’s godfather but Todd changed his mind. Sam is willing to help Blair despite Todd’s strange behavior.

The Nursery

Starr is trying to remember the name of the woman ‘the man on the wheel’ asked her to call. When she remembers Nora, she calls information to get Nora’s number. Starr spies the spider in the crib and tries to get her back into the jar – just as Todd enters the room. Todd sees the spider in the baby’s bed and kills it. Starr is crushed – the spider was the key to her helping the ‘man on the wheel.’ Blair and Sam rush in when they hear the commotion. Blair is worried that the spider harmed Jack. Starr tries to tell them that the spider ended up in the crib by accident. Todd doesn’t want to hear her excuses.

Sam stays with Starr while Todd and Blair take Jack to see the doctor. Starr is distraught at the loss of the spider. She tells Sam that the spider was her proof that the ‘man on the wheel’ really exists.

Break Bar

Al watches Seth counting the nightly receipts. Seth says it’s the first time he has done it, so he wants to make sure he does it right. Max counts the money to make sure it is correct. Seth asks him if he can get an advance on his salary. Max agrees and tells Seth to remind him when he gets back. Max heads off to run some errands – leaving the money with Seth. Al watches the exchange and thinks about Natalie’s plan.

Natalie presses Al to get the money away from Seth. Al doesn’t think it will work but he agrees to give it a try. Natalie heads over to distract Seth. He tells Natalie and Al to leave so he can go to the bank. Al pulls the fire alarm. Seth turns it off and then goes to check for a fire. Natalie stands watch while Al goes to the bar to get the money but he can’t reach over unless he stands.

The Funhouse

Lindsay comes back and tells Troy that Nora got his message. She demands to know where the tape is – Troy says it’s in a supply closet at the hospital. Lindsay is dubious but she goes to check it out. As she is leaving, she discovers the note that Starr dropped. She throws the breaker switch to get more light to read the note. Lindsay rushes back in and confronts Troy with the note. Meanwhile, the breaker begins to spark…

Line of the Day

Natalie (to Jessica): Roxy’s not the brightest bulb but when it comes to burning up money and digging her own grave, she’s a genius!
