Todd & Blair’s Mansion

Blair is talking to the baby when Starr sneaks up behind them and throws a clay mouse into Blair’s lap. Starr is just trying to play with the baby, but Blair warns her that he is too little to play with clay. Starr is jealous of the attention Blair is giving to the baby.

Todd is on the phone frantically trying to keep Paloma away from Llanview. He answers the door and imagines it is Paloma – it’s actually Viki, Ben and Sam. Todd continues to have visions of Paloma terrorizing him. Viki wonders what is wrong with him.

Todd makes an excuse about the baby. Viki, and Blair are cooing over the baby while Starr looks on. She tries to get their attention. When Viki gives her a coloring book Starr is disappointed – she used to get cool presents before the baby came along.

Sam corners Todd and asks him why he is behaving so strangely. Todd says the 4 a.m. feedings are killing him. Sam wonders how Todd was able to adopt so quickly and why he didn’t consult Sam for his legal advice. Sam is dubious that Todd would be so anxious to take in someone else’s baby. Todd becomes very defensive and says he wants to do the right thing and there doesn’t have to be an ulterior motive.

Starr tries desperately to get attention. Blair and Todd announce that they want Ben and Viki to be the baby’s godparents. Ben thinks Sam would be more appropriate as the godfather but Todd thinks Sam would ask too many questions at the christening. Sam is very suspicious of Todd’s behavior.

Todd goes into the foyer and calls a former employee who is now on the police force in Mexico. Todd needs a favor. As he is talking Blair finds him. Todd says it’s an emergency at the paper. When Blair leaves him alone, Todd tells his friend to keep Paloma Sanchez away from Blair. Sam overhears. Who is Paloma? Sam wants to know.

The Palace Restaurant

Hank, Asa and Max are stunned to hear Bo offer to let Gabrielle live with him. Hank wonders what his motive is – helping Gabrielle or sticking it to Asa. Both, Bo says. Asa thinks Bo will be harboring a criminal but Hank points out that there is nothing criminal about Bo letting Gabrielle live with him.

Rae and Hank are having lunch. Hank is called away for a phone call. Renee wonders if their lunch is a date. Rae says they are just friends, but she does say she hasn’t spoken to Sykes since New Years Eve.

Asa threatens to sue Max but Max gloats that he has won this round and Asa is powerless. Asa doesn’t think his plan was a total failure – he did manage to get Gabrielle to help him destroy Max.

The Garrett

Gabrielle tries to settle in at Bo’s ‘manly’ home. She wonders why Bo is helping her. Bo says he didn’t do it for her sake, he did it to get back at Asa. Gabrielle offers him the opportunity to rescind his invitation. She is about to leave when Bo stops her. Gabrielle admits that she doesn’t have a better option. Bo tells her she can stay, but she has to get a job – fast.

Llanfair

Natalie accuses Jessica of plotting to get Seth. Jessica is in no mood to discuss this with her. When Al calls, she heads out to meet him at the quarry. Natalie follows her.

Llanview Hospital

Lindsay makes sure Cris overhears Jen saying that Al is the father of her baby. Cris confronts Jen asking her to tell him that she didn’t sleep with Al – Jen can’t. She tries to explain to Cris why it happened. Lindsay chimes in and makes matters worse. Cris is furious that Jen lied to him and believes Jen was scheming with her mother to deceive him. Jen points out that he had dumped her and claimed to have slept with Shawna. Jen blurts out that she and Al were at the quarry and it just happened. Cris is stunned by the news that she slept with Al in their special place.

Jen thinks that Cris should understand because he slept with Roseanne when he was in love with Jessica. Cris walks away. Jen goes after him, but Lindsay stops her. Lindsay offers to help Jen figure out what to do. Jen goes to the ladies’ room.

Rae returns and confronts Lindsay – what have you done to Jen? Lindsay threatens to tell the hospital administration that Rae neglected her patient. Rae walks away. Jen comes back and tells Lindsay that she isn’t pregnant.

The Quarry

Al calls Jessica to get Jen’s home number. Jessica can tell he is upset about something and tells him to stay put. Jess meets Al and he tells her he ruined Jen’s life. Natalie is hiding in the rocks listening to their conversation. Al is babbling and Jess tries to get him to tell her what is happening. She starts piecing together the events of the past few months and guesses that Al and Jen slept together.

Al tells Jess what happened when he and Jen ‘comforted’ each other because they were both going through a rough time. Jess wonders if the ‘complication’ is that Jen is pregnant. Al doesn’t know for sure and he doesn’t want to say it out loud.

Jess thinks Al should wait for Jen to contact him. Al says he loves Jen. Jess advises him to keep Jen’s secret, but Al doesn’t think he can do that. As they are commiserating, Natalie shows herself and says she followed Jess because they hadn’t finished their conversation at the house. She congratulates Al on his impending fatherhood and leaves. Jess tells Al to relax and she goes after Natalie.

Cris shows up to confront Al…

Llanfair

Jess begs Natalie to keep Al’s secret. Natalie doesn’t care about Al but she warns Jess that she will never allow her to be with Seth.

Line of the Day

Max (when Gabrielle asks if he has anything to say to her): Yeah, that you’re a lying, treacherous, conniving thief and anyone who gets mixed up with you is gonna live to regret it.
