One Life to Live Recap for Friday, January 4, 2002

Sam, Nora, Matthew

Sam comes over to Nora’s house to have a day out with Matthew…just the two of them.  Matthew gives him a long list of things he wants to do and Sam says ok, but they have to stop at Dr. Troy’s first to drop off some papers for his clinic.  Nora says she’ll drop them off since she has to see Troy to drop off some papers also.  Sam gives her the papers and he and Matthew set off on their day…but not before he tells Nora that when he’s done with Matthew’s adventure, they should have a private adventure of their own.

Troy and Lindsay

Troy wakes up and Lindsay comes back to bed after their night together.  He wonders what favor she wanted to ask him last night.  She hesitates, but then she finally tells him she needs a drug.  He is confused and wonders why.  She tells him it’s for Jen.  He asks if Jenn is sick and she says no…that she thinks she’s pregnant.  Troy asks if she has taken a test and Lindsay tells him she has.   Troy is still confused as to why Jen “thinks” she’s pregnant.  Lindsay tells him Jen is really not pregnant and he just doesn’t get it.  She takes out a pen and demonstrates how she changed the pregnancy test results.  He asks her why she did that and she tells him about her need to get Jen away from Cris, and that Jen slept with another boy while she was broken up with Cris.  Troy tells Lindsay that as soon as Jen gets her next period, she will know she’s not pregnant.  Lindsay tells him that’s why she needs a drug…one that will prevent Jen from getting her period for a while.  Troy tells her there’s nothing he can give her that won’t possibly hurt Jen and Lindsay says she doesn’t want to hurt her.  Lindsay asks about birth control pills and Troy tells her that won’t stop Jen from getting her next period.  Lindsay accepts that he can’t help her and she tells him he must think she’s horrible.  He plays along with her, since the tape recorder is running, and tells her he admires her ingenuity in thinking up that plan.  She says she hopes he won’t tell anyone and he promises her secrets are safe with him.  He asks how she came up with the plan and asks if she ever did anything like that before?  Instead of confessing about the drug she gave Nora, she tells him that the past is going to remain in the past.

Troy decides to take a show…Lindsay is getting dressed to go and meet Jen.  Troy goes into the bathroom and someone knocks on the door.  Nora calls out to Troy and Lindsay hears it.  She is excited it’s Nora and opens her blouse, messes up her hair and opens the door.  Nora is surprised to see her in that state and Lindsay remarks that Nora looks surprised and unhappy to see her there.   Nora says she really doesn’t care and Lindsay says she believes she cares a lot that her friend Dr. MacIver has hooked up with her.  Lindsay continues to taunt Nora and is enjoying it.  Nora continues to deny that she cares and Troy comes to the door, dressed in a towel.  Lindsay says she has to leave and Troy tells Nora to come in.  She doesn’t want to…she’s obviously annoyed and finally she comes in.  She very matter of factly asks Troy to sign Sam’s papers and he only wants to talk to her.   She asks why he had to sleep with Lindsay and says he’s gone too far.  He tells her he doesn’t care about Lindsay and tells her that she should know by now how he feels about her and that he’d do anything for her.

Jen, Cris, Sam & Matthew

Matthew decides that he wants to spend some time with his sister, so he and Sam stop by Cris and Jen’s place.  Jen says she’d love to stay and spend time with him, but she has to go out. She has a shopping date with Lindsay.  It seems like she’s not telling the truth.  Matthew had a balloon with him that popped so Cris takes him down to the Break Bar to get more balloons and Sam and Jen have a chance to talk.  He sees she’s upset and wonders why and he asks if she’s happy with Cris.  She says that Cris is wonderful but she’s afraid it won’t last.  Sam apologizes for he and Lindsay not being good role models for a relationship.  Jen doesn’t tell Sam what she’s upset about.  Cris and Matthew come back and Jen leaves.  Sam tells Cris that he’s worried about Jen because this is her first real relationship and Cris has had several.  He feels that Jen is under pressure and Cris assures him that he loves Jen and will take care of her.

Gabby, Al and Asa

Al goes by Asa’s mansion and finds a big red blanket outside the front door.  It turns out it’s Gabrielle under the blanket, who has slept outside all night long.  Al asks what she’s doing and she says that Asa kicked her out and she had nowhere to go.  She begs Al not to walk away from her and tells him that he’s all she’s got.  He doesn’t really have much sympathy for her, but he goes in the house and lets her in.  Asa shows up and Al reads him the riot act about lying to everyone.  Asa tells Al that he can keep everything he gave him in his will…the money and his education.  Al tells him he doesn’t want his money and that he knows Asa used him in his plan to get back at his real father.  Asa tells him to take the money and not be a fool and Al leaves, saying he’s leaving town and will be back for his things.  Gabby tells him he can’t leave and he tells her she doesn’t love him, that she used him as well.  She says she never used him, but he’s not buying it.  He walks out and says he’s going to see the only person who never lied to him.

Gabby pleads with Asa not to turn her out and he doesn’t care a bit about her pleading.  She tells him he can’t turn her away with nothing, and he hands her two nickels to rub together.  She throws them on the floor and says she’s going to pack her things and get out.  Asa tells her she has no right to take anything since he paid for all of the clothes and jewelry and she grabs the blanket and walks to the door.  He grabs the blanket, saying it’s his horse’s favorite one, and slams the door in her face.

Al goes over to Jen’s and catches Lindsay outside her door.  Lindsay tells him Jen is not home and makes him suspicious telling him she’s doing something person and she’ll tell him when she’s ready.  Al is worried that something is wrong with Jen, and Lindsay won’t tell him what’s going on.  She’s purposely peaking his curiosity and worry.  She leaves and purposely drops a piece of paper on the floor that has the name and address of the family planning clinic at Llanview Hospital.

At the clinic

Lindsay tells Jen to relax, that they ‘re going to talk to a counselor and discuss her options.  Lindsay goes to check her in and tells the nurse privately that her daughter is late for her appointment and asks her to call her home.  She gives the nurse the number and it’s Cris’ phone.  Cris is still talking to Sam outside the door so the machine picks up, but when he comes back he hears that it’s the family planning clinic calling for Jen.

Al arrives at the clinic and asks Jen what she’s doing at the family planning clinic.

Blair, Todd, Starr and Baby

Todd wakes up and notices he’s alone in bed.  He thinks Blair left and then she comes in with a breakfast tray.  He tells her he thought she left and she tells him she’d never do that.  He wonders if that’s true.   She tells him that they have both seen the best and worst of each other and nothing could make her leave him.

Later they are with the baby and Starr and the decided the baby needs a name.  Blair says she always wanted to name their little boy, Todd, and Todd refuses.  He doesn’t want the baby to have his name.  Blair says she had her heart set on it, but Todd says that name comes with too much baggage.  Blair decides on her second choice….they name the baby John, because Blair says it means “precious gift” and Todd says they will call him Jack.  Todd says he will be Jack Cramer Manning.  Blair is touched because she knows Todd can’t stand her family, but he says it has nothing to do with her family…so they agree on that name.
