One Life to Live Recap for Wednesday, February 6, 2002

The Gym

Cris is taking out his aggressions over the loss of Jen. Natalie interrupts and wants to know whose face he is pretending is on the punching bag. Natalie guesses that Cris wants to smash Al’s face. Cris denies it and tells Natalie to stay out of his life.

Roxy’s House

Roxy tells Jessica she is sick and Jess takes a look at her medical records to find out what the problem is. Roxy ‘confesses’ that Jess may be sick too – her disease is genetic. Roxy says she has a blood sugar problem and that she may die. Jessica is sympathetic and says she will call Larry and ask him to help. Roxy stops her and Allison signals her not to let Jess contact Larry. Roxy says she doesn’t want to mooch off of Jessica’s family.

Roxy doesn’t think she can get better because she let the disease go on too long and she doesn’t have insurance or money to pay for treatment. Jessica says Roxy has to get well because she is her mother.

After Jessica leaves, Allison reminds Roxy that they can’t afford to get real doctors involved or Jess will find out Roxy isn’t really sick. They gloat that Jess is probably already headed to the ATM to get money for Roxy’s treatment.

Carriage House

Jen tries to encourage Al to learn to walk again. Al tries to kiss her but she pulls away. Max walks in and sees what is happening. He tells Al to go check out his room and he confronts Jen and tells her not to break his son’s heart. Jen says she just broke up with Cris but she has every intention of making good on her promise to Al. Max tells her she is the reason Al wants to walk again. Jen promises to stick by Al no matter how long – or what – it takes. Max intends to see that she keeps her promise. Al returns and Max offers to take them to the gym so Al can start his exercises.

Todd’s Office

Gabrielle offers to show Blair her ‘résumé’ to show her qualifications to be the new style editor for the paper. Blair isn’t interested and Todd tries to change the subject. Blair grabs the envelope and is about to open it when Todd rips it out of her hands. Blair demands to know why Todd doesn’t just throw Gabrielle out.

Todd ushers Blair out and calls Gabrielle’s bluff. She has nothing to lose by telling Blair and Todd knows it. She wants a job right now! Todd doesn’t believe she can handle the job even if he gave it to her, but Gabrielle is sure she is up to the challenge. Todd reluctantly gives her the job but promises she will be sorry.

Gabrielle sees the story in the Sun about Asa’s sentencing and heads off to the courthouse.

Llanfair

Starr is looking at the pictures of Jessica and Natalie. She asks Viki which is her daughter. Viki says both. Viki says she loves both of her daughters, but Starr wants to know which daughter she loves the most. Before Viki can answer, ‘Niki’ appears. Viki doesn’t want to choose. She tells ‘Niki’ to be quiet and Starr thinks Viki is talking to her. Starr persists in her query and ‘Niki’ taunts Viki to answer her. Viki yells at ‘Niki’ to shut up. Starr is disturbed by Viki’s outburst. Viki insists she loves both girls and ‘Niki’ says she prefers Natalie – more spunk. And she thinks deep down, Viki prefers Natalie too. Viki leaps up and tells ‘Niki’ to stop!

Ben walks in on Viki’s tantrum and wants to know what is going on. Starr says Viki told her to go away – Ben thinks she is lying. Viki admits she did yell at Starr. Ben sends Starr to the kitchen and asks Viki what happened. Viki tells him about ‘Niki’s’ appearance. Viki can’t understand why ‘Niki’ has come back.

Blair stops by to pick up the kids. She tells Viki about Gabrielle working at the Sun. Viki thinks they have seen the last of Gabrielle but Ben reminds her that Al just moved into the Carriage House, so Gabrielle will be around.

Jessica returns and asks to speak to Ben privately. She shows him Roxy’s medical info and asks if her disease is treatable. Ben says it is, but he isn’t sure that Roxy is really sick. Jess wants to do whatever she can to help her ‘mother.’

Todd arrives and tells Blair he ‘took care’ of Gabrielle. 

Cristian’s Loft

Natalie drops by to bring Cris his gym bag – she throws it in his face. Natalie says she was only trying to help and Cris behaved like a jerk. Cris apologizes but Natalie still thinks he’s a jerk. She understands why they are both hurt – they got dumped. Cris points out that he didn’t get dumped – he walked away. Natalie doesn’t buy it. She doesn’t think she will ever be able to accept seeing Seth with Jessica.

Cris says they both have to accept it – there’s nothing they can do. Natalie thinks not – she intends to do something about her situation, even if she has to lie, cheat and scheme. Cris doesn’t think that is his style and maybe he just has to move on. Natalie doesn’t think she can do that. Cris tries to comfort her and they end up kissing.

The Gym

Al asks Jen what was happening with Max at the Carriage House. He is suspicious that Max pressured Jen into staying with him. Jen says she is with him for one reason – and she kisses him.

Line of the Day

Blair (to Gabrielle): Right now I think that you are a bed-hopping, fortune-hunting, Brit-talking, con-bimbo who’s in between prison sentences…
