One Life to Live Recap for Friday, December 27, 2002

Al found Jessica at the Horse Stables where she rode as a kid. She asked him if he knew everything, and he affirmed that he did. Jess said that she would rather be alone, but Al refused to let her be alone. He said that he was her oldest friend, and that no matter what (stupid) mistakes he made, she never judged him. She might have said that his actions were absurd, but she never turned against him. He said that it was time to repay her for that, and that he would be there for her, and that he wouldn’t leave her. She allowed him to stay, and explained a bit about how she felt like her mother let her go into Mitch’s arms after giving birth to her. Al said that there was more to the story, because he knew how much Viki loved Jess. Al brought attention to the fact that her family was very worried about her, and that they would appreciate a phone call letting them know that she was ok. She said that she didn’t want them to know where she was, and that she wasn’t ready to see anyone that she knew, because they all knew about her latest discovery. Al talked Jess into letting him call Viki and telling her that Jess was ok and that he would stay with her. He called (Jessica didn’t want to talk to anyone there) and told them that Jess was ok. That was enough to alleviate some of the nerves of the people at Llanview.

Cristian, Natalie, Viki, Rex, Seth, and Bo are trying to figure out where Jessica could be. Bo assures Viki that he has every available policeman out looking for her daughter. He said that if she was trying to travel outside of Llanview, that she would be noticed. Bo ascertained that it was more likely that she was hiding somewhere in the city, and somewhere that she felt safe. Viki reiterated that she knew that Jessica was very upset, and it wasn’t likely that she would turn up anytime soon. Everyone agreed that it was better that she was alone than with Mitch Lawrence. Viki and Bo thought about Asa, and how he would react to this whole predicament, and they thought it would be better that he not find out until they figure some things out. They feared what he would do if he found out about Jess and Mitch Lawrence. The phone rang, and it was Al, telling Viki the information about Jess. After Viki hung up the phone, everyone was very relieved to hear that Jess was ok. Rex started to go out, but Seth stopped him in the patio and asked him where he was going. Rex said that he wanted to find Jessica, because he didn’t think that Al Holden would be the person with whom Jess should be talking while she is so upset. He claimed that he was the only one who could comfort her, and no one else. Seth just rolled his eyes, and told him that he couldn’t leave, and that he needed to leave Jessica alone. Back inside, Cristian talked about moving out of the loft, because he was going to let Jen live there. Bo said that he needed to be living in a place where someone was looking after him, since he was a "target" for Mitch Lawrence. Natalie suggested that Cristian live at Llanfair, and both Bo and Viki thought that was a great idea. Cristian left to go and get his things from the loft, and Bo wanted to go with him. Cristian said that he could do it alone, but Bo wanted to be humored, so he went along for the ride.

Mitch arrived at the loft with champagne and 2 glasses to celebrate with Jen. Jen said that she really didn’t like alcohol, but Mitch convinced her to join. Jen asked him what they were celebrating, and he said that they were celebrating the end of Cristian and Natalie. Jen softened a bit, and said that she had done everything that he asked her to do regarding Cristian. Mitch agreed that she followed his requests to the letter in how she dealt with Cristian telling her about Natalie. Jen said that it killed her to say the things that she said to Cristian, when she really wanted to rip him apart. She wondered if Cristian thought that she was stupid to not see that Natalie and Cris were messing around for "all this time." (Note: Were they in some relationship about which I didn’t know? I mean, I know they liked each other, and they had 2 incidences where they kissed, but other than that, where is all this messing around of which Jen is speaking?) So, Jen and Mitch sat down as Mitch poured the champagne. Mitch raised a toast and said, "To Cristian and Natalie: May they rest in peace!" Jen pulled back her glass, and said that she never agreed to murder anyone. Mitch covered up by saying that he meant that their relationship was over. He said that he didn’t mean that anyone was going to get killed. They toasted the end of Cris and Natalie’s relationship. A few minutes later, the door opened, and Cristian walked in to see the two of them sitting together!

Nora tells Sam that she’s engaged. Sam said that, based on the fact that Nora looked on cloud nine, he was very happy for her. She said that she was definitely very happy, and that she was looking forward to becoming Mrs. Troy MacIver. She asked Sam for his assistance in telling Matthew the news, and he agreed to do so. Sam asked her if Lindsay knew about the engagement. Nora said that it was impossible for her to know about the engagement, because it just happened, and this was the first stop she made. She said that the only person to whom Troy talked was Emily, so there wasn’t any way for Lindsay to know. Nora asked Sam why he asked that question and Sam replied that Lindsay had been acting very strangely as of recent, and that day was the worst. (He was recalling walking in on Lindsay trashing her own gallery earlier). Sam blew it off for the time being, because he didn’t want to put suspicion in Nora’s mind on the day she got engaged.

Emily was ecstatic to hear of Troy and Nora’s engagement. She asked Troy how he was going to keep Lindsay from finding out about the engagement. Troy says that he doesn’t care, and that he didn’t have much of a choice at that point. Emily asked him what his plan of attack was, and he said that he didn’t have time to make one since his asking Nora was impromptu since she found the ring. He told Emily that he was going to go right then to find Lindsay and tell her so that she could hear it from him and not through the grapevine. Troy finds Lindsay at the gallery, and she is still quite upset. He doesn’t think too much of it, and proceeds to tell her that he and Nora are engaged. She muttered that she already knew that, but (for some unknown reason) he ignored her statement. She walks over to her desk, and slowly grabs a letter opener and turns around and points it at him and says that he will never marry Nora.

Max follows Roxy to South Philadelphia, where she ends up on the doorstep of a really shady apartment. Max was still thinking that Roxy was meeting Asa, but he was surprised that Asa would meet her in a dump like that apartment complex. He called Asa, who said that he was going to meet Roxy in New York City, and not anywhere near south Philadelphia. Max and Asa both wondered what guy she was meeting! Roxy went inside the door (Max wasn’t able to see anything inside), and we find out that she is visiting her mother! This woman happened to be wearing the same kind of … um…apparel… as Roxy. It is very obvious, after observing their visit, where Roxy received everything in life. This woman yelled at her, put her down, told her that she was a drunk and that she never deserved anything at all, and that she was basically worthless. At one point in this attack, Roxy opened up the door, because she was going to leave. Max realized that Roxy was visiting her mother, and that her mother was absolutely AWFUL to her. Roxy’s mother made some mention about Roxy never getting a man in her life, and Roxy said that she had gotten married to a wonderful man. Her mother asked her if he was drunk or blackmailed into the marriage, and Roxy’s face fell. The mother kept on saying awful things, and Max heard everything. He finally was fed up, and he walked in and said that she couldn’t talk like that to Roxy. Her mother asked who he was, and he said that he was Roxy’s husband!
