One Life to Live Recap for Monday, April 15, 2002

The Carriage House

Natalie tells Cris that Al can walk. Cris thinks she is merely repeating the rumor that Shawna has been spreading. Natalie insists that it’s the truth – she’s seen him walk. Cris demands to know why Natalie didn’t tell him the truth sooner. Natalie relates the whole story of her scheme with Al. Cris is afraid he may be too late to prevent Jen from marrying Al. Natalie encourages him to find Jen and stop the wedding. Cris rushes out.

Natalie rips up her pictures of Seth and finally says good bye to him.

Llanview Church

Cris asks the minister if Jen’s wedding is being held in his church. The minister has no idea what he is talking about so Cris runs out in search of the ceremony.

Asa’s Mansion

Jen and Al’s wedding begins. Jen is still having doubts but she is determined to go through with it. When the preacher asks Jen to say the vows, she is lost in thoughts of Cris. Gabrielle urges Jen to go forward with the ceremony. She snaps out of it and tells the preacher to continue. When he asks if anyone knows why the couple shouldn’t be married, Max stands to protest. Gabrielle cuts him off and sits him back down.

The preacher asks for Sam to give the bride away. He reluctantly gives his approval. The couple recite their vows and the preacher proceeds to the ‘I dos’. Jen hesitates when it’s her turn. After a few anxious moments, she is ready to continue. As she is about to pledge herself to Al, Cris bursts into the room, telling her to stop.

Llanview Hospital

Todd freaks when the pediatrician tells him that Jack could have Aplastic Anemia.

Ben is talking to Blair when Todd rips the phone out of his hands. Ben wants to know why Blair can’t know that her baby is sick. Todd thinks Blair has enough on her plate and doesn’t need any more bad news. Blair calls back and Ben doesn’t tell her he is at the hospital. Blair tells Ben to have Todd come home and she hangs up. Ben threatens to tell Blair the truth if Todd doesn’t do it. Ben heads to the clinic.

The pediatrician returns and Todd peppers him with questions. The doctor thinks that since Jack is not Todd’s biological son, he should be fine. He wants to wait until the tests come back before making a diagnosis. Todd imagines telling Blair that Jack is really their son – it doesn’t go well, even in his imagination. Todd tries to convince himself that Jack just has the flu.

The doctor returns and confirms his original diagnosis and recommends that they start treatment immediately. Todd asks for a second opinion. He confesses to the doctor that Starr is Jack’s biological sister. The doctor tells Todd that Starr is not a suitable donor because she has had Aplastic Anemia too. The donor needs to be a sibling who has not had the disease. Jack doesn’t have one of those, Todd says. Now what? Jack goes on a waiting list for a donor. Todd is distraught to be going through this nightmare again. He is practicing how to break the news to Blair when Ben interrupts him. Ben is heading home, but hopes everything works out for Jack. Todd has no idea how he is going to break this news to Blair.

Todd & Blair’s Mansion

Blair prepares for a party to celebrate the kids’ return. Chad brings a delivery from the Break Bar and Blair asks him to help her with the streamers. Chad picks her up to fix the decoration. He volunteers to help with other preparations and seems smitten with Blair – until Starr shows up and he discovers she has kids! Blair is astonished when she figures out that Chad was trying to hit on her. Chad is mortified and apologizes for his actions. Blair is flattered that he would make a pass at an ‘old married lady’ like her.

Rae shows up and Chad takes the opportunity to beat a hasty retreat. Blair thanks Rae for her help in keeping custody of the kids. Blair assures Rae that she and Todd are happy now that the threat to take the kids away is gone. She is concerned that Todd hasn’t returned with Jack. Starr decides to start the party without them. They are interrupted by a call from Larry. He asks her to bring Jack’s immunization records to the hospital. Blair is confused – why does she need to bring the records to the hospital?

Carlotta’s Diner

Carlotta throws a party to celebrate Keri’s exoneration from Shawna’s charges. Keri is pleased by the show of support from her friends. RJ arrives and puts a pall on the celebration. Carlotta welcomes him and Keri is excited that he has joined them. Keri thanks her friends for standing behind her and helping her beat Shawna’s charges.

Keri tells Hank that she thinks of him as family and is grateful for his support. Hank wants to get to know her better. Keri thinks he should give RJ another chance too. She doesn’t think it will be much of a celebration if Hank doesn’t believe in RJ. Hank can’t bring himself to believe RJ has changed. Keri says she knows how RJ feels having to prove himself after her experience with the university board. Keri is still confused as to why Shawna came after her the way she did. RJ advises her to let it go and move forward.

Antonio asks RJ why Shawna would lie about Keri. RJ plays dumb but Antonio is sure he had something to do with it. Antonio wants to know why RJ was talking to Shawna after the hearing. He thinks RJ was trying to drive Keri away from Antonio.

Hank offers Antonio a ride to the station but he has the afternoon off. RJ heads out to Capricorn. Carlotta gives Antonio the keys and offers the diner so he can continue his celebration with Keri. He dims the lights and the two of them share a dance.

Line of the Day

Antonio: Thank you for doing that, for Keri. (Welcoming RJ to the party.)

Carlotta: Don’t get too close, Mijo. Lightning could strike me any minute.
