Antonio, Cris, Jen, and Keri

Cris and Antonio talk on the phone. Cris says there is no sign of Keith. He hopes Keith takes the bait and believes he really doesn't care about Jen. He hates being without her, but if she knew what was going on, she would only put herself in danger. He asks Antonio to look after Jen.

Later at the student union, Jen asks Shauna about Cris. She tells Shauna and Molly that she and Cris broke up. Jen says Cris told her that Shauna was one of the girls he was with while he was with her. Molly asks if it is true. Shauna said it is true. She says there were many reasons he broke up with Jen, her crazy mother, for one. Jen tells Cris that what her mother did only brought her and Cris closer.  She says she just wants to make sense out of everything.  She asks her if she slept with Cris. Shauna said yes. Jen was so sure Shauna would say no. She said Shauna lied about it before. Shauna tells her that was when Jen's mom set up the web cam with Chad's help.  She says she has to get an assignment and walks away. Chad comes up to Jen. He says he can help with answers about Cris. He says Cris didn't know about the web cam at first, but after he found out, he told Chad to leave it up so he could make money. Jen is upset and walks away.  Antonio walks up to Chad and pays him money for lying to Jen. Later when Jen is at home, the phone rings.  It is Cris calling, but he doesn't say anything.

Antonio goes to see Keri to go over the notes she wrote on his paper. She goes over the notes and tells him he needs to make his point more directly. Keri agrees to meet him at the student union for coffee. When she does, she walks in right after Antonio is paying Shauna for lying to Jen.  Shauna gives it back and tells him she doesn't need the money. She puts the moves on Antonio just as Keri walks in.

Keri and Hank

After Antonio leaves Keri's classroom, Hank walks in. He wants to know about the check she sent him. She says she plans on paying back all of the money he spent on supporting her.  They have another fight because she still thinks he is her father. She tells him she doesn't want his money. Money, she says, is the only connection they have. If she breaks that connection, they will have nothing to do with each other. Hank says he tried to contact Keri's mother. She becomes angry and tells him to leave her mother alone. She tells Hank she did some checking up on him.  After Nora, there was her mother, some woman from Chicago, Sheila, and Carlotta. She asks him if he left any other children our just her. Hank tells her he doesn't want her money and rips up the check. Keri tells him if she had a choice, she wouldn't have wanted his money, either. It was just a way of easing his guilty conscience. He says he doesn't want to bring up bad feelings every time they are in the same room. Keri suggests they try not to be in the same room then. Hank says that won't solve anything, but maybe he knows something that will help.  He needs to speak to someone who can help. Hank leaves and Keri says maybe she should do the same thing.

Renee and David Vickers

Renee gets a call at the Palace Hotel from David Vickers. She doesn't recognize his voice so he gives her hints. He used to be one of her best customers and was Kelly Cramer's favorite attempted murder victim. He says he is back.  Renee didn't think they would ever let him back in Llanview.  He asks her who would stop him if he did decide to come back.  She is confused.  She thought he said he was back in town. He just meant that he was back in her life.  She wants to know why he called. David tells her he was jealous to hear that she and Asa got married again and asks how they are doing.  She tells him they are divorced as David looks at a newspaper clipping about the divorce.  He tells her Asa was a fool to leave her.  David tells Renee he has a once in a lifetime business opportunity for her. He wants her to wire him the money, and she hangs up on him. An older woman comes by and throws his clothes at him.  She confronts him about trying to get her money. A man fitting his description was at the bank claiming to be her son, claiming she was incapacitated.

Blair, Todd, Paloma, and Max

Blair calls the hospital. She says her baby was brought to their morgue. She says she needs to see the baby. The man on the phone says the baby isn't there. Paloma is listening as she remembers Todd handing the baby to a man at the airport. Blair wants to know where her baby is and asks Paloma. Paloma says she will tell her everything, and she tells Blair the baby was cremated.

Todd and Max are at the airport. Max says Blair didn't lose his baby.  Max says he is going to tell him the truth, and he hopes Todd chokes on it. He thinks about Blair pleading with him not to tell Todd the truth, and he tells Todd that he (Todd) killed their baby instead. Max says Blair blames herself. Todd wants a little gratitude for delivering "Max's baby". Max calls Todd heartless. Todd says Max doesn't seem all that broken up over his baby's death and wonders why.  Max tells him he and Blair shared their grief in private.  Before Max goes to catch his plane, he tells Todd to leave Blair alone.  Todd says the baby has no idea how lucky he is never having to have Max for a father. Max tells him he doesn't deserve the truth. As Max walks away, Todd looks behind him to see the man with the baby.

Todd asks the man what he is still doing there. The man tells him there are cops all over and he is scared they are on to him. He tells Todd the deal is off. The kid is all his. Then he hands the baby to Todd and walks away.

Todd is on the phone with a baby broker as David Vickers walks in trying to scam his way into a free plane ride. The stewardess tells him the airline has a file on him because he has tried boarding illegally so many times, and he will have to buy a ticket. He hears Todd yelling into the phone and walks over to him.

Nora, Sam and Troy

"I want you, Troy", says Nora

She is talking about having Troy as Matthew's doctor, of course. Bad choice of words, though.  Sam walks into Troy's office just in time to hear her. Troy sees Sam standing behind Nora. She jumps up when she realizes Sam is there. Nora tells Sam that Troy was just explaining all of the methods of treatment to her.  She tells Sam there isn't a whole lot of choices. She's eliminated the wait and see method and the traditional drugs have proven to be not very successful. Sam is concerned that the drug that can be most helpful is experimental, and the only doctor willing to administer it is Troy. Troy tells him to call any or all of the doctors on the list of doctors her gave Nora. Sam wants to talk to Nora alone, so Troy leaves them in his office and goes for a cup of coffee. Nora wants to know why Sam is so angry. He asks her if he had shown up five minutes later, would Matthew be hooked up to an I.V.  Nora Says she wasn't trying to exclude him.  He was late, and she wanted to get the info ASAP. Nora tells him that this isn't about Troy or Colin, or even the two of them.  It is about Matthew. He understands that. What he doesn't understand is why she would put Matthew at risk with an unknown treatment. Nora says they'd put him at greater risk by doing nothing. Troy isn't an expert....no one is.  Nora defends Troy.  Sam wants to consult with a doctor on the list who testified for him once.  He won't entrust Matthew's life to Troy, he says, as Troy overhears him and walks back into the office.  He tells Sam he understands, but his only intention was to help them make an informed decision.  He only has Matthew's best interest at heart.  Nora tells Sam time is critical.  Troy tells her that when he said that, he was speaking about days not hours, but the sooner the better. He is available immediately, but says it sounds like she and Sam need to talk about it first.   Sam says he has to make some calls before doing anything and leaves the office.  Nora apologizes to Troy for putting him in that position. She says once she has a feeling, she has to go with her instincts.  Troy admires her convictions. She says Troy does, too, but they don't always have the same convictions.

Sam is on the pay phone outside Troy's office. He thanks the doctor and says she has been very helpful. As he hangs up, a nurse comes by with a long stick. Sam asks her what it is. She tells him it's Dr. MacIver's and it's called a rain stick. She says Matthew was playing with it. Sam is surprised and asks her how he got it. The nurse tells him Matthew and Troy are great pals.  She said Matthew says he wants "Dr. Troy" to always be his doctor and then goes into Troy's office.  Sam walks back into Troy's office and tells Troy to go ahead with the treatment.
